Passed away peacefully with family by her side at Amica Retirement Home, Dundas on Thursday, April 3, 2025, in her 89th year.  Shirley was predeceased by her husband Jack and the two were married and joined together in love in 1956.  Once again, they will now be reunited in heaven forever.  Shirley will be missed dearly and was loved every day by her daughter Jacqui Kynast (Randy) who was always at Mom’s side since losing Dad, and helped so much for her to continue to live a happy life until joining Dad again.  Shirley was also dearly loved and will be missed by sons Larry (Carrie) and John (Annette).  Shirley was Gramma to Kellie, Samantha (Rob MacDonald), Tawnya, Laura and Emma; as well as 7 great grandchildren.

Predeceased by brother Wayne Wickens and sister Gloria Brown as well as many close brother and sister in-laws on the McCarthy side of the family.   Shirley was also known as a caring Aunt to many cherished nieces and nephews of her large, combined families.

Shirley had a successful life of happiness as she raised her family with Jack.  She always spoke proudly of her family.   She managed to touch the hearts of every person she ever met with her kindness, understanding love and fairness to everyone.

The family would like to particularly thank the entire staff who cared for Shirley in every way at Amica Retirement Home, Dundas, second floor assisted living area.  Your interactions and love shown in the last week of her life will never be forgotten and will leave a mark in our hearts forever.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, April 26th from 10:00am until the time of the service at 11:00 am at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  A short reception will follow at the funeral home.  Cremation has taken place, and a private interment will take place for immediate family only after the reception.
