You brought light and laughter to everyone you came in contact with but you also were a ‘no- nonsense’ man. That, I admire about you. Memories of you will be cherished forever. Thank you for sharing your life with me. Sleep on, Dewey.
I sadly say farewell to my uncle Dewey… A man who was so very close to my family my whole life .
I have fond memories of strolling the old Knollwood golf course , every Sunday … rain shine and even a little snow flakes .
We would leave early morning footsteps across dew soaked fairways and greens that never seemed to roll right . Dewey loved the game and wanted to be the first ones out … like our own private course .. 6am tee times .
Our rounds were always followed up with Sunday dinner at my moms … always with all the fixings and the best apple pie . Ecko my Jack Russell would sit beside Dewey … seemed to be roast beef a plenty at that end of the table. We would talk about anything and everything .. and lie about our golf game .
We shared laughs … beers .. and tears over the years. And even though I will miss him he will forever hold a special place in my heart … a place where family and friends reside .
I lost my Jack Russell Ecko the same day I lost my Uncle Dewey … hope he doesn’t feed her too much roast …
I love you Uncle Dewey … until we meet again … keep it in the fairway .. preferably your own ❤️?
Dewey will be remembered by many for the warm qualities he possessed …Dewey was kind, funny, loving, interested in people and loved his family … a rare combination in this busy world. The Angels have taken Dewey to watch over Judy, another wonderful and missed beautiful soul. Our hearts are with Lisa, Jeff, Justine and Danielle. With warmest thoughts, Barb and John.
Uncle Dewey! So sad that you are no longer with us. We never played golf together but we had one memorable mini putt game in Florida! Enjoy your game in heaven and watch out for lighthouses! Give my love to Judy and Auntie Buckle. Don’t worry about Lisa, Jeff and the girls, we love them and will look out for them for you. ??
Sending love to Lisa, Jeff, Danielle and Justine.
Wendy

Lisa, we will always treasure our wonderful memories of Dewey! We celebrated many of Danielle and Justine’s birthdays together with your friends and family. We looked forward to these occasions and the opportunity to spend time with Dewey and to get to know him. Later on, we enjoyed meeting Dewey’s friend Margaret and learning more about her too. What happy times those were in your backyard! You and your grandfather meant the world to each other! May you always remember the sweet memories forever!
Lisa Jeff and your two extraordinary girls, I feel your pain and sadness. I know how much your Grandpa meant to you and how he was loved beyond measure. I remember him to be a true gentleman as well as a gentle man. He has found peace in a time of turmoil. God Bless.
Dewey, where do I even begin? I have been thinking of you a lot lately and I speak about you often. You came to Emmanuel House with such an infectious energy and spunk. Your humor, witty flirtatious comments and sweet smile always had me smiling from ear to ear, even on the days when you were being stubborn and grumpy. You made this house a happier place and I am so grateful to have met you and cared for you. The memories and laughs I have from the time I got to spend with you will be cherished forever.
Thank you Lisa and family for sharing Dewey with us. Your love for Dewey was heartwarming to see. It was a pleasure to have you at the house and to get to know you as well. You became part of the family here very quickly. Even though it was a small time frame within his 95 years on this earth that we got the pleasure of knowing Dewey, it was filled with so much love, light and laughter. Forever sending you lots of kisses where ever you are right now. I hope you’re eating all the tomato soup and drinking all the chocolate milkshakes your sweet little heart desires. You are greatly missed.
All my love,
Dallas
