Till, Asta (nee Senila) – Passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2014 in her 92nd year. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years Arnold, and her son Erik. She is survived by her son Roy and his wife Nicole and 5 grandchildren, Shawn (Leanne), Tammy (Scott), Alana, Natasha, and Mia; and 5 great-grandchildren Leia, Ethan, Matthew, Noah, and Connor. “Mummu” was loved by all and was known for her kind disposition, never complaining, and quietly accepting both the sorrows and beauty of life. She is well remembered for her always effervescent smile. Many thanks to the kind staff at Wentworth Lodge which was her home for the last 4 years. Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 22 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas at 12:00 p.m. and are welcome to remain for Asta’s Service at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Woodland Cemetery. Aglor, Gordon Russell – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Russell Aglor at the age of 85. Gord leaves behind his wife Doreen, his Sweetheart through 64 years of marriage. He is survived by three cherished sons and their wives; Steve and Mary Jane, Doug and Cindy and Gord and Laurie. A proud Grandfather to 7 grandchildren; Michelle (Henrik), Julie (Graeme), Mike (Tammi), Jeff (Jen), Tyler (Jenn), Kody (Cass) and Kyle and 6 great-grandchildren; Annika, Ben, Pierce, Chase and Paige. Gord is survived by one sister Ruth Helm. Many thanks to the employees of University Plaza in Dundas for their many acts of kindness to Gord. Thank you to Dr. A. Kronenwald and the doctors and nurses at Juravinski Hospital for their excellent care. Gord was the proud owner of Hemingway’s Grocery in West Hamilton for 44 years. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will follow. In lieu of flowers donations to the SPCA would be appreciated by the family.

Armstrong, Helen Elizabeth – On Sunday, July 13th, in her 94th year, Helen passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She is reunited with the love of her life Louis, son Rodney (Doreen), grandson Kirk and great-granddaughter Sage Violet. Loving mother to Nelson (Mary), Bill (Jean, predeceased), Keith (Lorraine), Heather (Bob), and Carol (Vince). She will be forever missed by her 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Dear sister to Bud (Fritz) and Edith. Family was Granny’s greatest treasure. Her love for her family was matched only by her love and faithfulness to God. Granny’s kindness, devotion and smile will be missed by all those who’s lives she touched, including all of her friends at Knox Presbyterian Church. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Helen’s Service will take place at KNOX PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 23 Melville Street, Dundas, on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Binkley, Samuel Patrick “Pat” – In the peace of his home, Pat passed away, Thursday, July 10, 2014. Predeceased by his loving wife Jean (nee Morden). He will be lovingly missed and thought of fondly by his son Paddy (Jacquie) and his daughter Sue (Dan Lawlor); his siblings Tom (Jane), Teresa, Susan, Charlie (Barb) and Mike (Marg); and is grandchildren Clayton and Emma. Predeceased by his brother Norm and sisters Jean Morrison and Mary Grace. Pat was a life long farmer and truck driver, no stranger to the determination and hard work of the outdoors. A special thank you is extended to Sam Meiler and his family and to Frances Kanmacher for their impromptu visits and daily newspapers just to keep an eye on Pat. Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where Pat’s Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment at St. Augustine’s Cemetery. Clapham, Charles John (Chuck) – December 16, 1924 – July 9, 2014. In his 90th year after a brief battle with cancer Chuck passed peacefully at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in Hamilton surrounded by family. Predeceased by his wife Thelma, son Chuckie, daughter Joanne and great-grandson Carson. Chuck will be sadly missed by his children Greg (Renee), Ione (Bob) and Rusel (Rosina) and fondly remembered by his 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his loving sister June and her family. He will be fondly remembered by cousins, nieces and nephews. Chuck will also be sadly missed by his close friend Rosalie and the Lancaster family. Chuck was a dignified World War II Veteran. He was a supervisor at International Harvester, and a Plasterer by trade. He also co-owned a video game store in Westdale. He was a volunteer and member of the Dundas Senior Citizen Club. Chuck was also a proud 40 year AA member with Triangle Action Group and a great supporter and friend to many in the organization. He loved golfing, photography, playing pool, gardening, hunting, fishing, playing cards and a huge Hamilton Tiger Cat fan. The family wishes to recognize the care and support he received from the wonderful staff involved with CCAC, VON, Paramed and also the assistance he received from Veterans Affairs Canada. Cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Cattel Centre, 45 Main Street, Dundas (next door to funeral home) on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. As an expression of sympathy a donation made to Camp Trillium would be appreciated by the family.

