EDEN, Helen Louise (née Budgen) – Helen died Monday, October 19, 2015, in her 91th year. She was the beloved wife of the late James Blay Eden (2012), and loving mother of Jim (Grace), Diane Stirton (John), Rosemary (Pierre Gosselin), and David (David Richer). She will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren Lisa Wood (Dave), Jim Stirton (YiLing Chen), Annie Thomas (Mark), and Chris (Eva); great-grandsons Ethan Thomas and Owen Chen-Stirton; great-granddaughters Lauren Thomas and Mackenzie ; nephews Bob (Shirlie) and John; and other family members and friends in Canada and England. Helen was predeceased by her beloved son Ken, parents Bessie and Jack Budgen, brothers John Budgen and Jim Budgen. She helped her husband build a successful market gardening business in Dundas and was always a truly devoted and caring mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A member of St. James Anglican Church in Dundas for over 60 years, she served on the ACW and as a member of the Parish Council. The family would like to offer sincere thanks to the staff at the Brant Centre LTC in Burlington, especially the staff of Hidden Valley. A memorial service will be held at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 1382 Ontario St., Burlington ON L7S 1G1 (entrance on Elgin St), Saturday, October 31st at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception in the parish hall. Interment at Grove Cemetery, Dundas, on Saturday, October 31st at 11a.m. If desired, memorial contributions to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

October 15, 1954 – October 17, 2015
On October 17, 2015, Ray Ofield, aged 61, peacefully passed away at Hamilton General Hospital surrounded by his family. Ray was predeceased by his parents Edward and Lila, and sister Kathy. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Denise, his sons Dave (Janeva) and Charlie, his grandson Cameron Ray and his brother Ken (Kim). Always the optimist; Ray was loved and respected by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He loved his family dearly and will always be remembered as a caring and loving father and grandfather. Ray grew up in Copetown and raised his family in Flamborough. He greatly enjoyed building the family’s cottage in Stoke’s Bay for which he personally cut and milled the wood with the help of his brother and father. He worked at Bell Canada in Hamilton for over 30 years and will also be remembered for his years of involvement with Beverly minor hockey in both the coaching and administration roles. Friends will be received by the family for a celebration of Ray’s life on Thursday October 22, 2015 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM at the Copetown Community Centre, 1950 Governors Road, Dundas. There will be an open mic and the family would welcome hearing any anecdotes about Ray during the memorial.

Peacefully at Freeport Hospice in Kitchener on Friday, October 16, 2015 in her 66th year. Joan is survived by her mother Charlotte Little, her brother Bob Little and was predeceased by her father Lyman Little. Loving mother of Angelisa, Kendra (Kyler) Pomeroy and Scott. Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday, October 20th from 10 a.m. until the Celebration of Joan’s Life at 11 a.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, followed by an interment at White Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the S.P.C.A would be appreciated by the family.

Peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, October 15, 2015 in her 59th year. Cherished and loving wife of Robert. Devoted mother to Jesse (Angela), Robin, Elizabeth (Alan). Much loved grandmother to Lucas and Mila. Fondly remembered by her sister Tina, brothers Martin (predeceased), John, Henry, Ignace and Peter as well as her sister in law Cathy and brother in law Barry. Nellie will also be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews and many friends. Special thanks to Siji, Samantha, Mike and all the Staff at CAMA Woodlands. A Funeral Mass for Nellie will be held at ST. JOSEPH’S PARISH, 260 Herkimer Street, Hamilton on Saturday, October 24th at 11 am. Cremation has taken place. An interment of ashes will take place at St. Augustine’s Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS Society would be appreciated by the family.

Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on October 14, 2015 in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Sanford Garland, dear mother of Gail Spear (Patrick Salvage), and Randall Garland. Predeceased by son-in-law Edwin Spear, dear grandmother of Paul and Craig Spear. Sister of the late Sterling Hunt and sister-in-law of Irene Hunt. Will be missed by several nieces and nephews. Marion began her career working in the secretarial pool of the Parliament Buildings in Toronto at age 17. In 1944, she left Toronto to start her married life dairy farming on the 2nd Concession of the former Beverly Township. In later years, Marion worked at the Rockton Township Office until amalgamation when she transferred to the Flambrough Township offices until her retirement in 1987. After retirement she continued to be active in the community by volunteering at Information Flamborough and Wentworth Lodge. Marion was a member of West Flamboro Presbyterian Church and Life member of Orkney Women’s Institute. The family wishes to thank the staff of Tulip Gardens for their compassion and care. Friends will be received by the family on Monday afternoon from 12:30 until the Celebration of Marion’s Life at 2 p.m. at Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Interment to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to West Flamboro Presbyterian Church, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital on Thursday, October 8, 2015 in his 54th year. Loving husband of Kimberly Krouse-Cutler, cherished father of Emily and Jordan. Rob is survived by and sadly missed by his parents Terry and Beverley as well as his brothers Rick and Randy (Margaret). Rob was a teacher for many years with the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board. Friends will be received by the family on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. A Celebration of Rob’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2015 at CHRIST CHURCH ANGLICAN, 92 Hwy #8 Dundas with visitation from 10 am until the time of Rob’s service at 11am. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Jackie. Heaven has become a brighter place because Jackie has been reunited with her loving dad, Winston Rowsell, who predeceased her on January 30, 2010. Left to mourn her passing is her mom – Jane, Stepdad David Humphreys, sister Jo-Anne and brother-in-law Mark Cafazzo, niece Hannah, nephews Jordan, Jaden, Danny, Shiloh and Jesse, and aunts, uncles and cousins in Newfoundland, Ontario, the West Coast and Los Angeles. Jackie was a lover of life. Her family and friends were very important to her. She was a great lover of all creatures of the earth, admired butterflies, birds and squirrels. Her two pugs, Daisymae and Bosco, were dearly loved and pampered. She also loved sports, was looking forward to watching the Blue Jays in the playoffs, and was anxious to return to her special olympic bowling league, swimming and baseball. Jackie will be greatly missed, especially by her mom, and by all who knew her, including her workers and friends at WDDS, Woodstock, Ontario, where she resided. We will never forget that happy smile. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas where the Celebration of Jackie’s Life will be held on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Donations in memory of Jackie to Ronald McDonald House would be appreciated by the family.

Dendekker, Warren Edward – It is with profound sadness that we announce that the LORD has unexpectedly taken Warren, age 10, to Himself on Thursday evening, October 1, 2015. He was the beloved son of Peter & Sandra Dendekker of Dundas, and dear brother of Emma, Noah, and Katherine. Cherished grandson of Simon & Henny Kranendonk of Ancaster and Peter Dendekker Sr. of Copetown. Warren was also much loved by many aunts’ uncles & cousins. Predeceased by his Nana, Nellie Dendekker (2005), and cousin, Byron Kloetstra (2006). Also missed by countless family and friends from near and far. Many and special thanks to Warren’s dear Aunt Wendy Roth, Dr. Sandra Malpass, Dr. Jim Spring, as well as staff of Peace Haven and teachers and staff at Beverly Central School for all their care and support over the years. If desired, memorial donations to The Sanfilippo Childrens Research Foundation or Peace Haven Free Reformed Association would be gratefully received by the family. Visitation Monday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Maranatha Free Reformed Church, 1114 Old Mohawk Road, Ancaster. September 5, 1934 – September 27, 2015 Peacefully at Shalom Manor on September 27, surrounded by her family, the Lord called home his child, Catherine, in her 82nd year. Cherished mother of Laura (Theo) Lambrechts, Peter (Janeta) Vandermeulen, Max Vandermeulen, Faith (Harry) Boer, and Darryl (Heather) Vandermeulen. Catherine will be missed by her siblings Albert VanderZwaag, Joan (Ken) VanderWal, and Harry VanderZwaag. Remembered and loved by her 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Catherine is predeceased by her husband, Mack (2010), her siblings Peter VanderZwaag, Ed VanderZwaag, and Jeanette Zwart. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, at ZION UNITED REFORMED CHURCH, 1238 Old Hwy #8, Sheffield. An interment will take place on Thursday, October 1, at 10am, at Mt. Zion Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Catherine’s life at ZION UNITED REFORMED CHURCH at 11 am. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Shalom Manor for the amazing love and care for Catherine over the past four years. TER WEEME, Hendrik Eliberth Jacob – Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Hendrik passed away on September 23rd after a lengthy illness. He will be greatly missed by his wife Renee, his children Jody, Paul (Ela), Peter (David), and grandchildren Nick, Hannah, Mhairi and Chloe. Older brother to Cees (deceased), Annette Wehmeijer, Michiel (Vicky) and their families in the Netherlands. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 31st at Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. The family wishes to thank Dr. Nash and the staff at Wentworth Lodge for their compassionate care during Hendrik’s time there.
