Rivando, Rocco Anthony (Rocky) Passed away where his heart was, at home, on Saturday June 30th, 2018, in his 88th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Beverly (2002) much loved Dad to Dean (Barb), Tammie (Brad) and Maria. Special and cherished Grandpa to Logan. His playful spirit will be missed by his beloved pups Daisy and Sage. Predeceased by his brothers Valentine, Rocco, Domenic, Frank, Adam, and sisters Frorina, Yolanda, Marie, Florence, and Eva. Rocky grew up in Port Colborne, the 10th of 11 children then laid down roots in Dundas after meeting the love of his life Beverly. Together they opened their own business Rivando’s House of Gold Beauty Salon on King Street in Dundas, where they made a charismatic team, working side by side for many years. Rocky was a long time member of Flamborough Hills Golf course and was an integral part of the men’s leagues and match play. He loved golf and he loved teaching other people to be better at golf. People had a way of gravitating towards him and he was happiest in the middle of the crowd socializing, sharing a good laugh, telling stories with people and as a result made many friends along the path of his life. He lived his life with spirit, a man of many talents, a perfectionist taking pride in all he did and was good at pretty much everything he turned his hand to and never gave up on anything he started. His life ended as he had lived it, lending his hospitality, humor, kindness, wisdom and a patient ear to all that he came across. His determination and will to go forward every day against the obstacles in front of him, were nothing less than inspiring. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Funeral Mass Thursday morning at 10 o’clock at CANADIAN MARTYRS CHURCH, 38 Emerson Street, Hamilton. Interment Mt. Zion Cemetery.

It was always a pleasure to visit with Rocky. My condolences to Maria, Tammy, and Dean.
I am sorry for your loss.
I always enjoyed visiting with Rocky especially in front of the garage where we could enjoy all the flowers in his gardens. I will miss his friendly smile.
As neighbours for forty-six years our family was the recipient of a humorous, compassionate and devoted family man. His love for people, dogs and gardening were a tribute to living his life on his own terms and has been passed on to his three children Dean, Tammy and kudos to Maria who co-existed her life with her Dad for many years.
Please accept our deepest condolences.

I will always remember the first pasta dish he made for me, in their first apartment on King Street in Dundas, a small home with a big heart.
