She is reunited with the love of her life Orval “Scrub” with whom she was married for 58 wonderful years, her precious son Craig and parents Bert and Winnie Hannah.
Loving mom of Sandy (Mike) Slack and Gregg (Joanne) Fleet. Cherished nana of Kyleigh (Zachary), Tyce (Alisha), Sydney and Hailey. Dear sister of †Robert Hannah and †Lois (Alan) Harper. Passed away at home after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by family. Clint will be loved and missed always by his daughters Valerie (Ben) and Stephanie (Kris Hill); his mother June Gilby; sister Debbie Main; grandchildren Taylor (Tyler) and Joey; niece Liz (Ted Hunter) and great-nephews Ryan and Adam. Predeceased by his father Ernest Gilby and brother-in-law Tom Main. Clint loved music and movies. He enjoyed spending time with his family and taking long drives admiring the scenery. Friends will be received by the family on Saturday, November 5th from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas for a celebration of Clint’s life. Cremation has taken place. If you so wish, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
Hammond, Elizabeth “Betty” Rolls (nee Blades) – at the Juravinski Hospital on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, in her 84th year. Betty met the love of her life, Al (1936 – 2002), in Coatbridge, Scotland. Married on Friday, April 3, 1959, they set sail the next day on their Canadian adventure, with a mere $100. Their family began with daughter, Karen (Laura) and then son, Ken (Cassandra). Devoted to her strong Christian faith, Gran enthusiastically cared for her grandchildren, Natasha (Patrick), little wee Megan (Daniel) and Keegan. She was thrilled to gain a bonus grandson, Braden, and 2 great granddaughters, Mackenzie and Aurora. Betty will also be greatly missed by her last surviving sibling, Agnes Fischer (Duane) and her nieces and nephews worldwide. Friends will be received by the family on Sunday, October 30 from 6-8 p.m. at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where the Service for Betty will be Monday, October 31 at 11 am. Interment will be at the White Chapel Cemetery, followed by a reception next door to the Funeral Home. Honouring her favourite colour, please wear a little something green for Gran.
Thompson, John Ross (affectionately known as Jack) born April 17, 1933 in Brantford, Ontario, sadly passed away unexpectedly in his 90th year on October 20, 2022. He leaves behind his loving wife of 9 years Betty, and is pre-deceased by his wife of 51 years Ann. He also leaves behind his two children Dianne Wojtasik (Jerry), Ross Thompson (Sharon), as well as six grandsons Rob Wojtasik (Laura), Adam Wojtasik (Vira), Derek Wojtasik (Caroline), Morgan Wojtasik, Devon Thompson, Collin Thompson, and seven great grandchildren. He also leaves behind Betty’s two children Bev (Brian) and Mike (Janice) and their children who fondly referred to him as Captain Jack. Many would have known Jack from his time as a custodian at Highland Secondary School in Dundas. A Celebration of Life for Jack will be held at the Lynden Legion (206 Lynden Road, Lynden, ON) on Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 2 – 6 pm, with Sharing of Memories starting at 3 p.m. Cremation has taken place and a private family internment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. George United Church, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on Sunday, October 16th, Lynda Dean (nee McKee) passed away at the age of 75. Loving wife to Gordon for 56 years, loving mother of Rod (Kathi), grandmother to Sam and Dan. Dear sister to Sherry O’Keefe and Sandra Smith (Doug), sister-in-law Peg Ferguson (Paul), brother-in-law Jim Dean (Andrea), and numerous nephews and nieces. We would like to thank the ICU unit at the General Hospital for a tremendous job. A Celebration of Lynda’s Life will take place at the Airforce Club (Dundas), on Saturday, Nov 5th from 2-5pm. Skubisz, Richard Ernest – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Richard Skubisz, who passed away peacefully on October 13th, 2022 at Welland Hospital after a brief illness. Beloved son to parents Catharina and Stanislaw Skubisz, Richard spent his childhood in Hamilton before moving to the Niagara Region at 16. Richard spent the last 43 years living in Port Colborne, leaving behind a large group of friends, family, and devoted support staff through Community Living. Richard will always be remembered as a man who lived life to the fullest, who was well-cultured and enjoyed the finer things in life. He never missed an opportunity to have fun, or show affection to the people in his life. He will be deeply missed. Arrangements have been made with Turner Family Funeral Home in Dundas for October 25th, 2022. Visitation will begin at 1pm, followed by funeral service at 2pm and burial at White Chapel Memorial Gardens at 3pm
