September 14, 1951 – May 20, 2016

Bromwich_Chris_B&WBromwich, Christopher Clark – With sadness and loving memories we say goodbye to Chris who passed away peacefully at Shalom Village on Friday, May 20, 2016, in his 65th year. Beloved husband of Patricia (nee Allan), and loving father to Marissa Genevieve (Andrew McLean) and Laura Bromwich. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary Bromwich (nee Middleton), his sister Marianne Porter and his children Christa, Matthew, Andrew and Lisanna. Fondly remembered by his brother Bill Porter (Mary Carlin),  his cousin George Butler (Caroline), numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.  Chris was known for being kind, loving, hardworking, artistic, musical, witty, devoted to his family and uncomplaining in the face of great hardships.  Chris was a member of the Valley City Lodge IOOF # 117, Dundas. Funeral Service will be held today, May 24th at 4:00 p.m. at ST. JAMES ANGLICAN CHURCH, 137 Melville Street, Dundas, ON followed by a Celebration of Life/Visitation at the Ancaster Old Mill with food and drinks, 548 Old Dundas Road, Ancaster, ON from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. For those who are unable to attend the funeral we invite you to attend the Celebration of Life/Visitation, all are welcome.  Special thanks to the staff of Shalom Village for their years of great care. Expressions of sympathy to the McMaster Children’s Hospital would be appreciated by the family. 

 

Dickinson, Gertrude Selma (nee Reimer)

June 12, 1929 – May 8, 2016

Gertrude Dickinson (nee Reimer), age 86, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016. Gertrude was predeceased by husband Howard, her parents Jake and Martha (nee Mudro) Reimer, sisters Wanda, Caroline, and Hannah, and brother Jake and their spouses. She is survived by eleven nieces and nephews. Gertrude was born June 12, 1929 in Lowe Farm, Manitoba. She chose a fulfilling career in nursing and spent many years working in northern Canada, Manitoba, then later in Ontario. After retirement she met and married Howard Dickinson who was a recent widower. They shared several years of happiness together before he passed away. Gertrude enjoyed being an active member of her church and will be remembered for her passion for life and care for others. Friends will be received by the family on Friday morning from 10 until the time of Gertrude’s Service at 11 o’clock at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Interment White Chapel Cemetery.

Shaver, Dorothy Irene (nee Dunnett) – entered into rest peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of Clinton Shaver (deceased) and forever cherished by her daughters; Janet Perka(Patrick), Patricia James (Murray), Deborah Gray (Craig),and her son Randy; 13 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren. Daughter of Arthur and Ethel Dunnett (deceased), sister of Keith (Joyce), Jim (deceased) Joan, June Powdrill (Tom) both deceased, Betty Mackie (Bob deceased), and Lennie (Charlene). Sister-in-law to Murray Shaver (deceased) Vera, Joyce Roung (Harry), and Barbara Dagg (Ronnie). Dorothy was a member of the Westover Baptist Church, where a Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be held Friday, May 27th at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Westover Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family. Thank you so much Reverend Dr. Jamie Robertson for your love and spiritual care to our Mother.

Moser, Jean Elva (nee Traver) – at the Hamilton General Hospital on Thursday, May 5, 2016, in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Alexander (1994) and loving mother to Edie Moser and Joe (Diane). Jean will be sadly missed by her 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, her sister Betty Donovan, her nieces and nephews, her caregiver Jim Budai and many friends. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday morning from 10 until the Service for Jean at 11 o’clock at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Interment to follow at White Chapel Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
