With heavy hearts the Sanche family announces the passing of our beloved mother Dorothy (Popovich) Sanche at the age of 89. Mom is at peace now. Our Sunshine has passed away in body, but her loving shining spirit will live forever in our memories. Loving mother of 5 children; Debbie, Darlene, Donna (Paul), Mark and Darryl. Daughter to Milan and Tereza Popovich. Sister to 6 siblings. Grandmother to Jason, Tyler, Rene and Josh. Aunt to so many. Loved all, was loved by all. Mom loved her family but was especially close to her mother Tereza (Baba) whom she cared for unselfishly with love, courage and passion for 5 years until her mother passed. Dorothy was caring, a fun-loving spirit with a great sense of humour. Someone her children could talk to with ease and loved each equally. Mom loved animals, the outdoors and travel. Discovered her artistic side later in life. Her gardening and cooking skills were outstanding. Grew up on a farm in Welland and starting work at a very young age throughout the Niagara Region up to age of 49. Her biggest achievement was returning to school at age 50 to become an RNA, then working at Doctors Hospital in Toronto until her retirement. A proud moment for all. Her resilience, strength of character and positive outlook got her through some tough times where she adapted to whatever came her way without complaint. Mom, for everything we shared, the dreams, the laughter and the tears, we love you with a special love that deepened throughout the years. ”You will always be our Sunshine.” The family would like to thank the staff at Shalom Village in Hamilton who cared for mom for the past 7 years. A private visitation will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Turner Funeral Home, Dundas. Burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, 10672 Lakeshore Rd, Wainfleet, ON for those who would like to attend at approximately 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Dorothy’s name can be made to the Alzheimer Society.
Mom, You Will Always Be Our Sunshine…. Miss You. Love You Always, Darryl xoxo
Dorothy and her late Mother Tereza’s (Our Dear Baba) Favourite Song… “You Are My Sunshine” Remembering them whenever the song is played. Thank you Mom for so courageously caring for Baba for all those years. Your wings are waiting for you in heaven. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHEaRFNx7tw

Such a beautiful picture and heartfelt sentiments – a loving tribute to a cherished lady. Along with skills listed, you forgot to mention she was a pro at Facebook posts! I used to look forward to those insights! You are greatly missed, sweet Auntie.
Dear Debbie, Darlene, Donna, Paul, Mark and Darryl
You have my sincere condolences, in the loss of your Mom. My prayers are for God to comfort you in your loss. I know you will always remember the laughter and the love you shared with your dear mom. Sincerely, Geraldine
Free Me, Let Me Go
Free Me, Let Me Go
A little bird, for all to know
Wings spread wide, at last I am free
Quietly sailing the world to see
And colourful I will be
I am not lonely, so do not fret
I am at peace for all to see
A nest bound by me that many do not know
For I was blessed truly, so no tear do you see
I will carry you with me, my soul will fly free
The air is fresh, but I do not breath
Sun shining on me, wind behind me
Gentle silence I do now travel
Silence is beauty, that soothes me now
I am in a place filled with love
To you too know “Up Above”
Darkness comes within the eve
But do not worry, it is time to rest
Mist in the morning, again we will see
My new life will take me, forever I will sing
When you look up to find me, I will be with thee
Do not grieve for me as I am free
Will always be missed….??
