September 16, 1934 – August 29, 2018

WALSH, Stuart John – Died August 29, 2018 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving wife Vivian and daughters, Beth (Victor), Christine, and Lynn (Dave).  In death, he joins his beloved son Dannie (died 1978).  He is the cherished grandfather of Michael (Amy), David (Amanda), Erinn (Andrew), Shaun (Diana), Dannie, Scott and Sarah (Matt), great grandfather of Mark , Leo and Giuliana and uncle to Penny (Doug), father to his chosen  daughter Nicole and best friend to Donnie.  Stuart was born in Saint John, New Brunswick on September 16, 1934, one of 10 children, he is survived by his brother Ronald (Renee).  He was an avid sportsman; hockey was his passion. In fact, he continued to play hockey until he was 60.  He was a lifelong railway man beginning as trainman at the CPR in Saint John until he retired from Dofasco in 1999.  Stuart was a longstanding member of St. Joseph’s Church where he served as an usher.  He will be greatly missed by the many members of his extended family, his friends, neighbours and his church community.  Visitation from 9-11:00 a.m.  followed by Service at 11:00, Saturday, September 1, at ST. JOSEPH’S CHURCH, 260 Herkimer St. Hamilton, ON.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Joseph’s Church or Parkinson Canada.

Gallaher, Tamara Alice “Tammi”

November  25, 1968 – August 29, 2018

Gallaher, Tamara Alice “Tammi” – Peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, in her 50th year. Beloved wife of Brian and loving mother to Jason. Sadly missed by her father Steve Gerlofs, her in-laws Don and Betty Gallaher,  and predeceased by her mother Pat and stepmom Gail. Also sadly missed by her sister Janet Hannis (Dalton) and brother Dirk (Leslie), brother-in-law Kevin, her Robinson step-siblings; Paul (Carol), Eric (Carolyn), Gary (Mary) and Marnie (Trevor).Tammi will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received by the family on Friday morning from 10:30 until the Service at 12 noon at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Interment Grove Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy to the Juravinski Cancer Centre or St. Peter’s Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

July 24, 1971 – August 27, 2018

Gilmour, David John “Dave” – July 24, 1971 – Aug 27, 2018 – Loved dearly by his “one and only” Laurie and his girls Kalea and Maddy. Blessed with a lifetime of memories is his mom Karen Crewson (nee Llewellyn), sister Shannon and brother Joshua. Predeceased by his dad John Crewson. Loving son-in-law to Dave and Jenny Mielke, brother-in-law to Tim and the late Ken Mielke, and Jen (James) and Brenda (Rob). Grandson to Esther Llewellyn. Predeceased by his grandparents Lorne Llewellyn, Jack and Rita Gilmour, Ed Crewson, and Doris and Bob Putman. “Special Dad” to Matt and Mickey. David was blessed with many aunts,  uncles and cousins but they all know they held their own spot in his heart and life. To his baseball, UFC and fishing buddies, he loved you like family but I’m sure you already know that. David wore his heart on his sleeve, exactly where everyone could see it. Friends will be received by the family on Friday evening from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Cremation has taken place.  If you so wish, donations to the Canadian Red Cross – Violence, Bullying & Abuse Prevention would be appreciated by the family.

Russell, William John – Peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital on Sunday, August 26, 2018, in his 84th year. Beloved husband of the late Blanche (2010) and loving mother of Douglas (Tina) and Diane. Beloved grandfather of Justin, and sadly missed by his brother Albert, and his deLottinville in-laws; Leona Howe (Archie), Wayne (Beverley), Ed (Louise) and Joyce Crozier and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Harold, and sisters-in-law Barbara and Anne.  Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where the Service for William will be held Thursday morning at 11 o’clock. Interment at White Chapel Cemetery with reception to follow in the Cattel Family Centre (beside the Funeral Home). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.

Sansolita, Frederick

April 25, 1929 – August 24, 2018

Passed away peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital on Friday August 24, 2018 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Arlene Nichols for over 18 years. Cherished father to Rosemary Wright (Paul), Fred, Raymond (Wendy), Diana (Ryann) Gustus, and Dave (Sue). Loving grandfather of Len, Holden, Andrew, Garnet, Corbin, Adarose, and Cheryl-Lynne. Great-grandfather of Aleczander, Leahnora, and Aubry. Predeceased by his dear wife Ada (nee Avian) in 1995, brother Remo (2004), baby daughter Theresa, and his parents Guido and Rose. Fred was a loving and kind man who loved to vacation in Cancun and watch football with his family. He spent his last evening watching the Ticats. Fred was employed by Molson for over 40 years. Close friends and family knew him as a humble man with a quiet and steady faith. A Mass will take place at St. Augustine’s Parish, 58 Sydenham St, Dundas, on Wednesday August 29, 2018 at 11:00a.m. Burial to take place at Heavenly Rest in Windsor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Kitchen, D. Elizabeth (nee Buttrum)

March 31, 1932 – August 14, 2018

Kitchen, D. Elizabeth (nee Buttrum) – Passed away at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, on Tuesday, August 14, 2018.  Predeceased by her first husband James Allen Kitchen and second husband Blake Charlton.  Remembered and dearly loved by her son Paul and his wife Cathie; grandson Jake; brother Ron and niece and nephew Cathy and Scott.  Elizabeth was a long time member of Rock Chapel Church and recent member of Amica at Stoney Creek where she met some dear friends.  Many thanks to the surgical step down unit and ICU staff at St. Joseph’s Healthcare for their wonderful care.  In keeping with Elizabeth’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private Graveside Service will be held.

Hunter, Beatrice (Betty) Arlene

September 6, 1924 – August 8, 2018

Passed away peacefully in her 94th year at St. Joseph’s Villa, Dundas on August 8, 2018. Predeceased by her Husband Murray Hunter. Loving mother to Vicky, Dorothy, Chuck (Predeceased), and mother-in-law to Sandy. Cherished Grandmother to 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and the extended Hunter family. Many thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s for their care and compassion in her final days. There will be no funeral services per Betty’s wishes. Passed away peacefully at home with her family and friends by her side on August 2, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Joe Abt. Caring mother to Michael Merrill and step-daughter Jacquie Abt. Loving sister to Richard Guy and the late James Guy. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Forever loved and remembered by Dorothy, his wife of 58 years.  Predeceased by his son, Craig. Loving Dad of Sandy Slack (Mike) and Gregg (Joanne). Cherished Papa of Kyleigh, Tyce, Sydney and Hailey. Dear brother of Blake (Laura) both deceased, Blanche (Bruce), Ralph (Jean), the late Howard (Jennie), Phyllis (the late Vernal “Pete”), Lorne (Wanda), Ivan (Kathy) (the late Olive), Marian (John) and Margaret (the late Murdoch). Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on Monday July 30, 2018 in her 105th year. Beloved wife of the late George. Loving mother to Donna (Paul) Phillips and the late George Jr.. Caring sister of Michael and Anne (Len – predeceased) Cherepa. Predeceased by her siblings Bill, Tony, Eddie, Theodore, Virginia and Mary. Grandmother to Richard and Doug (Jennifer). Great-grandmother to Olivia. Sophie will be missed by many nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Dundas Seniors Club and Long-time member of St. Augustine’s Parish. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to all the staff of Lilac Garden for the compassionate care they gave Sophie.
