Passed away peacefully at Juravinski Hospital on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at age 67. Survived by loving wife Debi, sons Jeff (Kate) and Cory, daughter Alexandra and granddaughter Kaitlyn. Predeceased by parents Fred and Winnie and brother Kevin. Survived by loving sister Deborah (Jim) Kekewich. Dennis (Packman) was a former Manager at Bell Canada/BTS who had a passion for fishing, golf, reading, the Green Bay Packers and Toronto Blue Jays. Special thanks to the ICU staff, especially Dr.’s Dionne, Rochwerg and Sharma for their care and compassion. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Craig James Simpson, beloved husband, father and grandfather. Craig passed away peacefully the morning of September 6th, 2022 in his 80th year, surrounded by his family. He will lovingly be remembered by his wife and best friend Kathie; daughter Karen (Kevin), son Bradley (Paula), daughter Alison (Jay), step-son Ray, step-daughter Leanne (Jeff) and Grandchildren Abigail, Jacob, Danielle, Laila, Paige, Sydney, Bryce, Andrea, Caitlin, Hayley. Craig was known for his love of hockey, golf, travel, and his witty conversations and passion for providing detailed answers and diagrams to explain things. He was also an avid collector of things. Craig attended the University of Toronto, where he achieved his P. Eng and PhD in Metallurgy. He went on to complete his Post-Doctorate at the Aachen Technical University in Germany. While in Germany Craig played professional hockey in the Netherlands Hockey League (the other NHL). Craig went on to have a very successful career in Nuclear Energy working for Ontario Hydro Research Division and later for Enbridge. A Celebration of Life for to honour and remember Craig will be held at a later date for family and close friends at one of Craig’s favourite places, the cottage in Hunstville. Craig’s family would like to thank the ICU staff at the Juravinski Hospital for their care and compassion.
It is with broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Gloria on Saturday, September 3, 2022 in her 94th year. At Hamilton General Hospital family were able to say our good-byes. Predeceased by her loving parents George and Irene Magnish. Beloved wife of Dick for over 74 years. Loving mother to Pauline (Terry-predeceased), Christine (Rick), Peter (predeceased), Mark (Christina) and Stephen. Adoring grandmother to Michael, Bradley, Lisa, Leslie, Vanessa, Jack, Wyatt, Breanna and much loved great-grandmother to Aden, Ripley, Tyler, Kyle, Payton, Carley, Reed and Nolan. Much loved sister to Gerry (Bernice), Harry (predeceased), Louise (predeceased). Gloria will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Age 69 years, of Dundas, Ontario, went to be with Jesus on Friday September 2, 2022 after a six month illness. Pat considered herself blessed to be born into a loving Christian family and to be taught from childhood the need to follow Jesus in one’s life. She became a medical retina specialist, a calling she thoroughly enjoyed and in which she was internationally renowned. Her expertise was equaled only by her kindness, as her numerous patients attest. Pat was highly committed to her church family at Philpott Memorial Church, where she was a lifelong member and where she served in many capacities. Her close loving relationships included her treasured best friend Stu Archibald and his daughters Jenny, Heather and Cathy, her two brothers John and his wife Mary, David and his wife Val, the children of both families, Jesse, Seth, Sarah, Jessica, and Jonathan, and the beloved great nieces and nephews. On September 10th at 10:30 a reception-visitation followed by the funeral service will be held at Philpott Memorial Church, 84 York Blvd, Hamilton, ON. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Philpott Memorial Church, or Juravinski Cancer Centre, c/o HHS Foundation, Hamilton, ON.
Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on September 1, 2022 at age 64. Survived by loving, caring wife Joanne (nee Peraziana); son Andrew (Megan); daughter Karlee; Grandson and light of his life, John. Predeceased by parents John and Marie and brother Doug. Survived by brother Dan (Janice); sister Laura (Kent) Ginther and sister-in-law Anna. We would like to thank the staff of Orchid Garden at St. Joseph’s Villa for being excellent caregivers and loving companions. Passed away peacefully at home on Sunday August 28th, 2022, in his 90th year with his family by his side. Beloved husband and bestfriend of Norma (nee Carty) for over 65 years. Loving father of Debbie (Paul) and Jacquie (Brad). Devoted Papa to Shelby, Jacob, Meagan, Sarah and Kelly. Survived by sister Elizabeth and brothers Emil, Tony and Eugene. Predeceased by sisters Medi, Rosa, Helen, and brothers Rudy and Karl. Adam was an avid soccer player with the Hungarian Turil, Germania Club and Slovak Club. His favourite place to be was at the cottage in Lion’s Head. Adam was a kind and loving man who loved his family (and his treats). Two hard working hands laid to rest. Cremation has taken place. Donations in memory, can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Opa at the age of 90 packed up his fishing rod, pulled his boat out of the water and is now reunited with Janna (Oma). He will be missed by his sons Ron, Bernie ( Donna), David ( Sherry), and Joe (Cheryl). Grandchildren Tyler (Jackie), Leanna (Josh) Jennifer (Joey) Lisa (Vince) and Devon. Great grandchildren Raina and Easton. A visitation/celebration of life will be held at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St. Dundas on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Wife of John, sister of Heather, mother of son, Ashley, and daughters, Nicola, Julia and Philippa; “Nana” of Dana, Cameron, Dylan, Nathan, Graydon, Avery, Addison and Cayley. Ann was a teacher in the sixties at Hillfield-Strathallan Schools and Westmount High School. In the seventies she graduated from the University of Toronto as a Speech Pathologist and spent her remaining working years with the Hamilton-Wentworth R.C. School Board. An avid reader and popular member of her Book Club, Ann was also a tennis player and fan of the game. She is loved and missed by her entire circle of friends and family. Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St. Dundas, on Thursday, August 25 from 5-7p.m. for a visitation. A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, August 26 at 11a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow. It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma and friend on August 20, 2022. She will be forever missed by her daughter Moira and son Colin (Sandy). Predeceased by her son Robbie (1981) and husband Jack (2008).
She was the proudest Grandma to Scott (Jacqui), Ross and Alison (Greg). Loving Great Grandma to Bailley, Cameryn, Darcey, Ian, Irie and Miles. Special Grandma to Jackson and Caitlin. She will be missed by all her family in Wishaw, Scotland… as well as many friends and neighbours in Dundas.
As per moms request “there will be a private family graveside service” and burial at Grove Cemetery, in Dundas, on Tuesday August 23, 2022 at 1:00 pm. The family will arrange a Celebration of Life at a later date.
We would like to thank the staff and residents of Bertram Place Retirement Home for the love and support shown to mom and all the family over the past three months. We will forever be thankful!
On August 16, 2022 at the age of 86. Cherished mother of Ellen (Frank Vriezen), Jan, Alison (Bill Hountalas), Heather (Spencer VanWolferen), John, Jim, and Jody (Laura Baskott). Beloved grandmother of Rachael, Devin, Stacey, Zoe, Mikie, Russ, Olivia, Thomas, Austin S, Liam, Austin B, and Jacob. She loved her brother Don (Sharon), and ever in her heart were her late sister Kay (George Murrison), and her parents Gerry and Vi Roach. She loved her extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends. She loved the outdoors, especially her cottage near Kazuby, her books, and her artwork. She had many cats during her life and is survived by her beloved Clara. The family wish to extend a special thanks to the staff at Wentworth Lodge in Dundas for all their kindness and care. Friends will be received by the family on Sunday, August 21 from 1:00 to 4:00 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. All are welcome to come and remember Barbara together; if not fully vaccinated, a mask is required. A Celebration of Life will take place at a future date.
