“When I get where I’m going, on the far side of the sky,
the first thing that I’m gonna do, is spread my wings and fly”
My dear Jim. What a loyal friend I have lost. Our conversations were deep, funny, therapeutic for me and deeply faithful. You taught me about living a brave positive life no matter our circumstances. Some of our longest phone conversations occurred when I was in a parking lot waiting for a grandchild to appear. You would always begin by saying what parking lot are you in for this call. Many beef supper people will miss seeing you take their tickets in the church. I know you are mixing with wonderful Carluke people there with you now. Enjoy and will see you again sometime. Love Shirley
Donna, so sorry to hear about Jim. You were right – he was holding on until after your wedding. That shows his love for you.
Jim was a funny, caring man, who’s positive outlook on life in the face of his many challenges was an inspiration. He was quick witted and could always be counted on for a source of laughter. He was a nephew, and friend to my Dad, his Uncle Paul, who will miss his phone conversations and dinners at the Keg. He was irreplacable. He was Jim. He will be missed.
My dear friend James. You were a joy to be around. Smiles and laughs were always a part of our time because of your wit and humor. You also made me think of greater things in life by your wisdom and thoughts. Six years flew by too fast my friend. I wish it had been longer.
I will miss you greatly. Your friend Ray

I just heard about Jim’s passing. I worked with Jim at Manulife for a number of years. Loved not only working with him but also being with him socially. He was a wonderful person, fantastic sense of humour and always the life of the party. I’m sure he will he missed by friends and family.
