We will miss this very dear woman “Aunt Vera” who touched my soul whenever I was in her company. Vera you will be sorrily missed by all who loved you. My sincere and deepest wishes are with the Walker family at this very difficult time. Love to you all.
Vera Walker was a cherished name in our household. Vicky saw Vera as the template for being a loving, empathetic mother and wife. Our children had many good times with Vera and John’s ‘energetic’ children. I admired Vera’s tenacity and compassion, never having heard her say a bad word about anyone. Truly a remarkable human being.
I am honoured and blessed to have known Vera. She was a link to my past and often shared stories of my mom who I lost over 50 years ago. Remembering her wonderful and gentle soul will forever remain in my heart. My most heartfelt condolences
A wonderful woman and life well lived. Much love to the family as you adapt to the loss of your mother, grandmother, guiding light and love. Thoughts and prayers for you all.
Sending our condolences. She was such a wonderful lady with a sweet nature. Passed down so many wonderful qualities to all her children who are just as amazing!!

Mrs. Walker was, truly, one of the nicest people that I have ever known. Her smile was infectious, her words were always kind, and her zest for life was evident. Not only will your whole family miss her, the neighbourhood that she was such a big part of, for years, will mourn her loss greatly also.
Our condolences on the passing of your Mom, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She had a very kind heart.
I remember she was always interested in everything that was going on around her, asking questions, curious about what you’ve been up to.
Vera Ann, Cathy, Janice, Marj and Bob, your mom was such a huge part of my life growing up in Dundas (I’m Karen Woods). I loved when we visited your house it was always fun with much laughter. I am sorry your mom has passed, but the gang will all be together again in the heavens. Dancing, card games, laughter and maybe even a few “pops”, lol. Sending all of you love, light, hugs and peace. The world is a little dimmer now without your mom’s shining smile.
When we moved from Montreal to Melville Street in ’96 Vera made us feel so welcome! Shane and Stéphane, who were 4 & 6 at the time, loved Vera from the get go… Who wouldn’t?! Vera was particularly loved by our dearly departed dog, Bear, who would greet Vera as if Vera were her mom… Bear was entranced by the aura of love that was with Vera all the time! Vera was so kind to me… and always so encouraging of my efforts in the front garden. We no longer live in Dundas, but without a doubt, when I think of Dundas and the happy times there, Vera Walker is the first person that comes to mind. She will be missed… But her love will have a lasting impact for all of us and she lives on in us. As sad as it is for us, I’m sure John is pleased to be with Vera again and Bear is surely shaking that backside at seeing her beloved Vera! Happy memories live on…
So very sad to hear of Vera’s passing . Sending condolences and hugs to Murph, Cathy/Cate, Marj, Jannie and Bob and their familes….we have a life time of memories but Vera is the last of our parents to leave us. She has left a beautiful legacy with your families and all the friends she had for 92 years. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

We were so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was an amazing woman who lived a full , gracious and generous life with everyone in her orbit. Vera never failed to have that wonderful, sincere smile of happiness on her face when she saw you. She was not only the kind of woman people wanted to be, she was the kind of woman people would /should proud to be. She always asked about our family, without fail, especially Jeanne Nolan, my Mom. They were much alike. The memories of Vera will never fade. xoxo
I was very sad to hear of Vera’s passing. She was a lovely soul – so kind and gracious. Whenever I would see her at the many family occasions over the years she would always come up to me with a welcoming smile asking in her own quiet way how I was doing. She was a thoughtful listener and always cared about others. I have many wonderful memories of Vera and Johnny.
To Vera, Bob, Cathy, Jannie and Margie – you had a wonderful mom- her spirit will always be here
Dear Vera, Cathy, Janice, Marj and Bob,
I was sorry to hear about your mom passing away. I have many wonderful memories of growing up in Dundas on Melville Street and playing with Cathy and Janice especially when we were small children – hopscotch, skipping and dolls. You mom was always kind and welcoming. As I grew up, we often crossed paths on the street – always a hello, a wave, a smile or stopping for a short chat – she always wanted to know how things were going. When Fred and I got married and we moved to Alberta, on my visits to Dundas, I would be sure to drop by for a visit with Vera and John and Margie and Mel – such fun times! And looked forward to the newsy Walker family letters at Christmas. This year Vera expressed her happy memories of Melville St. in her card. It has been very special to keep in touch through all these years. What a wonderful neighbourhood to grow up in. I’ll always cherish our friendship and Vera’s kind heart.
Thinking of you all – with love, Janet
