Passed away peacefully on June 15, 2020 at St Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton in his 41st year. Beloved husband of Laura Morfaw. Loving father of Vanessa Morfaw, Prince Henry Morfaw, and Ricka Morfaw. Frederick is predeceased by his father Henry Morfaw, and is survived by his mother Stella Morfaw, his wife Laura, their three children (Vanessa, Prince, Ricka) and siblings Joseph, Arabella and Fanny. Born in Cameroon, Frederick trained as a Medical Doctor in the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University of Yaoundé 1 from 1998 to 2005, where he later on did a specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2013. Prior to this he completed a Master of Science in Public Health Research at the University of Edinburgh in 2008, and a PhD in Health Research Methodology at McMaster University in 2019. Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St. Dundas, on Tuesday, June 23, 2:00-2:50, 3:10-4:00, 7:00-7:50, and 8:10-9:00. A funeral mass will take place at Canadian Martyrs Church, 1349 Main St. W., Hamilton, on Thursday, June 25, at 10:00am. Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital in his 92nd year. Beloved by his wife of 69 years, Betty, daughter Irene (Ray), grandsons David (Lori) and Matthew (Orsha) and great grandchildren, Brooke, Kade, Shae, Seth, Vaughn and Tage. He will be missed by all who knew him – to know him was to love him.
Jim retired from McMaster University in 1989, where he was associate registrar for over 20 years. In retirement he volunteered with the Huntington Society of Canada, and with MURA (including as president). He also greatly enjoyed stamp collecting and his stamp collecting friends, and discovered his inner artist. But family always came first. He was a good, loving man, always with a smile on his face.
Special thanks to all the staff at Aberdeen Gardens, who enriched his last years. Particular thanks to all the staff on the surgical six ward at St. Joseph’s – they provided such loving care in his final days.

Sadly, on Saturday, June, 13th 2020, Patricia Mary Macdonald passed away of natural causes at the age of 94. She is survived by her husband, Alan Lawrence Macdonald. Patricia is survived by sons, Doug (Ava), Glenn (Donna) and Scott (Marianne), and predeceased by her son, Colin. Born June 10, 1926, Patricia was a wonderfully loving and gentle mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She married Alan Macdonald June 12, 1954. They recently had their 66th anniversary. Patricia spent her teenage years on Toronto Island, skating across in winter to go to school. As a young adult she worked at Clarkson-Gordon where she met Alan. Later on, she volunteered for the Red Cross and Cancer Society. She was a thoughtful and caring listener, a fabulous cook, an avid reader, and a kind spirit. She is already dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, cards for Alan would be appreciated. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the Red Cross. On Monday June 8, 2020, Terry Norman Moore passed away at age of 59 years.
Leaving behind his Mother Shirley Lee (the late Emerson Moore), sister and brothers Virginia Haggith (Ron), Bonny Roarke (Rick), Tim Moore, Michelle Hammouti (Larry), Sean Moore (Brenda) his extended family Michael Lee, Stanley Lee (Cindy), Lynn Lambertus (Jeff) and several nieces and nephews. A private family service was held June 12, 2020 at New Hope Christian centre with Karl Devries who officiated the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lung Association and the New Hope Christian Centre would be appreciated.

