Peacefully left this world on November 29th 2016 surrounded by love. Loving husband to Barb Oakes (nee Davis) for 23 years, best friends for 31 years, in love forever. Proud father to Jocelyn, Sadie and Connor. Loving son born to Herb Oakes and Colleen Greene on November 10th,1970 and son-in-law of Frank and Janet Davis. Sadly missed by his step-mother Sandy Oakes, his sister Theresa Oakes, step-brother Jay Sykes (Melissa) and brother-in-law Phil Davis (Tammy). Rich was also loved by his nieces and nephews, many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. In lieu of gifts and flowers a Donation to the Stedman Hospice would be greatly appreciated. There are no words to express our gratitude for the support and care Rich and our family received from the hospice staff. A celebration of life will be held on December 9th, 2016 at Copetown Hall from 5pm-9pm. There will be an opportunity for anyone who wishes to share their thoughts or memories of Rich during the celebration.

LENNIE, Robert Martin -December 20, 1926 – November 28, 2016 – After one long, hard, last battle with Alzheimer’s Disease, Bob died peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas, surrounded by family. Survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Jean, and their children, Ian (Lyne), Bruce (Sydney) and Alison. He was the proud and cherished grandfather of Aidan (Gabrielle), Leif and Nina; Kristina and Andrew; Sarah, Patrick and Georgina. And the slightly astonished great-grandfather of Lars. The only child of Reta L. (nee Jerome) and John D. Lennie, Bob was born in the Casa Maria Maternity Hospital (St. Joseph’s Hospital), Hamilton and raised in Dundas, where he would reside for over 88 of his nearly 90 years. Bob attended Dundas Public School and, during 1939-40, Ottawa Senior Public School. He left Dundas High School to work as a labourer at the Dundas Quarry of Canada Crushed Stone. Eventually he progressed to salesman, then Sales Manager, and to Vice President, Marketing & Sales with the parent firm Steetley Industries. He served as President of the Aggregate Producers Association of Ontario in 1977-78. Bob had lifelong enthusiasms for horses and for sports, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in particular. He and friend Jack Woodley coached the Dundas High School boys’ basketball team to a COSSA championship in 1956. He was a continuous member for over 50 years of both the Dundas Valley Golf and Curling Club and the YMCA, participating in hundreds of weekday noon-hour fitness classes at the Hamilton Downtown Y. He was a longtime Rotarian (awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship in 1992) and served on the Dundas Board of Park Management for several years (as Chairman in 1967-68). He was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s United Church. Through his work as a “rock pedlar”, as well as these many other pursuits, he and Jean made many lasting friendships. At his core Bob was a Dundasian, though he never used the word. The boys who were his friends in his youth – the surrogate brothers with whom he played lacrosse, basketball and football – remained his closest friends for life. Jake and Ron Knowles, Norm Westoby, Len Couldrey, . . He was the last of them. The family would like to thank the staff at the Orchid Garden, St. Joseph’s Villa for their kind, patient and attentive care. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Dundas on Friday, Dec. 2, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the same location on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 11:30 a.m., with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario, 20 Eglinton Avenue West, 16th floor, Toronto M4R 1K8 or the Hamilton Downtown Family YMCA, 79 James Street South, Hamilton L8P 2Z1 would be appreciated.

Goede, Ina – (nee Vandelinde) – To our deepest sorrow, it has pleased the LORD to take out of our midst, my beloved wife, our caring mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt, at the age of 75 years, on Monday, November 28, 2016. Beloved wife of John for 55 years. Loving mother of Cam and Sally Goede, David and Dorota Goede, Christina Goede, Marc and Amy Goede, Ryan and Carlie Goede, Alan and Michelle Goede, Katherine and Luigi DiPastena. Oma to Julia, John, Liam, David, Claire, Adam, Andrew, Matthew, Olivia, Alexa, and Robert. Sister to Jack (Jeanette) Vandelinde, Helen Brown, Joe (Julie) Vandelinde, Corrie (Gary) Duyzer, and Henry (Sue) Vandelinde. Family and friends will be received at the Maranatha Free Reformed Church of Hamilton, 1114 Old Mohawk Rd, Ancaster on Thursday December 1st 2:00PM – 4:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM. Funeral service will be held at the church on Friday December 2nd at 11AM, Reverend W.E. Klaver officiating. Interment at Mount Zion Cemetery, Copetown. Levely, Clifford Herbert “Gump” – Passed away peacefully at the Brant Centre on Saturday, November 26, 2016. Predeceased by his wife Thelma (2000). Loved and missed by his sons Peter (Robin) and Thomas (David) and daughters Geri (Dennis Lilliman) and Cher (Tom Baker); brother James; grandchildren Tim, Steve, Janine, Heather (Chris), Noel (Melissa), Dana (Nicki) and Janelle and great-grandchildren Taylor, Eric, Hailey, Vanessa, Hayden, Simon, Braylea, Ryland and one on the way. Predeceased by brothers Albert, John, Ormand and Harold. Clifford was a member of the RCL, Branch #60 in Burlington and a Retired Lieutenant of Burlington #2 Volunteer Fire Department. Clifford resided both in Hamilton and Burlington and spent their winter months in Florida for the last 27 years. Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where Clifford’s Service will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens. If you so wish, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Caroline Place, Hamilton or Brant Centre, Burlington would be appreciated by the family.

