CAMPBELL, William Peter- Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on September 15th, 2015 in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Carole Campbell (nee Hils). Loving brother-in-law to Clifford Levely. Caring uncle to Geraldine (Dennis) Milliman as well as several other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Thelma. William was a scout leader for 20 years as well as a long-time member of Christ Church in Greensville. William worked at Slater Steel for 38 years as well as C.N.I.B. for 15 years. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Contributions to the Christ Church Flamborough-Cemetery Board would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Drury (nee Abbey), (Marilyn) Joan – Peacefully, surrounded by the love and support of her family, (Marilyn) Joan Drury passed away in her 84th year, on September 15, 2015. Beloved wife for 59 years of Douglas Drury, whose death preceded her own by exactly two months to the day. Loving mother of Kathryn Drury, David Drury (Cathy), and Jim Drury (Sheila). Grandmother to Meaghan, Alison, Spencer, Carolyn, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Hilary, Erin, Turner, and Clare. She will be forever remembered by her sister, Susan Abbey Sherman, her brother, Jim Abbey (Bette), her brother-in-law, Bill Drury (Betty), and sister-in-law Jean Wilson (Roger). Joan will be especially missed by lifelong friends Joan Luchak and Marilyn McKeeman. Joan truly enjoyed her time as Executive Director of the McNab Street YWCA in Hamilton and later as a dedicated employee at the Dundas Valley School of Art (DVSA). She spent time in her retirement volunteering with the DVSA Annual Art Auction and helping out at St. Mark’s United Church. Special thanks to Ali and Tyler, Joan’s nurses, and all of the wonderful, kind staff at St. Peter’s Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to a funeral service in honour of Joan at St. Mark’s United Church, 1 Lynndale Drive, Dundas, ON at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 19. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Peter’s Hospital, DVSA or St. Mark’s United Church in Dundas

Valvasori, Julie Helen Gertrude – It is with deepest sadness that we announce that Julie passed away unexpectedly and way too early on Wed. Sept. 2, 2015. She will always be lovingly remembered by her daughter Milly (Camille), father Jim, brother Jimmy, God-child/nephew big Kyle, nephew little Kyle, nieces Amanda and Samantha, dear friends David, Joan and Jaclyn and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by her mother Joyce. Special thanks for the loving care from the staff at the Hamilton General Hospital. There will be a service on Saturday, September 12 at 1:00 p.m. at Cattel, Eaton and Chambers, 53 Main St. Dundas, followed by a celebration of her life from 2 – 5 p.m. at the AIR FORCE CLUB. Donations may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation.
Your delightful laugh, kind heart and gutsy attitude will be greatly missed.

David Barnes was called home in the early morning of August 25, 2015. He was the beloved husband of the late Jean Barnes and father of Angela Barnes (the late John Turcsanyi), Faith Barnes-Lane (Malcolm Lane) and Dr. Claire Barnes (Dr. Ifty Nizami), cherished grandfather of Alexa Barkley (Scott), Stephen Turcsanyi, Julie Turcsanyi and Christian Lane, and great-grandfather of Kaitlyn, Sophie and Cameron Barkley. His passing has left a big hole in our lives. A bombardier in the RCAF’s Bison Squadron during WWII, he was the last surviving child of the late Rev. A. A. Barnes and Adella Davidson, having been predeceased by his elder brother just 11 days ago. A celebration of David’s life will be held on Sunday, August 30th at Dundas Baptist Church, 201 Governor’s Rd. Dundas, at 2:00 pm, a church he attended faithfully for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dundas Baptist Church or to the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton. Many thanks to the staff at Extendicare Hamilton for all their care and support.

With sadness we announce that Beverley peacefully passed away on August 25, 2015 at the Wentworth Lodge where she had been lovingly cared for. She leaves Ivan, her best friend and husband of 53 years, her son Jeffrey and sister-in-law Sara Lawrence (Ron), her brother Herb (Jane), nephews and cousins. Bev was born in Montreal, Quebec. The family moved to Granby before moving to Hamilton in her teen years. She graduated from Westdale Secondary School and worked in the office of Burlington Steel before her marriage to Ivan. She was a stay at home mom where she honed her domestic skills. With Ivan she was a past member of the Dundas Golf & Curling Club. She enjoyed both curling and golf. Beverley was an active member of the Dundas Garden Club and Ikabona Society. She will be missed by the members and especially her good friend Ruth Watson. In later years, Beverley assisted Ivan in his Podiatry practice in Hamilton and Oakville. They enjoyed entertaining their many friends in their home and cottage at Southampton where she also volunteered at the Southampton hospital and taught line dancing at the Community Centre. She was predeceased by her son Christopher Paul, her parents Bert and Thelma (Gagnon) Lock and in laws Francesca and Aladino Bucci. Our thanks to the staff at Wentworth Lodge (Maple Lane Section) and Dr. Scott Nash for their exceptional care. There will be a Funeral Mass at ST. AUGUSTINE’S CHURCH, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas on Saturday August 29, at 10 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Interment at Holy Sepulchre at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wentworth Lodge, Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of your choice. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Church Hall after the service.
