Garry “Wilf” Wilfred KELLY. A beacon of strength, faith, and boundless love departed us at Juravinski Hospital on October 6, 2023. With a union spanning 54 beautiful years, Wilf and his treasured wife, Linda, built a tapestry of love and commitment that served as an inspiring testament to all. A devoted father to Matthew and David (Melissa), and a doting grandfather, or “Papa”, to Erin and Griffin.
Born on September 22, 1946, in Brockville, Ontario, Wilf was the cherished son of Wilfred and Aileen Kelly, and a dear brother to Shirley (George), Wayne (Linda), and Tom (Joan). Wilf filled the lives of his family and friends with wisdom, stories, and laughter, always ready to share anecdotes and moments of joy.
Wilf was a resident of Dundas where he led Curry, Elkin & Kelly Insurance Brokers with dedication and integrity until his retirement in 2007. He served his community as a trusted advisor and font of knowledge to many, always with a smile and open heart.
A sports enthusiast, Wilf found joy in golf, basketball, and football, and held membership at the Dundas Golf & Country Club and Royal Wood in Naples, Florida. He was a devoted Catholic, living his life in faithful service to others and embodying the principle of treating others with kindness and respect. After courageously battling cancer, with Linda unwaveringly by his side, Wilf leaves behind a legacy that will continue to light the way for his loved ones.
Family and friends are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home for visitation at 53 Main St, Dundas, on Thursday, October 12th from 6-8 pm. A Mass celebrating Wilf’s life is scheduled at St. Augustine’s Parish, 58 Sydenham Rd, Dundas, on Friday, October 13th at 1:00 pm, with a private family interment at St. Augustine’s Cemetery to follow. There are too many people to name who were special to Wilf but thank you for your love and support. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in honour of Wilf’s memory.
May Garry rest in peace, I will always remember Garry as gentle soft speaking soul with a great smile
No one can ever prepare us for the loss of a loved one but I know that Wilf forged an incredible family. Sending love and condolences to all the family in this difficult time.
Gary, I so enjoyed the times we were together in our special occasion gatherings . You always made the room full of fond memories in the Kelly tradition. Thank you for such comforting thoughts.
May you rest in peace.
Even with Garry/Wilf’s passing our relationship has not ended; he was such a caring person. I was fortunate to know him and enjoy him.
Garry (“Wilf”) was a wonderful friend and a big presence in the lives of the Seaton Street gang. Funny, thoughtful and kind, he has given us so many good memories. My deepest sympathy.
So sorry for your loss Linda and family.
I am truly sorry to hear about the passing of your father and my deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family at this difficult time.
We are so honoured to have spent so many holidays, family birthdays and special events with Mr.Kelly and family. His presence will be missed by the “Dundas Kelly’s”. He exuded a gentle kindness that he has passed down onto his amazing family. Much love to the family through this difficult time.
I am sorry to hear about Garry’s recent passing. I worked for him many years ago and he was a wonderful man and an amazing boss.
My deepest sympathy to Linda and the boys.
Veronica Mitchell (Vickers)
I am so sorry to hear of Garry (Wilf’s) passing. My condolences to Linda and the family. I had the privilege of becoming a member of Ryerson’s first Co-op house which Garry was setting up in 1968. A year later a small group of its residents set out to find a new house (325 Church was to be torn down). Gary and I bought Seaton street (33k) and Seaton co-op was born. Gary and Linda were the calming rock that all 15 of us looked to to solve the challenges of living together and in that neighborhood. Upon his graduation Linda and Gary moved west to Dundas where they opened ZOO’s restaurant and bought into an insurance agency. Cheryl and I have considered Garry and Linda have remained life long friends. I am so thankful for Wilfred and Linda were able to make it my birthday party in August.
Garry I will miss you, your friendship and your wisdom. The angles had gained a guiding light.

Betty, Allan, and Liam McCulley
I am a long retired golf pro who remembers Garry well from his love of golf and we shared a little time on the lesson tee where his humour was well founded from the results of some of his golf swings. I have great memories of Garry as my insurance broker, friend, and happy enthusiast of things like sailing, if I remember correctly. I am glad that life gave us the opportunity to share some things together, and I am sorry of his passing, but he left this life with great memories for a lot of people. Thankyou Garry!
