Robillard, Ethel Beulah – Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on Monday, October 6, 2014, in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Eldon (1995), and loving mother of James (Margaret) of Simcoe, Carol (Herb White), of Cayuga, Len (Evelyn) of Ancaster, Barbara Robillard (Ken) of Dundas, Laura (Brian Book) of Millgrove, the late Alan (Arlene) and the late Mark (Oksana). Ethel will be sadly missed by her 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, her sister Joan Fink, 3 brothers; John, Ken and Jim Lewis, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters; Marjorie, Edith, Bruce, Cecil, Murray and Grace. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where the Service for Ethel will be held Friday morning at 11 o’clock. Interment Mt. Zion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Cedar Grove at St. Joseph’s Villa for the care and compassion shown to Ethel.

Blysniuk, Dorothy Diane (nee Howes) – With immense sorrow we announce the passing of Dorothy Diane Blysniuk on October 3, 2014 in her 85th year. Born in Dundas, February 19, 1930. The daughter of the late George and Margaret Howes. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her loving husband Alex Blysniuk. Greatly loved and missed by her children Carol (Bill) Chesney, George (Shari) Anderson, Debra (Wayne) Anderson-Porter, Cheryl (Don) Forshner, Patti Dyment and son in law Gerald Baresich. She was the beloved grandmother of Shane Phillipo, David Phillipo, Rachel Anderson-Gleeson, Beth Taylor, Amie Barter, Leah Anderson, Zachary Anderson, James Porter, Nicole Porter, Chelsea Forshner, Trisha Forshner, Sarah Dyment-Smith, Jessica Dyment and fourteen beautiful great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her first husband Ronald James Anderson from Troy, ON. Predeceased by much loved sisters and brothers, Ruth Howes, Helen Paddon, Alex Howes, Jean Patterson, Bill Howes, Grace Webb, Sue Jaggard and Betts Nelson. A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Friday October 10th from 1-4 p.m. at the Collins Brewhouse (downstairs) 33 King Street, West Dundas. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, (ICU Unit) or St. Joseph’s Health Care London (Ivey Eye Institute).

Snelling, Doris May – Peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital on Friday, October 3, 2014. Predeceased by her husband Chuck of 58 years. Dearley loved and missed by her children Joan Widdup (late Robert), Charles (Gisele), Donald (Sandra) and Jennifer Wolkowski (Frank); son-in-law Steve; brother Paul Inglehart; sisters Vera Hiese (Bill) and Juanita Nagy (Julius); 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her daughters Deborah Kidd and Catherine Plevak; brothers Gord, Bill, Lloyd and Jack and sister Grace. Doris was a member of Binkley United Church and member of Unit 5 of the Church. Special thanks are extended to the staff at Hardy Terrace Nursing Home for their care and compassion and to the nurses and doctors at Brantford General. Friends will be received by the family on Monday evening from 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas where Doris’ Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Pring, William Charles “Billy” – On October 2nd, after a short bout with cancer, Billy lost his fight. He leaves behind his wife Donna of 22 years. Billy drove taxi for over 30 years, most recently for Hamilton Taxi (169). His love of the Montreal Canadiens and driving cab was rivalled only by his love for his family, 7 children, 8 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas where Billy’s Service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Peacefully at her residence, on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, in her 78th year. Loving wife and friend of Dick Weatherston (predeceased). Glennys will be sadly missed by her honourable daughter Marion, and Rick, and their much loved children David and Sara. She will also be missed by her sister Heather Inksetter, (and David, predeceased). Glennys also had two brothers; Russell and spouse Pauline (both predeceased) and Joe Ivison, and his wife Shirley. Glennys was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a dear great- and great-great aunt to many. Friends and family will be received on Friday, October 3, 2014 from 2-4 pm, and 6-8 pm, at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where a Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 4th, at 10 am, with an interment to follow at Grove Cemetery. Following the interment, friends and family are invited for refreshments at Copetown Community Center. In memory of Glennys’ love of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Rockton Fair Horticultural Department, the RBG, or a charity of your choice.

