January 17, 1923 – December 31, 2017
Simpson, Frances Audrey – Peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2017, beloved wife of the late Harold (2014), in her 95th year. Loving mother of Donna McRae (Dave), Ruth Simpson and Barb Christianson (Tim), and sadly missed by her grandsons Paul (Sandra) and Peter Christianson, and her great grandsons Kyle and Tyler. Frances is survived by her sisters HElen and Beth Twiss, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Gerald, Boyd, Bill and George and her sister Mary Neale. Frances graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1942, was a longtime member of Rock Chapel United Church, was a founding member of the Westover Artists and was very proud of her involvement in her community. Friends will be received by the family on Saturday, January 6, 2018, from 10 am until the time of Frances’ Service at 11 am at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Cremation has taken place. The family would like to convey their sincere appreciation to the staff at St. Joseph’s Villa, Maple Grove, for their excellent care and compassion shown to Mom.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. Fran was a very good friend of Bob’s mom and Bob and Harold had many good years at the hunt camp. I remember Bob saying how Harold wrote Fran a love letter every day at the camp I am sure he took a lot of kidding for that.
Aunt Francis will be sadly missed. I would always visit with her and Uncle Harold at the farm on my return to Dundas, and St. Joseph’s Villa in the later years. What a special place St. Joseph’s was, kind friendly people would always guide me to finding Aunt Frances room.
Heartfelt sympathy to the entire family, and love to all.
Bernard (Barney) Simpson, Pender Island, British Columbia.
