Dear Alan
I will miss your quiet ways and your smile. The gardens will miss you. You helped brighten up our homes with your landscaping knowledge. I’m sure your little group at dialysis will miss you in solving the wold’s crisis and your sense of humour. I know I will. Every time I wear your mother’s Joan River’s lounge robe, I’ll think of you. I’ll pray for your loved ones and family that they may be comforted in this their time of sorrow. I’m grateful for being able to visit you at Emmanuel House and see that you were content and that I go to meet Jordon and Diana, and to say good-bye.
May God Bless you and welcome you into is flower garden

Dear Alan,
Although I only knew you for short six months, you have left a lasting impression.Your talent and love of flowers, your kindness, big heart and smile even though your days were painful made my problems seem so small.
Taking you to pick up flowers for your garden was so much fun..helping you plant them tired me out before you lol.Sharing my homemade soup with you was my pleasure. You were so grateful…such a gentleman. There is a sadness here today from your friends here at Green Acres…I know you are in Green Acres in the sky, enjoying and helping out in God’s garden.
To Allans son Jordon(who I had the pleasure to meet ) and family and friends….please except my heartfelt condolences…your neighbour Dee♥️
My deepest condolences to Allans family; Jordon;, Marlane & kids; Joe & kids. I have nothing but fond memories of Allan from years ago. Allan had a wonderful personality, to say the least. His irreverent sense of humour and his ” take” on things were always light-hearted, yet poignant. May he rest in peace.
Thank you all for the wonderful well wishes and comments about my father. He was a loving and kind person and everyone who knew him enjoyed his company.
If anyone would like to attend a small gathering at Garner Cemetery on November 3rd please feel free to contact me at jhodkin1@cogeco.ca for details.
to the Hodkin family our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Our deepest sympathy on Allan’s passing. Edith and Bill Dalton
Allan was the kind of person whom everyone loved. He was kind and caring, my pup Kiki especially adored him. I told him one day that I enjoyed seeing him because he had the face and smile of an angel…you just had to smile back. He will truly be dearly missed by all of us. I am so sorry his family had to lose such a sweet spirit. I know he will be irreplaceable here at Green Acres. Angels are very hard to come by.

To the family and friends of Allan, my across the hall neighbour, my condolences.
We were truly blessed to have Allan in our lives, I recall him telling me he preferred to have plants more than food. He was an artist with living plants.
As a frequent user of DARTS, several of the drivers had asked about Allan, they remember him fondly. He brought a smile into the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
Allan will live on in the plants he nurtured.

Old friends and newer friends who were blessed with Allan’ company all agree that he was a man who made the best of what life gave him. He loved his son Jordon and was the centre of his mother’s adoration. As his sister, I was able to share so many moments. We danced when we were young (he did love to dance), laughed about silly things, enjoyed our pets, went on little shopping sprees and loved the little things in everyday life. I was fortunate that he was my brother and recall all the good times. I know that he is finally without pain but will always miss him.
To the Hodkin family:
So sorry to hear of Al’s passing, he always stopped to talked to me in the grocery store, always asking how the family was doing.
