It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Connie Janet Binkley on December 26th, 2025, at the age of 72. Lovingly remembered by her sisters Betty Johnson (Pickle Lake) and Mary Binkley (Dundas), her nephews Peter Johnson and his wife Andrea, and Bryan Johnson (Whitehorse), her nieces Rosellen (Toronto), Christine (Pickle Lake), Samantha (Monterrey, Mexico), and Tabitha (Elko, Nevada). Great aunt to Elizabeth (Pickle Lake), Odyn, Nealla, and Gryphon (White Horse). Predeceased by her mother, Billie Elizabeth Binkley (nee Marsh), and father, William Jacob Binkley.
In Connie’s early years, she worked for Tom McCann Shoes, which took her across Canada and to the USA as a trainer and a manager. Following this, she went to work for Club Med (her dream job), as a Scuba Instructor and a Dive Master. They sent her to the Maldives, Tahiti, Guadalupe, Martinique, and Cancun. Unfortunately, after having multiple strokes due to a heart defect, she was unable to pursue this further. Connie then went on to work for Steetley (Lafarge) Canada, Harvey’s, and Walmart. As indicated, her favourite pastime was scuba diving and instructing. She was an instructor for the “Barascuba Underwater Club Inc” for several years.
Connie’s wish is to be cremated, and her ashes spread over the Maldives, her most happy place.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life is slated for the spring of 2026. In lieu of flowers, please take the opportunity to donate to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA.
I am so sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with you Betty and Mary. Our dads were so very close that as a child your home was like my second home and I have wonderful memories of Connie. Taken too young.
Sylvia and I loved you Connie. May you rest in peace.
Betty and Mary please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. That picture brings back so many memories of Connie as I knew her…. sweet, mischievous, generous, fun …so many ways to describe her and all good. I feel so blessed to have had the privelege of seeing the three of you and your Mum again a few? years ago when Joe and I visited Waterdown. He’s gone now too. Sending hugs and wishing you peace, and memories to bring you comfort at this sad time.
