Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on September 1, 2022 at age 64. Survived by loving, caring wife Joanne (nee Peraziana); son Andrew (Megan); daughter Karlee; Grandson and light of his life, John. Predeceased by parents John and Marie and brother Doug. Survived by brother Dan (Janice); sister Laura (Kent) Ginther and sister-in-law Anna. Passed away peacefully at home on Sunday August 28th, 2022, in his 90th year with his family by his side. Beloved husband and bestfriend of Norma (nee Carty) for over 65 years. Loving father of Debbie (Paul) and Jacquie (Brad). Devoted Papa to Shelby, Jacob, Meagan, Sarah and Kelly. Survived by sister Elizabeth and brothers Emil, Tony and Eugene. Predeceased by sisters Medi, Rosa, Helen, and brothers Rudy and Karl. Adam was an avid soccer player with the Hungarian Turil, Germania Club and Slovak Club. His favourite place to be was at the cottage in Lion’s Head. Adam was a kind and loving man who loved his family (and his treats). Two hard working hands laid to rest. Cremation has taken place. Donations in memory, can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Opa at the age of 90 packed up his fishing rod, pulled his boat out of the water and is now reunited with Janna (Oma). He will be missed by his sons Ron, Bernie ( Donna), David ( Sherry), and Joe (Cheryl). Grandchildren Tyler (Jackie), Leanna (Josh) Jennifer (Joey) Lisa (Vince) and Devon. Great grandchildren Raina and Easton. A visitation/celebration of life will be held at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St. Dundas on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Wife of John, sister of Heather, mother of son, Ashley, and daughters, Nicola, Julia and Philippa; “Nana” of Dana, Cameron, Dylan, Nathan, Graydon, Avery, Addison and Cayley. Ann was a teacher in the sixties at Hillfield-Strathallan Schools and Westmount High School. In the seventies she graduated from the University of Toronto as a Speech Pathologist and spent her remaining working years with the Hamilton-Wentworth R.C. School Board. An avid reader and popular member of her Book Club, Ann was also a tennis player and fan of the game. She is loved and missed by her entire circle of friends and family. Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St. Dundas, on Thursday, August 25 from 5-7p.m. for a visitation. A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, August 26 at 11a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow. If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Parkinson Society Canada.
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma and friend on August 20, 2022. She will be forever missed by her daughter Moira and son Colin (Sandy). Predeceased by her son Robbie (1981) and husband Jack (2008).
She was the proudest Grandma to Scott (Jacqui), Ross and Alison (Greg). Loving Great Grandma to Bailley, Cameryn, Darcey, Ian, Irie and Miles. Special Grandma to Jackson and Caitlin. She will be missed by all her family in Wishaw, Scotland… as well as many friends and neighbours in Dundas.
As per moms request “there will be a private family graveside service” and burial at Grove Cemetery, in Dundas, on Tuesday August 23, 2022 at 1:00 pm. The family will arrange a Celebration of Life at a later date.
We would like to thank the staff and residents of Bertram Place Retirement Home for the love and support shown to mom and all the family over the past three months. We will forever be thankful!
On August 16, 2022 at the age of 86. Cherished mother of Ellen (Frank Vriezen), Jan, Alison (Bill Hountalas), Heather (Spencer VanWolferen), John, Jim, and Jody (Laura Baskott). Beloved grandmother of Rachael, Devin, Stacey, Zoe, Mikie, Russ, Olivia, Thomas, Austin S, Liam, Austin B, and Jacob. She loved her brother Don (Sharon), and ever in her heart were her late sister Kay (George Murrison), and her parents Gerry and Vi Roach. She loved her extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends. She loved the outdoors, especially her cottage near Kazuby, her books, and her artwork. She had many cats during her life and is survived by her beloved Clara. The family wish to extend a special thanks to the staff at Wentworth Lodge in Dundas for all their kindness and care. Friends will be received by the family on Sunday, August 21 from 1:00 to 4:00 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. All are welcome to come and remember Barbara together; if not fully vaccinated, a mask is required. A Celebration of Life will take place at a future date. Mary E Beech passed away at the age of 96 on August 17, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton. She will be missed by her children and grandchildren: Beth Beech (Greg Gould), Allie and Ian Penner; Roger Beech, Sarah and Nathan Beech; Paul Buzzo, Ella Buzzo; Joan Beech (Douglas Falshaw) Chris and Kim Falshaw and Joshua Beech Falshaw; Scott Beech (Cindy Lebold) Isaac, Micah, Thomas and Laura Beech; extended family and friends.
