Lanznaster, Irma Elisabeth – Peacefully at her home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, March 4, 2021, in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Herbert (Mausl) and beloved mother of Sylvia (Emilio), Susie (Roman) and Eveline (Julian). Loving Omi (grandmother) to 7 and great Omi to 10. Predeceased by 3 brothers and son-in-law Mike. Survived by her 3 sisters in Germany. Irma was a long standing member of the Kolping Society. A Private Family Service and burial will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
Gone, but never forgotten, forever in our hearts.
My deepest condolences on the loss of your Mom. I have so many happy memories of playing at your home, and your Mom helping me learn to speak some German. She always made me feel so welcome.
Your Mom was a fabulous baker. Every year she would send a torte to us for Christmas. She was always so thoughtful.
Hugs
Barb Buckle (Gatt)
We were very sorry to read of the loss of your mum. For many years Irma would visit our house each week and kept it ‘spic and spam’ for us. Every summer, she would bring us pots of her home made marmalade and jams as well as as much asparagus as we could eat!
She was always very thoughtful and kind. Our condolences to you and your family during what has to be a very difficult time
Sincerely,
Maureen and Chris Sorby
Our deepest condolences for the loss of your mom. We have many memories of a kind neighbour and an amazing baker. Anna remembers hitting silver when chomping down on a coin baked into her famous Black Forest cake! May your memories give you solace and peace during this difficult time.
My deepest condolences to the family. I had the pleasure to be invited to her home and have her delicious food and baked goods, also enjoy some time in her garden. Her hospitality was so lovely and banter between her and her baby daughter Eveline was priceless to be a part of. God bless to her and may she rest in peace and love.
On behalf of my mother Maria and myself, I would like to send you our deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother. We were fortunate to have known Irma through the St. Boniface German Catholic church in Hamilton. My mother always enjoyed chatting with her before and after the service. I can still picture her sitting in her usual spot, not far from our usual spot. She was a very genuine and down to earth person. So nice to talk to. A very special lady.
