June 22, 1922 – March 29, 2017
Brown, Arthur – A long-time Dundas resident, passed away March 29, 2017 in his 95th year with his family by his side. He is survived by sons Timothy (Karen) and Philip, younger brother Garnet and many nephews and nieces. Arthur was predeceased by his wife Helen, parents George and Anna, and nephews Peter and Mike. Born in Haileybury Ontario, Arthur was a survivor of the Great Fire of 1922. His mother stood in the cold waters of Lake Timiskaming holding baby Arthur as the town burned down. As a boy, his family moved to Kirkland Lake during the 1930’s gold boom, and in his later years he would share stories of the town’s gold mines and the colourful gold rush characters. In the 1940’s he enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force and proudly served during WWII. Following demobilization, he joined Ontario Hydro and during his lengthy service worked at many of the company’s sites across northern and southern Ontario. Upon retirement he was active for many years with the local chapter of the Hydro Pensioners Club. He served his community through the Dundas Baptist Church, Little League, and Valley Lodge. Arthur was a wonderful, sweet man; kind and humorous. A beloved father, his gentle guidance will be deeply missed by his sons. Visitation at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00pm with a service following at 3:00pm. Cremation has taken place. Interment in Grove Cemetery next to his wife at a later date.

ROBLIN, Jean Evelyn (Morrison): in her 92nd year at St Joseph’s Villa, our Mom and Grandma has taken her leave to enter into her rest. Beloved wife of Douglas who entered his rest in 1996; mother of Cheryl Tigchelaar and son-in-law Peter, grandmother of Magda and husband Joel, Andrew and fiancée Teresa and Evan; sister of Helen Rudd and aunt of Bob and Carol Sheppard. Jean’s gentle, giving spirit will be missed by many friends in Toronto, Hamilton, Midland and beyond. Memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s United Church, Dundas on Monday, April 3rd at 11:30 am, with a visitation reception to follow.

BARNARD, Sarah Donelda “Donna” (nee Hudie) – December 7, 1924 – March 30, 2017
After a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease, Donna peacefully passed away at Regina Gardens at the age of 92. Predeceased by loving husband Frank (2015), she is survived by son, Ian (Shana) and daughter, Peggy (Michael). Grandmother to Robert (Kristin) and Christopher (Shawna). Also survived by her sister Mary Cameron of London, Ont, nephew Dr. David Cameron (Jill) and niece Brenda Cameron-Locke (Tim). Donna was a strong, independent woman as well as a wonderful homemaker. Married to Frank for more than 62 years, she was an avid curler and enjoyed an active social life that included sailing, volunteer work and a love of the theatre and the Hamilton Philharmonic. She was also a long time member of the I.O.D.E. – Stanley Baldwin Chapter. Visitation at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Dundas, Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 2-4pm. Service at the Funeral Home , Monday, April 3 at 11:00am with reception to follow. Cremation has taken place. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Regina Gardens. Johnston, William “Bill” – Passed away at home on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. Born in Scotland on May 23, 1940, he traveled the world and made friends throughout the continents. His heart is now in the highlands. Loved son of Bernice and James Johnston (predeceased) and loved brother to kind and caring sister, Bernice (predeceased). Loved Uncle of Jason and Tawnya Johnston, Great-Uncle of Skylar, Rylee and Morgan Johnston and long-time friend of Allen and Lucie Pearce. Friends will be received by the family on Friday morning from 10:00 until the time of Bill’s Service at 11:00 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. If desired, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

Procee, Peter – On March 24, 2017, it pleased the LORD to take out of this life our dear husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Peter Procee. Born June 24, 1935, in Zwaagwesteinde, Netherlands. Beloved husband of Clara (nee Van Grootheest). Loving father to Lysbeth (Jim) Schuit, BC, Teresa (Conrad) Vlietstra, ON, Richard (Tera) Procee, BC, David (Selina) Procee, YK, Bonita Procee, ON, Jennifer (Neil) Fraser, ON, and Peter (Cindy) Procee, ON. Dearly loved by 34 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Survived by nine siblings (Rinze, Sjouke, Afke, Lysbeth, Annie, Kenou, Rennie, Henk and Andre). Predeceased by three siblings (Jeannette, Jappie, Minke).
Family and friends will be received at the Ebenezer Free Reformed Church, 253 Weirs Lane, Dundas, Ontario, on Tuesday, March 28 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service at Ebenezer Free Reformed Church on Wednesday, March 29 at 11am. Interment to follow at Mount Zion Cemetery, 1324 Concession 2 Road W, Copetown.