Predeceased by her husband Murray Beech, daughter Nan Beech, sister Jessie Rogers, brother David Rogers, and parents Jessie and Colin Rogers.
Mary was active with her family and friends while always giving back through her volunteer work. She had a dry sense of humour and an intelligence that added to discussions whether it be about a book, art or an action plan. She made friends wherever she was: volunteering with Grandmothers of Steel, Unitarian church, square dancing, Carnegie and Hamilton Art Galleries, St Joseph’s hospital, neighbour to neighbour, NDP campaigns, Harvest Guatemala, and while working in a bookstore and fine jewellery boutique.
Mary’s family would like to thank Mary’s friends as well as the people at Residence on Augusta, Shalom village residence and long term care for ushering Mary through the challenges of aging with Alzheimers during Covid. We were moved by the compassion of the staff at St. Joseph Hospital who made her comfortable during her last days. The care they gave made the hardest days more bearable and for that we are grateful.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation August 22th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, followed by a service at 2:00pm at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. The family asks that all attending please wear a mask when indoors. There will be a private burial service with immediate family following the service.
September 18, 1947 – August 16, 2022. Dagmar passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital. Loving wife to Hermann Luft. Devoted mother to Marcus (Laura), Alexander (Catherine), and Darius. Proud Oma to Gemma, Petra, Silas, and Audrey. Dagmar will be deeply missed by her siblings, Iris (Martin), Peter (Virginia), and Andrew (Nancy), as well as her cherished friend, Susan Hill. Predeceased by her parents, Georg and Inge Fischer. Born in Birkenau, Germany, Dagmar emigrated to Canada at the age of 8 and spent much of her life in the Dundas/Waterdown area. Known for her caring nature, her decades-long support of the Toronto Blue Jays, and for always feeling cold, no matter the temperature. Wherever you are now, we’re certain it’s turtleneck weather. Friends and family to be received at Turner Family Funeral Home in Dundas on August 20, 2022, from 1-3pm. In memory of Dagmar, donations to the Hamilton Conservation Foundation and/or the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by her family.
Stefan passed away at Hamilton General Hospital on May 8th, 2022 in his 79th year. Father to Dave (Leanne) and Heidi (Brian). Grandfather to Corey (Grace), Jamie (Sneki), Melissa (Anthony), Keira and Hannah. Great-grandfather to Paige, Zoey and Hunter. Son to Heinrich and Anna. Brother to George, Maria, Bernhart, Helmut, France and Elizabeth.
Stefan was a long time employee at Dofasco and a long time member of the Germania Club.
Celebration of life will take place Sunday, August 21st, 1:00 – 3:00 pm at the Germania Club located at 863 King Street East, Hamilton.

Eileen Levasseur passed away with her family at her side in Hamilton, Ontario at the age of 80, after a protracted illness which she faced with courage, grit, and her signature blend of pragmatism and wry humour.
Her memory will continue to be a blessing to her daughter Treasa, her son-in-law Geoffrey, and her granddaughter Emma (Jacob), as well as her sisters Brigid (Billy), Mary (Joe) and Nuala, and her extended family and cherished friends around the world.
Eileen dreamt often over the last year of reuniting with family who preceded her into the great mystery: her husband of 45 years, Léon, her beloved son Kelly, and her brothers James, Denis, Eamon, Joseph and Liam, dear Biddy, and her parents. The week before she died, she described ‘her’ corner of Heaven as a place of ‘merriment and music, where not even God wags a finger at you’, and was looking forward to the fun to be had. She wanted you to know you’re all invited and there’s plenty of room for you there.
Eileen was born in Nenagh, Tipperary, Ireland, and worked as a bank teller before she emigrated to Canada in 1968 on a great adventure. Married in 1970 in Winnipeg, she was actively involved in the Irish Association before moving to North Bay in 1981. There she led the children’s choir at Holy Name, and found her calling working with the Gateway Theatre Guild and the Nipissing Stage Company. She was a devoted caregiver to her husband in his last years, and subsequently moved to Dundas to be closer to her daughter.
Eileen was, over the years, an avid knitter, a sports-watching enthusiast (especially ‘the’ curling), a card shark, a quick wit, a mystery novel aficionado, a champion for the underdog, a steadfast friend and a self-professed terrible cook. To be loved by Eileen was to be relentlessly teased, but as sharp as she could be, she was equally tender, ready with a listening ear and a warm word. Her favourite piece of advice was ‘This above all, to thine own self be true’.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11am on September 8th 2022, at St Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 299 Airport Road, North Bay, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association. The family wishes to send a thank you to the staff of the palliative ward at St Peter’s Hospital for their tender and respectful care.
