Hodkin, Eva Elizabeth (nee Herniska) – Peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Eva passed away suddenly at St. Joseph’s Hospital On Monday, February 23, 2015. Predeceased by her husband Lloyd (2004). Eva will be dearly remembered and loved by her sons Allan and Joseph (Jocelyn) and her daughter Marlane Robertson; grandchildren Jenna, Jessica, Jeremy, Jordon, Michelle, Sean and great-grandchildren Kayla, Jackson, Emma and Hope. Eva was a member of the 447 Wing of the RCAF in Mount Hope. Eva loved making crafts and playing cards and both her and her husband were avid travelers. A special thank you is extended to the emergency staff, Dr. Gmora, the ER nurses and ICU staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital for being so kind and caring and allowing us to say good-bye as we thought mom would be coming home once again. Thank you to the staff on Cedar Grove at St. Joseph’s Villa for the care and compassion for mom over the years. In keeping with Eva’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Service and interment will take place at a later date. If you so wish, donations to the 447 Wing of the RCAF, Mt. Hope would be appreciated by the family.

November 16, 1934 – February 21, 2015

Hurren, Jacqueline (nee McCarty, Farrow) – It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dearly loved Jackie on Saturday, February 21, 2015 in her 81st year after a courageous battle with multiple illnesses. Left to mourn are her husband Gordon, sons Terry Farrow (Gladys), Barry Hurren (Diana), daughters Kimberley Farrow (Roland Lejambe), Vicki Farrow (Randy Griffiths). Will be sadly missed by grand children Tamara, Jonathan, Adam, Trevor, Sydney, Ashley, Rachel and 7 great grand children. Sadly missed by the families of Audrey Nicol and Lenore Castle. Predeceased by Keith A. Farrow (husband) and daughters Wendy, Tracey and grandson Keith. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 at Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Dundas. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. James Anglican Church, 137 Melville St., Dundas. Private interment to occur at a later date. Hill, James Charles “Jim” – Unexpectedly on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at the Hamilton General Hospital, one week before his 63rd birthday. Beloved husband of Susan (nee Hunter), and loving father to Reverend Wesley (Martina) of Bancroft and Dale of Hamilton. Proud grandpa of Johanna, Stephen and Josiah. Beloved son of Margaret and the late James Hill. Jim will be sadly missed by his mother-in-law Elizabeth Hunter and her family, his brothers; Kerby (Joan) and Bryon, his sisters; Marny Hay (Terry) and Wendy Roberts (Mike), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim was an Elder at Knox Presbyterian Church, Waterdown. Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Funeral Wednesday afternoon at 1 o’clock at KNOX PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 23 Melville Street, Dundas. Cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully declined. Gough, Ross Carswell – It is with sadness that we announce that Ross Gough passed away at home on February 11, 2015. Born on July 31, 1944. Predeceased by his parents James and Isabel Gough (Stenhouse). Brother to Heather (Al) and Janelle (James). Uncle to Jillian, Jeralee and Jolene. Great Uncle to Lucas and Hannah. Ross was a longtime supporter of the Tiger Cats and Maple Leafs. Many thanks to his long time landlord Jack. There will be no visitation or funeral as per his request. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Parkinson’s Society  would be appreciated.

LeWarne, Alice Elizabeth – died peacefully on February 18, 2015, at Idlewyld Manor, Hamilton, Ontario at the age of 97 years. She was born on September 26, 1917, the second daughter of George and Winifred LeWarne, in Mount Forest, Ontario. She is predeceased by her sister, Jane (1992). She graduated from Stratford Teachers’ College and from Queen’s University, Kingston, and taught for 34 years, primarily for the Hamilton-Wentworth Board of Education, before retiring. Betty was an avid bird watcher, a weaver, an amateur photographer, painter, an extensive world traveller and a maker of Cloisonne jewellery. She was honoured for her work by the Artisan’s Guild and by the Field Naturalists of Hamilton area. She will be sadly missed by several cousins in Jarvis, & Peterborough, Ontario, Vancouver, Lethbridge, Calgary, ( Alberta), and in Palo Alto, California, as well as many friends. There will be a Memorial Service to honour her life on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Binkley United Church, 1570 Main St. West, Hamilton, followed by interment in Little Lake Cemetery in Peterborough, Ontario on April 11, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Idlewyld Manor, 449 Sanatorium Road, Hamilton, ON L9C 2A7, Binkley United Church, 1570 Main Street West, Hamilton, ON L8S 1E8 or Frontier College, 35 Jackes Avenue, Toronto, ON M4T 1E2.

Zimmerman, Mary – Peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, February 16, 2015 at the Juravinski Hospital in her 68th year.  Mary was predeceased by her loving husband Ike.  Cherished mother of Lynne (Mike), Sherri ( Rod), Jim (Diane) and Kim (Craig).  Sadly missed by her sister Lynda (Brian) and predeceased by her brother Ken (Carol).  Much loved grandmother to Thomas, Allyssa, Renee, Danielle, Chaz, Tanner, Hadleigh, Mackenzie, Olivia, James and Emma.  Also sadly missed by her nephew Brad, niece Sara (Jordan), great-nephews Jonathan and Michael, niece Amy (Ken) and great-nephews Mason, Carter, Trenton and Lincoln.  Friends will be received by the family on Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where the Celebration of Mary’s Life will take place on Friday at 11 a.m.  Interment to follow at White Chapel Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre or the Cancer Assistance Program would be appreciated by the family.
