Died at St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas, Ontario on Saturday, September 17, 2022 in her 96th year. Daughter of the late Dr. Daniel and Reba (nee Campbell) Kappele. Sister of the late Peter Kappele and his late wife Wendy of Pender Island, BC; Aunt of Danielle of Toronto and predeceased by nephew David in 2005; survived by many cousins. Many thanks to the medical professionals for keeping her afloat; to the staff and friends at Bertram Place, to the nurses and PSWs at St. Joseph’s Villa, and to Susan Bowman and Aileen Csermak for their tremendous support. Jane enjoyed travelling after retiring as a school Principal. Cremation has taken place. There will be an outdoor Memorial Service/Celebration of Life at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27th at the Dundas Museum. And a private interment at Grove Cemetery. If wished, remembrances to Doctors Without Borders,Sleeping Children Around the World or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving and devoted husband, father and nonno on Friday, September 16, 2022. Ivan passed away peacefully, with his wife and daughters at his side, at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Lydia (nee Infanti) for 62 years. Loving father to Sandy (Mike) Powell, Lisa Zecchini and Paula (James) Mitton. Son of the late Olinto and Gemma (Lenarduzzi). Brother to Derino (predeceased) (Adelina), Sergio (predeceased) (Louise), Mario (Maxine) and Elio (Mirella). Brother-in-law to Pia (Spero-predeceased) Tisiot, Josephine (Jim) Kielty and Renato (Nancy) Infanti. Missed by many relatives here, in Italy and in Argentina. The family would like to thank Dr. LeeAnn Coren for her excellent care and compassion. Ivan was a well-respected custom home builder for many years in the Ancaster and Dundas area. His great joys included spending time with family and friends, watching Udinese soccer games and the Hamilton Tiger Cats, travelling, swimming and going for hikes and bike rides at the Dundas Conservation Area. He was a lifelong member of the Venetian Club and the Famee Furlane Club where he enjoyed playing cards and bocce and attending dinner dances. Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Dundas, on Wednesday, September 21 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, September 22 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church in Dundas. Cremation to follow. Donations can be made in memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Hamilton Conservation Authority.
Surrounded by her family, Mary E. Charlong passed peacefully on September 16, 2022, age, 92, at Wentworth Heights Retirement Home, Hamilton, Ontario.
Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, she was raised in Port Daniel, Quebec on the Gaspe Peninsula. She was happiest when “on the coast” and spending time at their summer home with Nigel and as many family and friends as possible.
She was a graduate of Montreal General School of Nursing, and dedicated her life in the service of others. Her career in nursing led her to Hamilton General Hospital and later the Hamilton Health Sciences where she was the first Infection Control Officer.
She was devout in her faith and a long serving member of St. James Anglican Church in Dundas. Active in her community she advocated for improved education, safe drinking water and preserving the Niagara Escarpment green spaces in the Valley community.
Mary was pre-deceased by her husband, Nigel of 54 years, and daughter, Debborrah and was the last surviving member of her Ramier family. Surviving her are her children, Donald (Karen) of Dundas, Ontario, Daniel (June) of Hampton, NB and Debborrah Porter (James) of Hudson, PQ. As well as 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Monday, September 12, 2022. Loved husband of Patricia (nee Hunter) and father of Beth (Mark). Predeceased by his infant son, Daniel. Survived by siblings Graham, Jenny and Carmel and their families. He will be missed by the Hunter family. Flowers will be gratefully declined. “The Legend of Copetown” Charlie Binkley, wise and loving father, fiercely loyal friend, joyful and prank-loving brother, hard-working community member and neighbour, died peacefully on Friday, September 9, 2022. He embraced life and valued passion, curiosity, and hard work. He welcomed everyone and would help anyone. His impact on the “Hub of the Universe” (a.k.a. Copetown) will live on forever. He was a salesman by profession, but his heart was in his hobby farm; many’s the day you could find Charlie dutifully tending to his pick-your-own blueberry patch, delivering wood to the community, and butchering deer and moose for the local hunters each year. Charlie was the beloved partner of the late Barb Bishop and previously married to the late, great Georgina Binkley. Together, they raised their only daughter, Colleen Martin (Garrett). He will be sadly missed by his nephew Greg Binkley, who was like a son to him; his brother and sisters Mike, Susan and Teresa; and many nieces and nephews, who he was very fond and proud of. Predeceased by brothers Tom and Pat. Charlie has been cremated and a private family service and interment of ashes will take place. We welcome friends, family, and the community to celebrate Charlie on November 5th, 2022, 4 p.m. and onward (Copetown Community Centre, 1950 Governors Road, Dundas, ON L9H 5E3). It will be an informal celebration with his friends and family sharing stories and memories of Charlie, while raising a glass. Our beloved mother and best friend Anne Lelievre (Novosel) passed away at Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home in her 96th year on Sept. 13, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Gerard (Gerry) Lelievre (2012). Predeceased by parents George (1992) and Barbara (1997) Novosel, and sister Mary Narbonne (2019). Loving Mother to Gerry (Bonny 1999) and friend Colleen, Ron, and Rob ( Gayle, her adopted daughter). She will be dearly missed by grandchildren Samantha, Lyn-Anne, Keith (Sarah) and great-grandson Callum, John-Michael (Valerie), Melanie (Scott) and Nathan. Lovingly remembered by nieces, Barbara Dwyer, Kathy Stradwick and Patricia King, and nephew Jim Narbonne. Special friend of Jacqueline Huget. Cremation has taken place. Interment at a later date.
