Bob Page ski picturePage, Robert McClellan (Bob) – Passed away peacefully at the age of 83, on January 4th 2016 after a battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Cancer. Robert (Bob) Page of Dundas, born on October 15 1932 in Hamilton. Loving husband of Lou Page (nee Walker). Proud father of Christopher (Nina) of Hamilton, Carol of Penticton, British Columbia and Sandra (Grant) of Waterdown. Adoring Papa of Taylor, Jacob, Matthew, Adam and Quinten. Brother of Douglas Page and the late Jim Page and sister-in-law Maryellen. Bob was an avid golfer, and a long-term member of the Dundas Valley Golf and Curling Club. He was a passionate skier, teaching for many years at the Chedoke Ski Club and later on skiing as a member of the Chicopee Ski Club in Kitchener. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Wentworth Lodge in Dundas for their tremendous compassion and care. Visitation will be held at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas on Thursday afternoon and evening from 3-5 & 7-9. Cremation has taken place, and a private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Cancer Assistance Program (CAP) of Hamilton.

Belmore, Joan

Belmore, Joan (nee White) – It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family announces the passing of Joan on January 1, 2016 in her 81st year.  Devoted wife of Ronald (Ron) Belmore for 64 years.  Loving and kind hearted mother of Linda Bullard (Nat), Cathie Belmore, Jo-anne Camp, Nancy McKay (Al), Karen Pollington (Rick), Doris Boyce (Steve), and Marianne Coleman (Dan).  Proud grandmother of Brandon, Sara, Carly, Courtney, Tyler, James, Ryan, Jason, Roni, Matthew, Jordan and Lauren.   Loved by a growing number of great-grand children.  Dear sister of Bryan White (Anne). Predeceased are her brothers Michael (Sue) and Peter (Dana). Dedicated niece of Joan Rousell (Jack).  Joan will be missed by her extended family and many friends. Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St. Dundas, on Tuesday January 5th from 2-4p.m., and again from 6-8p.m. The service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday January 6th at 11a.m.. Joan lived a selfless life.  She was happiest when spending time with her family and friends.  She volunteered her time to many causes and was a member of the Dundas Legion, Br. 36.  Special thanks to Dr. Oczpowski and the staff at the Hamilton General Hospital, 7th Floor. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation and also the Juravinski Cancer Center, Hamilton ON.

 

Keller, Margaret Catherine (nee Craig)

August 23, 1924 – December 24, 2015

Keller, Margaret Catherine (nee Craig) – Peacefully at Innisfree House with loving family by her side, Margaret passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2015. Predeceased by her husband William.  Loved always by her sons Craig (Linda Shepard) and Cameron (Cindy) and her grandchildren Scott, Erin, Christopher and Rachel.  Predeceased by her sister Isabel Dougher.  Margaret was a lifetime member of Knox Presbyterian Church and long time employee of Stevenson & Lehocki Chartered Accountants in Burlington.  Friends will be received by the family on Thursday, December 31st from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Margaret’s Service at 11:00 a.m. at KNOX PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 23 Melville Street, Dundas.  Cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place at a later date.  If you so wish, donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Knox Presbyterian Church or Innisfree House, 2375 Homer Watson Blvd., Kitchener, ON N2P 0E9, would be appreciated by the family.

The Lord, in His infinite wisdom and love, took to His eternal, heavenly home,   John  DeSterke on Sunday,  December  20, 2015, in his 84th year. Dear, loving and devoted husband of Jane.  Cherished father of Pat and Pete Selles, Gary and Martha DeSterke, Lois and Pete Feijer and John and Cynthia  DeSterke, Dear grandfather and great-grandfather to 24 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Visitation at Maranatha Free Reformed Church, 1114 Old Mohawk Road, Ancaster, on Tuesday, December 22,  from 7 – 9 p.m.  Funeral service at Maranatha  Free Reformed Church, Old Mohawk Road, Ancaster on Wednesday, December 23, at 10 a.m. Pastor C. Pronk officiating.  Private family interment following the service.  If desired, donations in his memory may be made to Rehoboth Christian School in Copetown, Ontario.