Carson, Rev. William McMillin (Mac) – On Saturday September 27, Mac died at Hamilton General Hospital after a lengthy illness. He will be missed terribly by his wife, Barbara, and by his children, Neill, Craig and Fiona, their partners, Elizabeth, Nina and Russ and by his grandchildren, Eileen, Michael, Liam, Rachel, Colin and Clare. Mac was a United Church Minister who believed deeply that his ministry and calling were expressed in his service to his church and community and to the many individuals he touched through his work. Ordained to the Methodist Church in Ireland in 1959 he started his Canadian ministry at Londesboro United Church. In Hamilton, Mac started as a street Padre and as chaplain at Barton Street Jail. He founded Hamilton Wesley House in 1969 and eventually became Commissioner of Social Services in Hamilton Wentworth Region. He ended his career as Chief Administrative Office of the Region. Mac served as president of OMSA, as Chair of the Ontario Housing Corporation and was founding director of Public Private Partnerships. Mac was an active volunteer throughout his life. He was a proud Rotarian, a member of the “Routes” Youth Board, a CUSO volunteer and supported a variety of not for profit organizations in their work. Visitation will be at Cattel, Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home in Dundas on Thursday, October 2 from 7-9 pm. The funeral will be at St. Paul’s United Church in Dundas on Friday, October 3 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully directed to the Christian Children’s Fund of Canada.

Rowbotham, Georgie Emma (née Stone). Passed away peacefully in her sleep, at the age of 96, on September 29, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Villa, Dundas. Beloved wife of Bill Rowbotham (d. 1983) and mother of Willie (b. 1947) and Deborah (b. 1950). Georgie was born in 1918, on a farm near Strongfield Saskatchewan to Theresa and Peter Stone. The second of ten children, she was predeceased by sisters Verna and Edna and brothers Gordon, Gerald and Lloyd. She is survived by sisters Ruth, Marjorie and Maureen and by her brother Jim (and Nora) along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. As a young girl she played baseball and curled. Georgie, along with her sister Verna, avidly listened to the radio to get the lyrics of the latest songs so that she could play them on the piano at the next dance. She left school at sixteen and, having played a major role in the upbringing of her younger siblings, began working as mother’s help for a number of different families. While she was with one of these she met her future husband Bill. The war intervened, however, and Bill went away to serve in the navy while Georgie and her cousin Marion came to Hamilton to work in war-related industry at Westinghouse. She and Bill were married in 1946 in Hamilton where Bill had just begun to work at International Harvester. Her many interests included crocheting, crossword puzzles, bowling and curling but golf was number one. She was a long time member of Dundas Valley Golf and Curling Club and an active player until her eighty-sixth year. Our thanks go to the staff at Caroline Place, The Georgian and St. Josephs Villa for their kind attention and care over the past two years. Cremation has taken place and, in accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral ceremony. In lieu of flowers donations should be sent to the McMaster Children’s Hospital.

Bottrill, Catherine (nee Tekatch) “Kenny” – Peacefully, passed away at St. Joseph’s Villa on Thursday, September 25, 2014, in her 88th year. Cherished and much loved wife of the late Gordon (2013). Loving mother of Cameron Bottrill and Lynn Vogan (nee Bottrill) and her husband Kerry Kloepfer. Catherine will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Amanda and Aaron Vogan. A Celebration of Catherine’s Life will take place on Saturday, October 4th at 12:30 p.m. at ST. JOSEPH’S VILLA CHAPEL, 56 Governor’s Rd Dundas. Cremation has taken place. Peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Hamilton General Hospital on Thursday, September 25, 2014 in her 87th year. Predeceased by her husband and best friend for 61 years, Frank. Much loved mother of Frank (Lois), Marilyn (Brian), and Nancy (Carey). Loving Gramma to Kristen (Martin), Denis (Katalin), Karl (Holly), Amanda (Glen), Kyle (Christy), Joshua, Zachary, Ryan, Katie, and Meaghan. Great-Gramma to Taylor, Aiden, Madeline, Violet, Kaylee, Ben, Fiona, and Owen. June will be sadly missed by her twin sister May and brother-in-law Trevor as well as many nieces and nephews, and fondly remembered by many friends. June enjoyed many hours at her condominium with her fellow “Puzzlers”. The family would like to thank June’s grandchildren for their care and support for June immediately following her hospitalization. Cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will be held at Grove Cemetery, Dundas, on Saturday October 11th at 11:00 am. At June’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

RCAF WWII Veteran – Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on Thursday, September 18, 2014, at the age of 89, with his family by his side. Predeceased by his wife Shirley. Dearly loved and missed by his sons Terry (Darci) and Brian (Donna) and his daughter Sharon (Joe Houston); grandchildren Karri (Jamie), Lori (Oliver), Evan and Olivia; great-grandchild Jacob and lifelong friends Stan and Grace Bojeski, Laura and Fred (Bing) Bringleson and his very good friend Ron (The Swede) Burak, along with many more friends and family members. A special thank you to the staff at St. Joseph’s Villa, Cedar Grove South Wing for all their care and kindness given to Larry.
