It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Orest Kopachiwsky, in his 76th year, announce his passing on May 13, 2022. Orest was born on July 9th, 1946 in Ingolstadt, Bavaria to loving parents Paul and Oksana Kopachiwsky as they fled their beloved homeland Ukraine, for a better life in Canada. They settled and prospered in Hamilton where Orest welcomed a baby sister, Dana. He attended school in Hamilton, culminating at McMaster University with a BA in Psychology. He pursued a career in the photographic industry but the highlight of his adult life was marrying Bev, and together they raised two children, Rick and Alanna. Orest was thrilled to welcome Nic Drake, his son-in-law to the family fold and was over the moon to hold his first granddaughter, Laya in his arms. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who was known for his big heart, friendly sociable nature, and his love for cycling. He cared deeply about his family, his roots, and the plight of Ukraine. He will be remembered for his kindness, his honesty, and his open heart. Vichnaya Pamyat. After a difficult struggle with dementia, “Granny” is now at peace. Predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Jack. Lovingly remembered by daughters, Debbie Musson (Bruce) and Leslie Powers (Craig). Will be dearly missed by her brother Bob Griffin, seven grandchildren (one predeceased) and seven great-grandchildren. Shirley was a lifelong resident of Dundas and one of the longest surviving members of Knox Presbyterian Church. Over her lifetime, Shirley served as a switchboard operator, pharmacy assistant, department store supervisor, operated a monogramming business and lovingly cared for her grandchildren. An accomplished crafter, she excelled at sewing, knitting, folk art painting and baking delicious pies. The family is grateful to the staff of Bertram Place and St. Joseph’s Villa, Balsam Trail, for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be received at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Dundas on Wednesday, May 18th from 7 to 9 p.m. The family requests that MASKS BE REQUIRED. A Memorial Service hosted by Knox Presbyterian Church will be held at St. Mark’s United Church, 1 Lynndale Dr., Dundas on Friday, May 20th at 10:30 a.m. and the family asks that MASKS BE REQUIRED. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maureen (Mary) Kidd.
Maureen was born in Glasgow, Scotland on March 13, 1932 and came to Canada in 1956. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank, in July, 2020 and brother and sisters, John, Margaret and Norah.
Maureen will be sadly missed by her children: Frances (Dan), Angela (Ed) and son Steven, (his dog Stirling), grandchildren: Dylan, Haley, Katie and Hannah and great grandchildren: Henry, Libby and Vivienne.
Maureen worked in the retail industry in Hamilton for many years. Retirement in 1990 gave Maureen and Frank the opportunity to spend 20+ winters in Indian Rocks, Florida at the Atlantis Club.
Maureen loved to visit the casino, play bingo and was always the life of the party. She could belt out a tune and made her presence known wherever she went. Maureen never let her hearing impairment prevent her from being a social butterfly and making many friends. She treasured her outings with her girlfriends. Her sharp memory enabled her to recall everyone’s names and birthdays. She provided comic relief with her Grannyisms.
Maureen believed in angels and that “her ship was coming in”. She was partial to a good cup of tea and a murder mystery. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, whom she loved with all her heart.
Maureen and Frank were married for 68 years and she was devastated when she lost the love of her life in July 2020. Maureen was a devout Catholic, always had her rosary close at hand and regularly attended Sunday mass prior to her declining health.

Matriarch of the Turner Clan, Katherine was a birder, a dreamer, an environmentalist, a fitness devotee, a lover of the Arctic Coast and its people, a party & safari planner, a philanthropist, a preserver of family lore, a puzzler, a reader, a supporter of the Arts, a teacher, a tree hugger and counter, a walker and long-distance hiker, and a world traveller.
Katherine was the second youngest of the 7 children of Howard & Minnie Turner of Whitevale ON. Her siblings were Ken Turner, Helen Gough, Marjorie Webster, David Turner, Alice Lapp and Bill Turner.
