Passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Wentworth Lodge, in her 92nd year.  Predeceased by her husband Arthur David (1984).  Survived by her three sons: Peter (Jane Grinder), Michael (Annette) and Vaughan. Missed by her grandchildren: Tyler, Camille, Rylan, Troy, Jesse (Leah), Jackson, Claire, Will, Emily and Grace and her 2 great grandchildren Jordan and Finley. She was one of 7 children of Earl and Mary Grady. Survived by her sister Patricia Zitzer. Friends will be received by the family on Monday evening from 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home 53 Main Street, Dundas. Funeral Tuesday morning at ST. JAMES’ ANGLICAN CHURCH, 137 Melville Street, Dundas at 11 o’clock. Cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Carpenter, Jessie Annie Blanche (nee Winegarden) – Passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital, Hamilton, on June 24, 2014, at the age of 101 years.  She is predeceased by her husband Harry (1988) and her son Paul (1978), her father John (1934) and her mother Anna May (1943).  Loving mother of son Peter (Earline) of Hanover, and daughter Anna (Paul) Bowes of Dundas.  She is survived by 5 beloved grandchildren; Steven (Lisa) of Milton, David (Kira) of Guelph, Loretta (John) Bowes of Hamilton, Christopher Bowes of Dundas, Kenneth Bowes of Dundas, and 6 great-grandchildren; Marco, Nita, Nathan, Nadia, Samuel and Sarah.  She is predeceased by her sister Anna, her brothers Richard (Ella) and Austin (Greta); brother-in-law Eric (Lorrine) Carpenter and sister-in-law Theo (Ralph) Flock-Hughes.  Friends will be received by the family on Thursday evening, June 26th from 6-9 p.m. and again on Friday, June 27th from 12:00 p.m. until the time of Jessie’s funeral at 1:00 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  Interment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.  As an alternative to flowers, donations to the charity of one’s choice would be equally appreciated.

Cherished mother of Arlene & David Carpenter,  Theo & Jackie Haalstra,  Jeff & Cindy Haalstra, and Marg Haalstra-Koke & Ken Koke.  Beloved grandmother and great grandmother to Brad & Rebecca Carpenter (Ayden, Isaac and Rowan),  Leah & Klaas Baan (Kathryn, Jonathan), Yvonne & Pete Schuurman, (Victoria, Ashley), Trevor & Jessica Haalstra (Jayne, Katelyn, Allison), Evelyn & Craig Brydges, Rachel, Michelle and Shane Haalstra,  Myles and Madison Koke. Predeceased by infant son Anthony Peter Nov. 20, 1951 – June 18,1952. Dear sister of the late Kathleen Hamstra, the late Jacob Hamstra (Grace), Gerald Hamstra (Theresa), Peter Hamstra (Audrey), Willy VandenBerg (Peter). Lewis, Eldica (nee Greenidge) – Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on Tuesday, June 17, 2014.  Predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Neville Lewis (08/26/94).  Eldica will be dearly loved and missed by her adopted niece Cleary and her husband Edward Cornell.  Great-aunt to Brandon and Marisa Moonsawmy, Candice Moonsawmy, Jewel, Caius, Oceana and Cupressina Butson and cousin-in-law John Lewis and many family in Trinidad and Tobago.  Eldica enjoyed sewing and cooking.  A special thank you to the staff at St. Joseph’s Villa for their care and compassion.  Friends will be received by the family on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  Eldica’s Funeral Mass will be held at Annunciation of Our Lord, 280 Limeridge Road West, Hamilton on Monday at 10:00 a.m.  Interment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.  Donations to the Annunciation of Our Lord Church would be appreciated by the family.

September 18, 1942 – June 10, 2014

Anne Left the earth peacefully on  June 9th, 2014 in her 72nd year.  Anne was comforted by her devoted husband Don and children Russ (Vanessa), Rich (Missi), Gillian (Eric) and left knowing she was loved by her grandchildren Keith and Aiden.  She will be missed by her brother Ian (Betty) McMurtrie and many relatives in Scotland as well as countless friends she touched along her journey.  Anne taught us many lessons such as There is good in everyone, you CAN deadhead fresh flowers, Bats in the belfry is the greatest Pictionary clue ever and most of all you can never be too polite.  We invite you all to share a celebration of her life at the Dundas Legion on Thursday, June 12th from 6-9 pm.  Donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Weatherhead, Janice Ann (April 10, 1952-June 3, 2014) Surrounded by her family, Janice joined her loved ones in heaven on June 3, 2014.  Dear mother of Russell (Trish), Abbotsford, BC.  Cherished Grandmother of five beautiful girls; Jade, Kelsey, Kaitlyn, Reilyn and Alyssa and great-grandson Gabe.  Beloved sister of Jim and Nancy (Bob), Bob and Barb (James and Kelly), Ron (Kathy, Aaron and Bronte), Lee and Kate (Drake and Drina), Laurie and Dave (Breanne, Braydi and Kodi), Joan and Jonathan (Zachary and Zoey).  Predeceased by loving parents Jim and Joyce and siblings Diane (1979), Brian (2011) and sister-in-law Joan D. Shaw, Marylou – Peacefully at home on Sunday, May 25th 2014 in her 80th year.  Loving wife of Jim and cherished mother of David (Deanna), Gerald (Kim), Wayne (Connie) as well as her brother Tom (Pat).  Marylou will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Catlin, Nicholas, Amanda, Emily, William, Craig and Jordan.  Predeceased by her infant son Jeffrey. Connor, Charles Peter “Charlie”

Connor, Charles Peter passed away on Monday May 26, 2014 in his 78th year.  He will be forever remembered and loved by his wife of 50 plus years and best friend, Fernande.  He will remain always in the hearts of his children Mijanou, Michele (Arthur), Michael (Andrea) and Steve (Sherry) and deeply loved papa to Mary, Holly, Charlie and Owen. He spent 30 years as a dedicated teacher in Hamilton.   He was an active member and supporter of the Teachers Credit Union.  He was a gardener at heart and many admired the fruits of his phenomenal green thumbs.  A heartfelt thank you to the amazing professionals on the 3rd floor, Oncology at Juravinski Hospital for their kindness and compassion which made a difficult journey that much easier.  Friends will be received by the family on Thursday May 29, 2014, 2-4 and 6-9 at Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, Dundas, ON.  Funeral Mass will take place at St. Ann’s Church, Ancaster, ON, on Friday May 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.

July 15, 1943 – May 22, 2014

Born July 15, 1943 and reunited with her beloved Joe on May 22, 2014.  Much loved mother of Joanne and Jamie, and very special aunt of Doug and Linda.  Linda has left many warm memories for her brother, Barry Green, Debbie and Dan Lear, T.J., Calla and Katrina Robar, Jason Robar, Dale Robar and Chris Green.  Linda will be remembered by many aunts, uncles and cousins.  A friend to everyone she met, Linda especially treasured her friendship with Lorraine and Keith Armstrong and Barbara Blyde.  Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will follow at White Chapel Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

She was predeceased by husband Cecil (2001).  Loving mother to Gregory (Virginia) and grandmother of Christie (Tyler), Marcy and Timothy and mother-in-law to Debra.  Dorothy had a great passion for baking, gardening, paper tole, bridge and eating sweets.  Special thanks to Mary from St. Elizabeth’s and many caring staff at Amica.  Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday evening from 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where Dorothy’s Service will take place on Thursday at 11:00 a.m.  Interment Grove Cemetery.  If you so wish, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
