– Suddenly in Toronto on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at age 26. Beloved
son of Susan Cauchy and the late Michael Kavanagh and loving brother of Wade.
Grandson to Jocelyn Kavanagh and Elize Hartley. Dakota will be sadly missed by
his “second” mother Dawn Rivard (Ted), his aunts, uncles, cousins and
many friends. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday evening from
7-9 and Friday afternoon from 12 until Dakota’s Service at 2 o’clock at the
Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Interment
Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Nature Conservancy of
Canada would be appreciated.

McGuinness, Ursula

With her family at her side, Ursula passed away suddenly at St. Joseph’s Hospital Hamilton, on November 2nd, 2013 at the age of 58.  Ursula leaves her cherished children Caitlin Lazarus and Brennan Lazarus, her devoted partner Brian Underdown and her extended family Eric, Russell, Margot, Julian, Aubrey and Vivien Underdown.  She will be sorely missed by her sister Jackie McGuinness and brother in-law John Boisvenue and her dear cousin Laura O’Connell.  Born in Dublin and growing up in Montreal, Ursula was from her earliest years an adventurer.  After graduating from McGill, she joined CUSO as a teacher in Nigeria and travelled fearlessly through Africa in troubled times and other exotic places which influenced her decision to develop a career as a scientist devoted to vaccine research.  Settling in Hamilton in 1998 Ursula developed a successful practice as a patent agent with Gowlings.  Her family will remember her bright spirit, the many shared dinner conversations and her loving support. A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  A Service Celebrating Ursula’s Life will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday November 7th at 2 p.m.   In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton, would be appreciated by the family.

Bidgood, Elizabeth (Betty) nee Rickard

November 14, 1916 – October 28, 2013

Elizabeth (Betty) Bidgood (nee Rickard) – The family of Betty Bidgood announces her peaceful passing in her 97th year.  Predeceased by her husband George; survived by daughters Diann (Shellington) Millage of Fergus, Lynn Shepalo of Stevensville and Jaynn  Miller (Kevin) of Ancaster, grandchildren Kevyn, Andrew, David, Matthew, Chase and Alyson and five great-grandchildren and sister Elinor Ostertag; also predeceased by parents Howard and Henrietta Rickard, brothers Jack, Don and sister Marg Davies.  Residing in Ancaster for 50 years, Betty was a member of Ryerson United Church, life member of the Horticultural Society, a member of the African Violet Society, Ancaster Senior Centre and actively involved in community projects including the preservation of the original town hall.  Over the years Betty enjoyed sports as a member of the Ancaster Lawn Bowling Club and lifetime member of the Dundas Golf and Curling Club. Through McMaster University Betty supported the Epidemiology Department with field research in Ontario, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.  Betty’s long time, most loved activity was playing bridge! Private family service and internment. In Betty’s memory and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Fieldcote Memorial Park &Museum, Ancaster, 905-648-8144 would be appreciated.

Brooks, Mary Blanche – Peacefully at Idlewyld Manor on October 23, 2013, in her 102nd year. Predeceased by her husband Earl Grant Brooks (1991). Survived by many nieces and nephews including Scott (Nikki) Brooks of Ancaster. Service of remembrance at Bayview Mausoleum, 740 Spring Garden Road, Burlington at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 28.

Dunn, Frances “Jean”

January 26, 1931 – October 21, 2013

Dunn, Frances “Jean” – Peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital on Monday, October 21, 2013 in her 83rd year.  Jean was  predeceased by her loving husband Lyle as well as her sisters Peggy and Isobel.  Cherished mother of Ray (Colleen), Rodger (Debbie) and Carol (Tom).  Jean will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Mark, Lisa, Jamie, Matt, Kevin, Heather and Michelle, as well as many nieces and nephews.  Special thanks to the staff of St. Peter’s for their care and compassion shown towards Jean.  In keeping with Jean’s wishes a private family interment will take place at Grove Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Paul’s United Church in Dundas, would be appreciated by the family.

Forster, Grace Helen (nee Davis) – Peacefully called home on Monday, October 14, 2013 to be with her Lord in her 102nd year.  Grace has been reunited with husband George (1993), son Cameron (2013) and infant son Stanley.  Survived by her loving family, Eleanor (Eli) Gingrich, Allan (Sue), Hugh (Diane), Norman (Sandra), Keith (Pam) and daughter-in-law Fran.  Much loved “Nan” to 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.  Also survived by her sister Elsie Lewis, predeceased by brothers Russell and Frank and her sister Lily Fair.  Grace was a lifelong resident of Ancaster supporting her husband for many years on the family farm.  Her life was fulfilled through her love and dedication to her family, and as a devoted member of Westside Baptist Church.  Many were enriched and blessed by her gift of music.  Friends and family are invited to visit on Thursday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 12:00 until the time of Grace’s Service at 1:00 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  Interment Zion Hill Cemetery.  Donations in Grace’s name may be made to Westside Baptist Church or World Vision. Our sincere thanks is extended to the staff at Wentworth Lodge for the love and compassion shown to our Mom.