Katherine was much loved and admired by her nieces, nephews and their families. They include Elizabeth Turner, John Turner, Mary Murray, David William Turner (2012), Bob Dempster (2011), Jo Anne Beiler, Ron Webster, Jane Webster, David Sylvester Turner (2013), Bryon Turner, Shawn Turner, Lloyd Turner, Eleanor Hrabi, David Lapp, Wendy Moriarty, Debbie Kilpatrick, Will Turner and Kim Iwamoto.
Distant cousins Lois & Jack MacInnes of Palmerston and Norma & Karsten Hundborg in Denmark became dear friends. Katherine was privileged to be godmother to James Welsh.
Katherine worked to put herself through medical school, graduating in 1957 from The University of Toronto. She joined a general practice in Leaside but soon Alberta beckoned and Katherine accepted a position on the staff at the Dobson Clinic in Grande Prairie. She returned to Ontario in 1971 to study pathology. Katherine was on the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital in London until her retirement in 1992.
Katherine treasured her many dear friends especially Nancy Tuttle, Margrieta Edels, Grace Lumbers (2020), Terry Needham & Marilyn Kertoy, Lavarre Clark, Daisy McCallum and Jackie Lutz. All travelled with Katherine and tried to keep up. She enthusiastically participated in Nature London, the London District Weavers & Spinners guild, Bosom Buddies, fitness classes at The Mount, Senior Alumni lectures, the London Symphonia and live theatre.
Katherine was the loving and devoted partner of Dr. James (Jay) R. Anderson (2022). His children David, James, Ian and Audrey Anderson and their families brought her much joy.
We will miss her love and non-judgemental support. She was affectionate, feisty, generous, frugal, determined and a romantic. Her laughter resonates. She has enriched our lives profoundly. There are so many wonderful memories.
We are grateful to her gentle caregiver Coleen from Home Instead. Katherine received wonderful care from the amazing staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice, London.
Katherine’s ashes will be scattered on her cottage property in the fall.

Born and raised in Montreal, she is predeceased by her adoring parents Andrew and Stephanie Bucko and loving grand-daughter Sarmie Jurcich. Beloved and cherished wife of Thomas for 35 wonderful years, loving and devoted mother of Kathy (Kelly) Fleck, Carol Jurcich (Alex), Liana (Wally) London, Fabian Peretin Jr, daughter-in-law Sandra Carranza and devoted fur momma of Holly.
Treasured Baba and Grandma to Natalie (Jeremy), George (Mallory), Joshua, Candy-Anne, Amber-Lynne (Ashton), (Johmar), Michael, Wally Jr (Calla) David (Vanessa), Nick (Samantha), Katrina (Tyler), Kaitlyn, Jayden, and Samantha (Donny). Adored GG and great-grandma to Braxton, Khloe, Kanan, Hunter, Rowan, Lucas, Mackenzie, Makayla, Ilijah, Willow, Mija, Easton, Melody, Devin, Dax, Dayne and Lincoln-John.
Nina retired from a dedicated career at Airlink Transportation, with an outgoing personality that welcomed everyone. Deeply devoted to her family, Nina always ensured we had big family gatherings most especially for her favourite holidays Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving. She greatly treasured family times together and summertime backyard BBQ’s. In her younger days Nina was welcomed into and embraced the Croatian culture with her whole heart. Alongside our father Fabian Peretin, she could often be found engaged in lively chats around the kitchen table or singing and dancing the night away to polkas and waltzes. Later years would find her relaxing at their trailer on Lake Huron, or traveling the world with her eternal love Tom, her rock, protector and devoted co-pilot. In her retirement, Nina loved to relax in her backyard pool, admire her beautiful gardens and loved watching and feeding the birds with Tom and Holly always by her side.
Nina was the most generous, kind, selfless soul. She was always thinking of others and had the biggest heart made of pure gold. She lived each day for her family; always showering them with unconditional love. She leaves behind a legacy of Love, for all generations to carry forward.
