Passed away peacefully on October 21, 2020 at Juravinski Hospital in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Denise for over 63 years. Loving father to Carolyn (Roger) Press and Judy (Mark) Empey. Caring grandfather to Robin, Eric, Brigitte, and Julia. Survived by his sister Thelma Miller. Rod was a creative soul. As a talented life-long artist, his work often depicted family life and nature, and his annual Christmas cards were treasured by loved ones. He was also an avid gardener, proud of the beautiful oasis he and Denise created in their own backyard. Special thanks to the oncology team at the Juravinski Hospital for their outstanding care. Brother to Elwood (Betty) of Florida, Kenneth (predeceased) of Hamilton, and Sandy (predeceased) of Michigan. He will also be sadly missed by the “Breakfast Club” and all those who knew him. Naismith , Shirley Elaine (nee Woodward) – remembered by her sons Peter and John her loving friends, predeceased by her husband Ian and her parents William and Ethel Woodward. She will be missed by all of us including her Gourmet & Coffee groups, those at St. James’ Dundas, and St. Georges Benevolent Society. Shirley passed quietly at 8 pm. 20 Oct 2020, in the presence of her boys at St. Peter’s Palliative Care. Shirley was an early career woman hired by Lady Eaton for Eaton’s, then Bell Canada and later Long Sault Woodcraft where both She & Ian held “Secret” clearance for working on the DEW line for Norad, USA. While her boys were in school she wanted to be available to them, but still wanted to contribute so she dedicated herself to volunteering: Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke, Boy Scouts, Information Dundas and Meals on Wheels . Through their dedication Ian & Shirley were awarded Dundas Citizen of the year 1991. They both received the 125th Anniversary of Confederation of Canada Commemorative Medal. The boy’s independence sent her back to work in retail, Hi Lo fashion, Just Dresses, Irene Hill and Laura’s retiring at the age of 83. Thank you to everyone who sent her their love in her final days and for the excellent care at Juravinski Cancer Center and St. Peter’s Palliative. Friends will be received by the family on Friday evening from 6-8 and Sunday afternoon from 2-4 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas . It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gertrud Donaberger on October 16, 2020 at the age of 91. She is survived by her husband Karl, son Ron (wife Anne Y.H. Gin), nephew Rainer Gerber, predeceased by brother Willi, sister Rosa, nephews Gerd, Ulrich and Gunter Gerber. She will be remembered as a kind and giving person always putting others before herself. One of many gifts was to be very patient and understanding and accepted what life brought her way without complaint. She truly was the foundation of our family and will be missed tremendously. Some will remember her from Link’s Delicatessen in Dundas, working either behind the counter or at the cash. She was a long time employee working through the 60’s to the 90’s finally retiring in 1994. A private gravesite ceremony will take place on October 26. McConachie, John Alexander – Suddenly on Saturday, October 17, 2020, in his 65th year. Dear son of Mabel and the late John and beloved husband of Debbie (nee Lowery). Loving father to Stephen Williams (Marci), Chad McConachie (Debbi), Cole Williams (Amanda) and Ashley McConachie (Andrew Bailey). Sadly missed by his 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, his brother David and sisters Anne, Liz and May. He now walks with his grandson Aiden Bailey. Predeceased by his brothers Norm and Danny. John was an avid Chicago Blackhawks Fan, and he will be missed by all who knew him. It is with profound sadness that the family of Teresa Lee announces her passing on October 10, 2020, at the age of 56, at Emmanuel House Hospice, Hamilton ON, following a brief illness. Beloved wife and best friend of Daniel Lee. Loving and devoted mother to Clare (David) Adamcik of Calgary AB. Daughter of the late Joseph and Kathleen Wasiak of Regina SK. Daughter-in-law to Ruth and the late David Lee of Dundas ON and sister-in-law to Sarah (Cameron Belsher), Stephen (Nancy Reinhart), and Deborah (Kevin Eldridge). Cherished youngest sister to Ed (Katherine) Wasiak, Christine Kessel, Colette (Wayne) Bischoff, and Marcia (Michael) Scott. Adoring aunt to many nieces and nephews, and their partners and children.
Following a successful career as a French Hornist, where Teresa performed with many diverse ensembles locally and across the globe, she expanded her artistic expression by studying interior decorating, and in 1998 opened her own decorating and design studio, Design Inspirations.
Intuitive, thoughtful and hard-working, Teresa was a lover of music, art, nature, skiing, travel, gardening, dogs, reading, and cooking, and she and Dan hosted many special times for friends and family at their homes in Calgary, Waterdown and St. Catharines. She could light up a room with her generous spirit and her radiant smile. She will be greatly missed by her design clients, musical colleagues, family and many friends.
Heartfelt thanks to the teams at Emmanuel House Hospice and Niagara General Hospital for their compassionate care of both Teresa and Dan, as well as the many outstanding home caregivers. The family is also grateful for the immense kindness and support of extended family, friends and neighbours. Cremation has taken place, with a Celebration of Life planned for a future date. Affectionately know as “Michael” by his grandson Austin, and “Pa” by his granddaughters Taylor, Olivia and Sophia. Mike is survived by his sister Frances and predeceased by his brothers Jim and Sam, and his sister Jeanette. Mike will also be sadly missed by his best friend Mike Ryckman, and many nieces and nephews. As per Mike’s request, there will be no service or visitation. Cremation has taken place. The Reverend Stephen John Hallford was born on May 17, 1954. He peacefully left his earthly existence on September 27, 2020, a beautiful, sunny Sunday morning, just as the leaves were beginning to turn.
A humble man, he preferred to simply be called Steve. He would never announce to anyone that he was a priest and he wasn’t one to preach. He lived a good, honest, thoughtful, and gentle life that was a tremendous comfort and example to many.
Steve grew up in Oakville, went to Trent University, the University of Toronto, and finally to the Vancouver School of Theology where he earned his Master’s of Divinity and was soon ordained as an Anglican priest.
His role in the Anglican church took him all over western Canada. Over the years he had parishes in B.C. in Lumby and Vernon, then in Alberta including Camrose, Calgary and Edmonton, and most recently at Christ Church in Flamborough, Ontario, behind which will be his final resting place. He chose a lovely spot in the cemetery there under a very old maple tree.
Steve was happiest in nature, whether hiking in the Rockies or paddling his canoe in Muskoka. He was a voracious reader, a good cook, and an even better listener. Children, adults, and animals alike were all drawn to his quietly gentle demeanor.
Recently predeceased by his parents Don and Marianne, they will be waiting to welcome him home by Christ’s side. He will be deeply missed by his family; wife Nancy, daughter Emily (Albert), stepson Daniel, stepdaughter Nicole, mother-in-law Estelle Becker (the late Don Becker), sisters-in-law Leslie (Mark), Amy (Fernanda), siblings Bruce (Ziggy), Ian (Irene), Pat (Scott), grandchildren Isla and Orion, many loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, numerous friends, both new and old, former colleagues and parishioners.
The family would like to thank the wonderful medical teams at the Juravinski Cancer Center, the VON nurses, and finally everyone at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice who took such good care of Steve until the very end. A special thank you to friend and retired Anglican priest, Peter Davison, who was a dear friend and spiritual mentor throughout Steve’s illness.

Walt was a step-father to Anne’s children Wendy Obbema, Paul Lain and Robin Leonard. Walt’s love was his family, hockey was his passion in all forms, from being a player, to being involved in Dundas Minor Hockey and was a longtime OHL Hockey Scout, the last one being with the Erie Otters organization. Friends will be received by the family Sunday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 6-8 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.
