It is with great sadness that the family of Thelma Josephine Hesselink , (nee Burnstien) announce her passing on Saturday July 22, 2023 at the age of 95.
Beloved wife of the late Gerrard Hesselink, mother to John (Karen) and Marie (Jeff). Grandmother to Daniel (Lisa), Christopher (Spencer) and Alex (Janine). Great grandmother of Ashton, Violet, Grayson and Carter. She is also remembered by many nieces and nephews here in Canada, United States and The Netherlands. She will also be missed by her dear friend Linda Gratzfeld.
We would like to thank the many nurses and PSW’s at Margaret’s Place in Dundas, Ontario, who provided great care and attention in a dignified manner.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Turner Family Funeral Home at 53 Main Street in Dundas, Ontario. Please join the family on Thursday July 27th at 1PM for the visitation period and a memorial service to begin at 2PM. This will be followed by a reception at 2:30PM.
Rest in peace Thelma! You lived a long life and you looked after your family. You will be missed by your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. You looked after Gerrard for more than 20 years and for that your children are grateful!!
Sorry to hear about aunt Thelma passing. I have some fond memories of her and uncle Gerard. When my mother and her were together, it was great TV.
We are so sorry to hear of Thelma’s passing. We are related to her late sister Aileen in Newfoundland and remember the many family stories of their lives and friendship.
They were the last remaining sisters and were very close. May she rest in peace.
Our thoughts are with you and the memories too of a very remarkable woman. Isabella and Thelma were two peas in pod and gave us so much joy and laughter when they got together. They are both missed dearly. R.I.P Thelma and please say hello to our dear mom – Isabella .
