Szvitak/de Nobriga (nee Gomes), Helen Mary Anne –
Our family is saddened to announce the passing, after a brief illness, of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother. She was a devoted mother to Michael (Cindy), Karen (Wendall), Leslie (Dave), Michelle (Steve), Tyrone (Jackie), Mark (Lisa) and David. Grandmother to fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She now joins her predeceased soulmate, Frank. She was born June 26, 1934, passing on December 14, 2023 in her 90th year. Affectionately known as Granny, she lived a very eventful life due to her large family. A no nonsense straight shooter, you definitely knew very quickly if you were in her good or bad books. She was a lover of all sports and an avid TV watcher; in her later years you were likely to find her guarding the living room couch. She was a resident of St. Joseph’s Villa for the past three years. Many thanks for the compassionate care of the St. Joseph’s ICU staff during this difficult time. Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass for Helen will take place on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 11 a.m. at ST. AUGUSTINE’S CHURCH, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Donations in Helen’s memory to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
May you rest in eternal peace Granny, in the arms of our loving Father.
Our memories of you will last our lifetime. Please watch over us and keep a place for us until we see you again.
Sweet Helen, I’ll miss you, miss our phone conversations, during those of which you always spoke about Frank, and I’m sure you’re now with him in paradise. I love you Helen R.I.P now xo Condolences to all the family.

May Aunt Helen rest in peace. She leaves behind a large loving family, who we pray will find peace at this difficult time from the love and sympathy of those who greatly cherished and loved their mother and granny.
Deepest sympathy and condolences to the family.
I am so sorry for your loss. Helen was one of my favourite customers at Metro for the years I worked there. Helen was one of the few customers i truely missed when metro closed. Helen was always so pleasant, kind, caring and all around a beautiful person.
