It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Paul Dennis Turkstra on October 30, 2021, after a brief battle with melanoma cancer. His earthly presence will be forever missed by his wife Jennifer Chitty, son Bryce, mother and father Elaine and Ron Turkstra, brothers Mark (Tanya) Turkstra, Andrew (Julie) Turkstra, Ian Turkstra, sister Marisa (Pat) Arnold, grandmother Lilian Searby, fathers-in-law David (Michelle) Chitty, Richard Gibson, sister-in-law Jessica (Johcey) Greene, brother-in-law Jared (Crystal) Chitty and his many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was a deeply loved and cherished uncle to nieces Emily, Addison, Maya, Payton, Brianna, Shylah, Alyx and to nephews Tyson, Joseph, Anthony and William. Predeceased by his grandfathers Wilfred Turkstra, Dennis Searby and Lynn Taylor, grandmother Trudy Taylor, mother-in-law Sherry Gibson and Cousin Michael Bennardo.
Paul will be fondly remembered at Smith and Long as the dedicated Manager of National Accounts where he was always willing to share his knowledge. He was known as a great guy with a good sense of humour and a true friend. He loved coaching his son’s hockey team and was a loyal fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was happy when golfing, fishing, travelling, reading, and spending time with family and friends. He was a loving and caring husband and father. He was a truly gentle and giving soul.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 4th at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St, Dundas, from 2PM – 4PM and 6PM – 8PM. A funeral service will be held at St. Augustine’s Parish, 58 Sydenham St, Dundas, on Friday, November 5th at 10AM. Due to the current restrictions, seating is limited.

Passed away peacefully at Juravinski Hospital, on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the age of 96. Beloved husband of Arlene (nee Bowman) (Willis) for 48 years. Loved father of Ruth Giles (Ian) and Joan Richardson and step-father of the late David Willis (Diane) and the late Marilyn Gater. Cherished grandfather of Kim (Duane), Brad (Terri), Todd (Becky), Geoff, Rob (Dawn), Kelly (Brent), Amanda, Amie and Jocelyn (Cam) and thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Dear brother of the late Hilda Robinson and the late John Gallifent and brother-in-law of George Bowman (late Joan).
Herb was a veteran with the RCAF serving overseas in WWII, a long time employee of Westinghouse and a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 36, Dundas. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

12 July 1983 – 18 October 2021 Christopher died quietly at home. Beloved son of Katie & Ed Henderson. Missed by brothers Chad (Lianna), Sam(Mandy), sister Jenn(Chris), and grandmother Annette White. Predeceased by his brother Justin, uncle Ricky White, and grandfather Rodney White. Beloved nephew of Anne Wood (Jim), Ernie White, and Shelly White, and nieces & nephews. The family would also like to mention his dear, dear friend whom Christopher loved and who gave so very much of himself to Christopher’s life: Paul Chappel.

Mary passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 21, 2021 in her 99th year, at the Meadows Long Term Care Home in Ancaster, Ontario. Wife of the late John (Jack) Jukes (2005), she loved and missed him everyday. She will be dearly missed by her son, John (Megan), and her grandson, Alan (Michiyo Aoki). Also saddened are her extensive family and friends in Canada and Britain. She was predeceased by her brother Bernard Overton.
Mary was born in Wellington, Shropshire, UK, and lived a wonderful, full and happy life. She had many interests, from baking to sewing to sports, that she enjoyed while she was able.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Ancaster Meadows, especially from the Panabaker wing, who were absolute gold for her and made her last challenging few years as enjoyable as possible.

Born in Geleen, the Netherlands, Jack’s soul departed this world on the Feast of St. Margaret Mary and St. Hedwig. Jack is the third of five children, born to Eduard Joseph Weusten (+2008) and Aaltje Maria (Bruinsma) Weusten (+1993). Predeceased by his younger brother, Felix (2018), Jack is fondly remembered by his surviving big brother John, and much loved sisters Frances and Susan, nieces and nephews (Randy, Deborah, Daniel, Michael, Stephanie & Kira). In 1949 Jack and his family left the Netherlands and immigrated to Ontario. As a young man Jack traveled and lived in Northern Ontario, Montreal, New York City and Vancouver before his tour of duty with the Australian Army, Anzacs, in South Vietnam. After his return to Canada, Jack married Carol Macneil in 1973. Together they raised their eight children in the Hamilton area: Sarah, Paul, Mark & Anna (twins), Damian, Mary, Teresa and Jacinta. He is loved and missed by his children, their spouses, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, William, Elisia, Elora, Neil, Dominic, James, David, Thomas, Leona-Marie, Nathan, Angela, Anna, Jacobus, Johannes, Alanah-Maria, Peiter-Joseph, Koenraad, Nicholaas, Matthijs, Theodoor, Tobias, Franseska, Michael and Urban. Jack retired from the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic School Board in 2008, with more than 28 years of cheerful service. Friends will be received by the family on Monday 18 October from 2-4 & 7-9 at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Richard was born May 23, 1952 and died suddenly early in the morning of Saturday, October 9, 2021. Much loved and missed by his wife and best friend of 36 years, Gwen. He is survived by his brother-in-law Tom (Doreen) Sears. Missed by his nieces and nephews Stephanie (Jeff) Frisbee, Steven (Penny) Sears, Val (John) Sauder Robertson of Edmonton and his great-nieces and nephews Nate, Amelia, Tynan, Jaiden, Ayla, Caia, Gregory, and Cassandra. With heavy hearts, we share the news of the unexpected passing of Stephen (Steve) Charles Harrigan, 58, of Mount Hope on October 10, 2021.
Steve was born in Paisley, Scotland in 1962 and immigrated to Canada in 1964. He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Jennifer (nee Douglas), his loving parents Charlie and Pat, sister Diane (Lorne), step-daughter Jessica (Caleb), niece Sara and nephew Ryan. He will also be dearly missed by his extended family and his many friends.
Steve was a gentle soul who adored gardening and animals. He loved his family deeply, and took pride and found great joy in them all, particularly Jenny and Jessi. He loved going for rides on his motorcycle or simply relaxing at the cottage with his dogs.
Visitations will occur at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Dundas, on October 19 from 2:00 – 4:00p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00p.m.. Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a short illness on Thursday, October 7, 2021, in her 75th year. Devoted mother to James Leroux and Matthew (Emily) Innes-Leroux and loving grandmother to Bruce. Survived by her sisters; Moneen and Nancy, Val was the ‘fun aunt’ to several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Bob (2017). Val’s true calling was working in childcare and she touched the lives of many families. A private ceremony was held at the Turner Family Funeral Home with burial at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