October 23, 1982 – November 27, 2015

In his 34th year in Waterloo.  Much loved son of Ed and Marlene Chambers, cherished brother of Krista & Curtis Ashley and was predeceased by his brother Greg (2014) and is survived by his sister in law Shawna.  Cherished uncle of Will and Grace.  Predeceased by Don & Susie Chambers and Art & Mary Edworthy.  A  private memorial celebration will take place at a later date.  If so desired, donations to Millgrove United Church, 370 Concession 5 West, Millgrove ON L0R 1V0 would be appreciated by the family.

Loving father to Paul (Judy), Donna Higgins, Nancy (Ron) McKimm, Joan (John) D’Ambrose. Caring grandfather to Don, Mike, Dan Higgins; Chris, Mike, Steve Wagg; Jason and Mark Coveyduck. Quigley Rob Lorne passed away suddenly in his 57th year. Loving father of Kaitlin, younger brother of Donna, Roy (Charmaine), Heather (Dennis) Toth and Stewart and Nancy. Uncle Rob will be missed by Trevor and Jeanette of Brantford and Tim, Devin and Kennedy Louch of Caledonia. Rob was a dedicated mason and belonged to OZIAS lodge # 508. In his role of Junior Warden he was always available to support the needs of his lodge members. He will be remembered as a trustworthy contributor. Rob loved people, animals, travel, his time with cherished friends and the green spaces of Hamilton. Sadly missed and greatly loved was “our Robbie.”  Cremation has taken place future internment will be private. Friends are welcome to attend a visitation and reception On Saturday November 21st, 2015 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Cattel Centre located beside Turner Family Funeral Home 53 Main St. Dundas, ON. At the request of the family, in Rob’s memory donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Royal Botanical Gardens.

McGILL, Carolyn Janet (nee Strauch) – Passed away suddenly in her sleep on November 15th, 2015. Wife of the late Don McGill. Stepmother of Sherry-Lee LaFrance. Grandmother of Matthew and Adam LaFrance. Loved sister of Marolyn Cook (late Bruce) and David (Marnie) Strauch. She was the daughter of Kathryn and Barney Portsmith and the late Arthur Strauch. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews; Sandy, Allen, Rob, Jeff, Amy Beth, and their spouses. She was a special great aunt to Ethan, James, Emily, Ethan, and Peyton.  Carol was an active member in the choir of Copetown United Church. She taught for many years at C.F.B. Petawawa returning to Hamilton after retiring to live closer to family. Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street,  Dundas on Wednesday November 18th from 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.. The service will be held at Copetown United Church, 2218 Governor’s  Rd. Copetown, on Thursday November 19th at 11 a.m.. Whittaker, Pauline (nee Smith) – After a courageous battle with cancer, Pauline passed away in her 80th year surrounded by her family. Cherished wife of Joseph. Loving mother to Steven (Janina) and Gail (Rob) Skarica. Caring Nana to Amie (Trevor), Shane (Jenna) and Justin. Survived also by her brothers and sisters in England. Pauline was born in England and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1972.   Pauline was a long time member of the Ladies Auxillary at the R.C.L Br. 36 and also enjoyed daily shopping trips and Bingo with her many friends and family. A celebration of Pauline’s life will take place at the R.C.L. Br. 36 on Monday November 16th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to Help a Child Smile Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Charlton, Blake – Peacefully in his 87th year on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at his home with his loving family by his side.  Cherished husband of Elizabeth Kitchen Charlton, loving father of David (Tina), loving grandfather of Jennifer and Danielle (Troy).  Loving stepfather to Paul (Cathie), loving grandfather of Jake.  Blake was predeceased by his wife Josephine and brothers Arnold and George.  Blake worked for the CIBC for 44 years.  When not working his passions included fishing, curling and lawn bowling.  He was also a dedicated and faithful member of the Rock Chapel United Church.  Friends will be welcomed by the family on Thursday, November 12 at 1:00 pm followed by the Celebration of Blake’s life at 2:00 pm with a reception afterwards at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  A family interment will take place at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Rock Chapel United Church, 451 Rock Chapel Rd., Dundas ON L9H 5E2 or to McMaster Children’s Hospital MACKIDS would be appreciated by the family.
