GIBSON, Robert James

February 23, 1928 – June 10, 2022

Bob passed away peacefully on June 10, 2022, in Dundas, Ontario with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Lorraine (nee Clark) for 67 years. Loving father of Rob (Sheila) and Marcia (Jeff). Dearly loved grandfather of Allison (Matt), Thomas (Hannah), Heather and Jesse (Dee). We will all miss him dearly.

Bob was born in Toronto and grew up in the Beaches. He moved to Sarnia in 1958 with Lorraine to raise a family and enjoy a successful career with Dow Chemical. He and Lorraine spent their retirement years in Ottawa, enjoying adventures big and small, before moving to Dundas last Fall.

Bob had a great sense of humour and a generous heart. He was a good man who was liked by everyone who knew him. Bob was also a faithful supporter of the Toronto Blue Jays & Toronto Maple Leafs, in good times and bad. He hopes they will be able to manage without him.

Bob’s family wishes to thank the health care providers at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, Home & Community Care Support Services, and Amica Dundas for the compassionate care they provided our wonderful husband, father and grandfather in the final weeks of his life.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, there will be no services.

Czum, Ted (Theodore, Tivadar)

On Tuesday, May 10th in his 96th year Ted conceded to Queen Elizabeth in the race for longevity and slept his last sleep.
Born in Vassar, Hungary Ted fled to Canada in 1956 where he met Win, who, for the next 55 years was his wife, finder of many things, dance and travel partner, voice of reason and of course co-gardener.

Ted’s perseverance, sense of humor and imposing size were passed on to his children Ica (Ferenc), Mike (Jen) and Emma (Mike).

Ted was always proud of his grandchildren and showed his love for Tomas, Gabriella, Matthew, Liliana, Michael and Joshua in many unique ways.

Remembered for his somewhat truthful storytelling (on repeat at times), his unfailing work ethic, his willingness to help family and friends (whether wanted or not), sense of adventure and his love of gardening, he left a lasting impression on most people he encountered.

As per Ted’s wish, cremation has taken place and a ceremony and Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, June 4th at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church, 29 Park St. W. Dundas, Ontario where the event will be live streamed as well.
In Lieu of flowers a charitable donation to the St. Paul’s Benevolent Fund or the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