Kindt, Christina “Tina” (nee Saccomano) – It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother, who passed peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, November 26, 2016. She will be loved and missed always by her parents Alfred and Martina; her children Jordan (BreAnna), Tyler (Stacy), Ryan (Christina); her sister Laura (Larry Wigham); her brothers Robert (Debbie), Stephen (Antoinette) and Dave (Genny) and many nieces and nephews. One of the greatest joys in Tina’s life was spending time with family and friends. She was a loving caregiver to her parents, a devoted mother and kind sister. Tina had a passion for photography, capturing many special moments in the lives of family and friends. Special thanks to the staff at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital for their care. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday evening from 6-9pm at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held for Tina, at her request. In remembrance, donations to the Canadian Red Cross or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Grolla, Marlon Jacob – With heavy hearts we announce that Marlon passed suddenly at home at the age of 26. He is survived and deeply loved by his parents Mary Kay and Brian; brothers Samuel (Kitty) and Nigel; grandparents Aileen and Keith Coates; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by his grandparents Ron and Vi Grolla and Uncle Bob. Marlon had exquisite taste in food, music, books, art and had a great sense of humour. He was quiet and thoughtful, but stood his ground, and was tremendously insightful. He will be missed dearly. Friends will be received by the family on Monday November, 28th from 3-5 p.m. at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Marlon`s Celebration of Life will follow Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. In kindness, donations to St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.

WILSON, Helena Magdalena (Pierik) – Peacefully, on Nov 7, 2016 in her 91st year, Helena passed away at Macassa Lodge in Hamilton. Predeceased by her husband Gordon Wilson and her first husband Gerhardus Pierik. Stepmother of Dave and Larry, mother of Annette, Michael and Frank. Her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren will miss their Oma. Helena and Gerhardus were the proprietors of the Ancaster Home Bakery in the late 1960’s. Thank you to all of the wonderful staff at Macassa Lodge and Carrington Place for their excellent care over the years. A private family service has been held. Donations to the Alzheimer Society in Helen’s name are welcome.

On November 3rd, after a lengthy illness, stoically accepted. Mary was loved by her many friends and relatives. A career woman for Bell her entire working life, Mary also devoted herself to her church. Long-time member at St. James Dundas and of St. Paul’s Westdale, Mary was active in both parishes, especially chairing the new organ committee at St. Paul’s and contributing greatly to the organ and grand piano at St. James. Mary was a wonderful asset to the churches where she served as a member of the Altar Guild, and as a Warden, as well as helping in the ministries of both parishes in many capacities. Mary was an artist who loved to paint and to sew. But she will always be remembered for her love of listening to and playing classical music and hymns. Predeceased by her parents Wm. and Estelle Newitt, and brother James. Many thanks to friends and family, to Dr. Colin Stevenson, to friends at St. Joseph’s Estates and to AMICA for her final care. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Eucharist Service to be held at ST. JAMES ANGLICAN CHURCH, 137 Melville Street, Dundas, on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. If desired, memorial donations would be appreciated to St. James Anglican Church. Inurnment of ashes at Grove Cemetery.

Lee, Archie Welford – Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Saturday, October 29, 2016, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Shirley (nee Beaton), and loving father to Stan (Cindy), Lynne Lambertus and Michael. Step-father to Virginia (Ron Haggith), Terry Moore, Bonny Roarke (Rick) and Tim Moore. Archie will be sadly missed by his 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 9 great great-grandchildren and his brother John (Maggie). Predeceased by his brother Joe and sister Erie. Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where the Funeral for Archie will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o’clock.