With great sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing on June 10, 2020 of John, following a courageous battle with cancer at age 71. John’s gentle, kind and loving nature will be greatly missed by his wife of 42 years, Sandy (MacCharles); daughter Jennifer and Tim Gunby; son Michael and Christine (Tavares); grandchildren (his greatest joys) Emma, James, Nora, and Mila; brother Greg and Jane of Winnipeg; sister Carol Anne and Don Halstead of Calgary; sister Lourdes and Larry Kelly of Ottawa; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. John is predeceased by his parents Jack and Doreen and his brother Jim. The latter part of his civil engineering career was spent as a Director of Works in Dundas, Fleet Management for the City of Hamilton, and lastly Norfolk County Engineer until retirement in 2012. John loved baking cookies with his grandchildren, travelling, cycling the rail trail, pencil drawing, and skating with his buddies followed by coffee meetings to solve world problems. The family wishes to thank Doctors: Han, Juergens, Finley, the Palliative team at Juravinski Hospital and Dr. McMillan in Dundas for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place according to John’s wishes. A private family mass will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. January 2, 1938 – June 6, 2020 in his 83rd year. It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his children Kim (Mike), Shawn (Barb) and Robyn (Oliver) and his grandchildren Dustin, Austin, Jessie, Oliver, Ashley, Arden, Emerald and Felicia as well as his great grandson Weston. Dad was predeceased by the love of his life and constant companion, Marlene (Koo Koo) in 2016. He missed her deeply and their many countryside drives with the Christmas music blaring in the truck in the middle of July. He cherished our yearly family vacations to his brother Chub’s camp in Shining Tree on Deschenes Lake. There were many nights sitting by the campfire listening to old family stories and the strumming of a guitar that we wished would never end. We will retell these stories for generations to come. Dad’s wishes were to have his ashes spread over his beloved moose camp on Deschenes Lake where he also went moose hunting every fall for many, many years. We will be honoured to fulfill that wish. Dad was an avid hunter and trap and skeet shooter. He was a member of the Hamilton Angling and Hunting Association (HAHA) for over 50 years and sat on the executive for many years. He took great pride when all of his children and grandchildren learned to shoot and hunt alongside him. Dad was the most amazing patient teacher. He taught us everything from math, computer programming and fixing anything with a motor to changing a tire and the oil. Most of all, he taught us to be big, strong, kind, humble and to always stand up for what is right. Dad was the youngest of 11 children, all of whom have predeceased him. They are all together once again. So papa, grab your beautiful Koo Koo and join the rest of your family and have the greatest hoedown heaven has ever seen! You were the greatest man on earth and your departure has left a massive hole in our hearts and in our lives. Loving and missing you forever. Stay big and strong xoxo. Kearon, Clive – Born in Dublin, Ireland on May 2, 1957, died at his home, surrounded by his family, in Dundas, Ontario on June 3, 2020.
Beloved by his wife, Gill, children, Ben (Kristen), Chloe (David) and Rebecca, granddaughter Sidney, brothers, Anthony (Mary), Christopher (Nuala), Graham (Geraldine), sisters Wendy and Nicola (Mark), and many nieces and nephews. Also loved by his in-laws, many friends and colleagues.
Clive studied medicine at Trinity College Dublin, graduating in 1980. He came to McMaster in 1985 to further his training and never left. He was a Professor of Medicine at McMaster where he had a successful research career and clinical practice. He was also deeply involved in mentorship and was Director of the Clinical Investigator Program for many years. He loved his work which he pursued with dedication and great attention to detail.
But for Clive, family came first. He was a loving and supportive husband and a warm and comforting father and grand-father. He was always avaialble to help sort out a problem or provide words of wisdom and support. He was a funny, optimisitic, humble, gentle man. He enjoyed a glass of wine, banter with family and friends, hiking, conceiving quirky repairs in his basement workshop, being by the water, sunsets, music and dancing.
A celebration of Clive’s life will take place when public health regulations permit.

Smith, Lyle – Peacefully at Cama Woodlands LTC on Sunday, May 31, 2020, in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Joyce (2012). Loving father of Wendy Crechiola (Mike), Julie Simpson (Dwayne) and Valerie Boom (Warren). Sadly missed by his grandchildren; Erin, Ryan, Adam, Tyler and Carli, his 5 great grandchildren; Austin, Taylor, Olivia, Sophia and Maverick, and by his sister Meryl Hamilton and predeceased by his brother Orvil. He will also be sadly missed by his extended family. Lyle was a member of the Lynden Masonic Lodge #505, and was a non-member volunteer with the Rockton Lions Club. Due to the pandemic, a private family Service and burial was held at Mt. Zion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cama Woodlands LTC or Toronto Sick Kids would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to the staff at Cama Woodlands LTC for their care and compassion for Dad, where he was considered the Life of the Party.
CALE, CAROLYN V. (nee CHISLETT) – It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Carolyn V. Cale, 83, on May 31st at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Carolyn was a loving and devoted wife to Warren (predeceased) for almost 36 years and will be greatly missed by her beloved children: son Bruce, daughter Lynda and son-in-law Hal. Her grandchildren Morgan, Jordan, Dylan and Sienna will forever have fond memories of their Nana and her adoring, supportive and nurturing personality. Sister Myrna (predeceased) and Sister-in-law Carolyn B. (predeceased) always had a special place in her heart as do their children, Karen, Jo-Anne, Jennifer and Brian. Following graduation at McGill and their wedding, Montreal native Carolyn made her way with Warren to Kingston, Sarnia and Stoney Creek before settling in the Town of Dundas in 1966. Years later she became the Welcome Wagon Hostess for Dundas, proudly welcoming newcomers to the area for 38 years before retiring at the age of 81. For the last 2 years, Carolyn was enjoying the lifestyle, amenities, the staff and making new friends while residing at Amica Dundas. At this time, we would like to thank and share our appreciation to all the compassionate medical staff at St. Joseph Hospital for making her last few days comfortable.