Special thanks to Dr. Mark Moores, for his dedication and commitment to her well-being; to Wingham Hospital for their compassionate and excellent care; and to CCU nurses Salah and Geza as well as Respiratory nurses Tracey and Tigist (her guardian angel) of St. Mary’s Hospital Kitchener for the dignity, respect and compassion lovingly provided to her and the family in her final days.
Heartfelt thank you and immense gratitude to trusted and caring neighbours Marie, Susan and Ray as well as special friend PSW Ally for their never-ending love and support during her most difficult years. Nina cherished her family and friends with all her heart. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by many lifelong friends, neighbours and relatives.
Visitation will be held on Monday May 2, 2022 from 6 – 9 pm at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St Dundas. Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday May 3, 2022 at 12:00 pm at the same location. Proud great grandma of Amanda (Stephen), Johanna, Stephen, Ryan, Adam, and Josiah. Bess was delighted to welcome her first great-great grandchild, Maya, a month before her own 100th birthday. Predeceased by her beloved husband Allan, son Brian, son-in-law Jim, daughter-in-law Dorothy, grandson Daniel, sister Doreen (Jerry), and brother Frank (Joyce). Bess will be remembered by her daughter-in-law Noreen and family. She was a special aunt to Val (Bruce), Patricia, Mike (Sandy), and Lesley (Bill) and their families. A long-time member of Christ Church Anglican, Flamborough and a founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Greensville Volunteer Fire Department. For her dedicated volunteering at Christ Church, she was awarded the Order of Niagara in September 2008. Thanks to the staff of Valley Trail at St Joseph’s Villa, especially Marilou and Minnie, for their care and compassion. Loving mother of three, passed away peacefully on March 29th, 2022 at the age of 56 at her home in Burlington, ON.
Patricia is survived by her husband; Brad Rennick, her children; Max, Alex and Abby, her sisters; Sandy Marsh, and Laurie Robertson, and her animals; Lucy, Izzy, Eddy, and grand-dog Henry. Her parents; Richard and Marlene Robertson predecease her.
Patricia was born in Hamilton on April 14th, 1965 to Richard and Marlene. She met her husband, Brad Rennick at the Great Canadian Soup Company in 1980 and wed October 1st 1988. She welcomed her first born, Max on July 7th, 1993; her second born Alex on April 7th, 1995; and her daughter Abby on March 11th, 1997.
Patricia was a devoted mother, volunteer, and animal lover. She enjoyed spending her time volunteering, helping those in need in hospice and SPCA. On occasion, she would adopt her favourite animals, although she would have taken them all home if she could. She was a stay at home mom, and took great pride in raising her three children, the most important part of her life. Patricia was a kind, gentle soul and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A private funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on April 5th at Turner Family Funeral Home, where family will celebrate Patricia. Donations may be offered to Ontario SPCA, and the Epilepsy Foundation.

Scott asked to be cremated. A celebration of life will take place at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, on Saturday, April 2, at 2:00 p.m. A brief reception will follow. Born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Scott was raised and completed his early education on Prince Edward Island. Grandson of an immigrant merchant from Lebanon, Scott sharpened his interest in business as a manager trainee with K-Mart Canada, then went on to complete a BBA in Accounting from the University of Prince Edward Island, an MBA in Marketing from McMaster University, and a Ph.D. on the marketing of financial services from the University of Bradford, UK.
Although he was a faculty member of the Brock University School of Business and, later, associate professor in the Michael G. DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University, although he authored numerous academic and trade articles and co-authored a number of books, Scott did not want to be thought of as an academic.
A self-described introvert, Scott traveled extensively as CEO of the company he and his business partner founded, logging more than a million miles in the air and thousands of hours speaking at conferences, working with clients and leading his team. But, when he came home, nothing pleased him more than to tend his gardens or stretch out on the couch with a good, thick book.
Scott had a well of grit, courage and grace that allowed him to live more than four-and-a-half years with stage-four colon cancer while maintaining an excellent quality of life. He fought hard but knew when it was time to stop. Scott had a deep reverence for all life, and will be remembered by his family, friends and colleagues for his knife-sharp business sense, his understated humour, and his quiet kindness to all.
