Gordon Frederick Price – Passed away peacefully at Juravinski Hospital March 23rd in his 83rd year.  He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Dorothy Price and sister Valerie and will be missed by his three children Shaun,Bob and Stephen and granddaughter Abbygail.  Born in Portsmouth England, Gordon served his tool and die apprenticeship in Bristol before emigrating to Canada in 1963 where he settled with his family in Burlington.  He enjoyed building model airplanes and listening to music.   Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held.

Smith, Ardith Lynne (nee Tingley) 1952-2014.  It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ardith Smith peacefully in her home on Saturday morning, surrounded by her loving family.  Loving wife and best friend for 26 years to Allan Pennie.  A wonderful mother to Kirk (Fiammetta), cherished and proud Grandmother of Victoria, Vanessa and Kyle.  Ardith will be missed by her sister Rhoda (Andy) (Jack deceased 2002), her brother Carson (Judy), and brother-in-law Richard (Brenda deceased 2013). She was predeceased by her sister Wendy, mother Jean and father Frank.  Will be missed by her nieces and nephews, Lindsay (Dave), Ashley (Ryan), Sara, Austin, John (Rikki), Briana, Matt and  Shayne.  Lovingly remembered by her many aunts and uncles throughout Canada. We would like to thank the C.C.A.C for their loving and tender care in her final days.  Family and friends may call at Cattel, Eaton & Chambers, 53 Main St., Dundas, ON, Wednesday, March 26th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Legere, Oressa Elaine (nee Tucker) – July 23, 1924 – March 15, 2014.  Mom passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014
at Wentworth Lodge.  Predeceased by her brother Harold, 1971 and husband Alonzo (Al), 1991, her sister-in-law Joanne
(Walter) and her brother-in-law Pat (Marie). She was a special sister-in-law to Caroline Ott, Joy Murray (Brian) and
their families.  Loved mother of Bonnie McNab (Jim); loving grandmother to Greg (Chris), Janet Yates (John) and caring great gram to Gaby and Ali McNab, Nathan and Matthew Yates.  Mom and Dad came from New Brunswick in the
early 1950’s, settling in Dundas, but never forgetting their “down home” connections.  A proud Maritimer, she loved family gatherings, children, music and being in the church choir.  In her later years she became an avid lawn bowler, continuing into her early 80’s.  Staff at Wentworth Lodge have been providing mom with great care since 2008, appreciating her essence, understanding her cognitive changes, and our family thanks you. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Oressa’s Service at 11:00 a.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  Interment St. Augustine’s Cemetery.  If you so wish, donations to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

Fyfe, Gwendolyn (nee Wilde) – After a courageous battle, Gwen passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice with loving family by her side.  She will be dearly loved and missed by her children Jean-Paul (Sarah Suess), Wayne (Christine), Wendy (Ron Racine) and Michelle (Doug Thompson); 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and niece and nephew Lori and Brad Grundy.  Predeceased by her husband David in 2004 and son Jim and his wife Alana.  Gwen was a life member of the RCL Branch 500 in Lynden.  She held the positions of Secretary, Vice President and for many of the last years headed up the Youth and Education Group.  Friends will be received by family on Monday evening from 6-9 p.m. (Legion Service at 6:30 p.m.) at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas where Gwen’s Service will take place on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.  Cremation to follow.  Interment at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice would be appreciated by the family.

9, 2014, in her 76th year. Beloved wife for 57 years to Eldon and loving mother to; Mike (Lorie), Dolly Frid (Barry), John, Tim (Maryann), L.D., and Michele Spinney. Dear grandmother to Laura Lea; Stephanie; Jennifer; Nicholas; Dylan; Jessica; Mackenzie and Sara and great grandmother to Keaton. Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 6-9 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where the Service for Shirley will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock. Peacefully surrounded by his family at St. Joseph`s Hospital on Saturday March 8th 2014 in his 76th year.  Loving husband of Cora for 55 years.  Cherished father of Suzanne (Ron), Chris (Darlene) and Vicki (Stan).  Barry was predeceased by his brother Steven.  Barry will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren Cathryn (Matt), Joshua and Jake.  Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton &  Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where the Celebration of Barry`s Life will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m.  Cremation will follow the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Philpott Memorial Church – Kingdom Build Project would be appreciated by the family.

In Kampala, Uganda during a humanitarian mission, on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, in her 46th year. Beloved daughter of Dowling and Rudin Knights of Dundas and dear sister of Kendall Knights (Janice) of Georgetown. Karen will be sadly missed by her 3 nieces; Zoë, Ava and Sage,  her nephew Kai, uncle Francis Alexander, aunt Mariette Bowen, and her friends and colleagues Andrea Miller and Connie Gittens-Webber. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday evening from 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Funeral Mass Thursday morning at 11 o’clock at ST. AUGUSTINE’S CHURCH, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas. Interment St. Augustine’s Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy to World Vision would be appreciated by the family.

White, Peter Samuel – Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Thursday, March 6, 2014.  Dearly loved husband of Dana.  Loved and cherished by his son Chadwick (Melissa) of Millbrook and daughter Lori White (Chuck Barton) of Hamilton; sister Joan (Ron Belmore); brother Brian; grandchildren Nicholas, Jacob, Sammy, Chloe; brother-in-law David Van Aman (Marjorie Wahlman) and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his brother Michael and sister-in-law Anne.  Peter was a member of the RCL, Branch #36 in Dundas.  A special thank you to the staff at St. Joseph’s ICU for all their compassion and kindness during this difficult time.  Friends will be received by the family on Sunday afternoon and evening from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. (Legion Service at 7:00 p.m.) at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where Peter’s Service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m.  Cremation to follow.  In kindness, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Autism Ontario would be appreciated by the family.

macfarlane_ovalMacFarlane, Inez – Slipped away on Thursday February 27th — her daughter at her side.  Loving wife of the late Wilson MacFarlane Jr. (1993) and mother of Arlene MacFarlane-VanderBeek (Peter VanderBeek).  Cherished grandmother of Christoffer VanderBeek (Ashley), Lindsay Palmer (Stephen Jr.)  and Jonathan VanderBeek (Kirstie Akitt) and great-grandmother (“GG”) of Jackson & Olivia Palmer and Brycie VanderBeek. She will be missed by her brother, Stewart Brown (Jean) of Kentville, Nova Scotia.  Inez owned and operated the former Dundas Office Supply Ltd. for nearly 40 years, in downtown Dundas.  A service will be held at the Cattel, Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home,  53 Main Street, Dundas at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 8th.  Visitation to precede the service from 1:00 pm.  A private family interment will follow at a later date.   Donations to the Dundas Museum and Archives or Dundas’ Routes Youth Centre would be appreciated by the family.

SIMPSON, Harold Neil

Simpson, Harold Neil – Peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 2, 2014.  Husband and best friend to Frances for 67 years.  He will be dearly loved and missed by his daughters Donna (Dave McRae), Ruth and Barb (Tim Christianson); his sister Dorothy McEachern; grandsons Peter and Paul Christianson (Sandra); great-grandsons Kyle and Tyler.  Predeceased by his brothers Earl, Bernard and Ralph.  Harold was a member of the Air Force Squadron in WWII.  He enjoyed square dancing, photography, gardening and especially all his canine pals.  A special thank you to Christina Paradela for her compassion.  In keeping with Harold’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  Harold’s Service will take place at ROCK CHAPEL UNITED CHURCH, 451 Rock Chapel Road, Dundas on Thursday, March 6 at 11:00 a.m.  Interment to follow at Rock Chapel Cemetery.  If you so wish, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