O’Connell, Marilyn Joyce – After a courageous battle and surrounded by her loving family on July 4th in her 78th year. Proud and adored Mother of Maureen and son-in-law Rick, Tim (Ginny) and Kevin, Cherished Nana to Andrew, Shauna (Brian), and Macey, step grandchildren Joseph, MacKenzie and Madison. Dearly missed by her sister Betty (John), sister-in-law Yvonne, many nieces and nephews and her life-long friend Doris. Sadly missed by Paul and many close friends that supported her through her illness. Predeceased by her sister Mair and brothers Mal and Cliff. Special thanks to the awesome 8W nursing team at the Hamilton General Hospital for their loving care. Cremation has already taken place. Friends are invited to a Celebration of Marilyn’s life on Thursday, July 10th at the Dundas Town Hall 60 Main Street, Dundas, ON with visitation at 1pm, Memorial Service at 2pm followed by refreshments. At Marilyn’s request please wear her favourite colour ‘pink’ or other bright colour, no black. Thank you. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Hamilton SPCA would be appreciated.

Robertson, Paul LeRoy – It is with saddened hearts that the family announces the passing of Paul at the Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton on July 6, 2014 at the age of 71. Husband of Barbara (nee Harloff). Loving father of Renee (Joe), Shawn and Beth. Proud grandfather of Jack and Zoe. Brother of Alex and Bruce. Missed by sisters-in-law Annette Robertson and Kathy Domenichini (Fausto), brothers-in-law Wayne (Liz) and Raymond (Margaret) Harloff and many nieces and nephews. KOZLOWSKI, Jean Julia (nee Sobinski) – Peacefully in the night on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at The Meadows in Ancaster in her ninety-eighth year. Beloved wife of John Louis Kozlowski of Dundas, ON., August 9, 1997. Loving sister to Lennie Dyach, Bernie Sobinski, Gertrude Bednarek, and Evie Teetzel (all predeceased). Dear Mother of John and his wife Anne, of Stoney Creek, Janice and her husband Jeffrey Stutley, of Freelton, Ondrya Kozlowski, of Vancouver, B.C., and Michael and his wife Janet, of Welland. Loving grandmother of John, Gord (deceased), Dean, Melissa, Blake, Michael (Jr.), Sean, and Kyle, and nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Cattel, Eaton, and Chambers Funeral Home 53 Main St., Dundas, Monday, July 14, from 7 –9 p.m. Because Jean possessed such a sympathetic kindness and drew so many people to her over her long life, friends and family will be invited to share their thoughts and reminiscences at 8.00 p.m, in lieu of a formal eulogy. The funeral will follow at ST. AUGUSTINE’S CHURCH (corner of Sydenham and Melville St., Dundas) Tuesday, July 15 at 11.00 a.m. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, followed by reception at St. Augustine’s. Special thanks to PSWs Tammy, Barb, and Sue and The Meadows, who all took such wonderful care of Jean. The family would appreciate prayers of gratitude for a long life, generously lived.

Suddenly at his home on Thursday, July 3, 2014. Ron will be sadly missed by Barb as well as his loving children Jakob, Lukas and Joey. Cherished brother of Perry (Ronda). Ron will also be sadly missed by his nephew CJ and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Ron’s Life will take place at a later date. Survived by her three sons: Peter (Jane Grinder), Michael (Annette) and Vaughan. Missed by her grandchildren: Tyler, Camille, Rylan, Troy, Jesse (Leah), Jackson, Claire, Will, Emily and Grace and her 2 great grandchildren Jordan and Finley. She was one of 7 children of Earl and Mary Grady. Survived by her sister Patricia Zitzer. Friends will be received by the family on Monday evening from 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home 53 Main Street, Dundas. Funeral Tuesday morning at ST. JAMES’ ANGLICAN CHURCH, 137 Melville Street, Dundas at 11 o’clock. Cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
