WINDUS, John Edward – John died peacefully, in his 67th year, at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice on the morning of May 9th, 2019 after a long and difficult struggle with glioblastoma. He was loved and supported by his wife April Zebroski, children Zachary Windus, and Veronica and Mark Dyer; mother-in-law Alice Zebroski; sister-in-law Carol Donahoe and her family Andrea Dorman and Daren Hockaday, Tyler, Alicia and Gabe, Laura Donahoe, and David Lindley; sister-in-law Liz and Tom O’Brien, Jennifer, Heather and Sarah. John will be greatly mourned by his mother Velma Windus, his sisters and their families: Barbara and Robert Root, Joyce and Roger Touw, Jeannie and Steve Grundy, Rene and Ken Rayner. He was greeted in heaven by his father Ed Windus, father-in-law Eddie Zebroski, beloved brother Michael Zebroski, infant brother James and sweet and most precious niece Scarlett. He left behind an extensive Polish family and many friends who will always miss him. John touched many lives as a teacher and principal with the Hamilton Wentworth Catholic District School Board. He enjoyed his post-retirement life as an award-winning photographer with Lifetouch. He really enjoyed his post-post-retirement life watching sports on his big screen TV with his four cats. He sang in the choir at St. Joseph’s and was a member of their Parish Council. We will always remember the incredible support we received from family and friends who drove us to Princess Margaret Hospital, fed us many delicious meals, looked after our cats, and comforted us during so many times of great sorrow. Visitation will take place at the Turner Family Funeral Home in Dundas on Sunday May 12th from 2-4 and 7-9 with Vigil Prayers at 8. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Hamilton, on Monday May 13th at 11am. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery. John spent the last five weeks of his life being lovingly cared for by the staff of the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice. We would greatly appreciate donations in his name to this remarkable facility. John’s quick wit and mischievous spirit will be greatly missed. Heaven will resound with the sound of his laughter.

Wojtasik, Peggy Anne (nee Guenther) – It is with profound sadness that Peggy’s family announces her passing on May 8, 2019 at West Haldimand General Hospital in her 74th year. She will be forever loved and remembered by her husband of 41 years, Stan; her beloved son Carey (Danielle); the light of her life, her precious granddaughter Hannah; brothers and sisters Rae (Vera) Guenther, Pat (John Martel), Terry (Margie) Guenther, Sheila (Rick Binkley) and Nancy Robertson; brothers-in-law Walter and Jerry (Dianne) Wojtasik and sisters-in-law Stella (Bob Ziegler) and Janet (Weldon Reeves) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Margaret and Alfred Guenther, sister-in-law Mary Guenther, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Audrey and Floyd Gillam. Many thanks to the nursing staff at the West Haldimand Hospital for their care and compassion. Donations in Peggy’s memory can be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation. In keeping with Peggy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and family will attend a private interment at Graveside. A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #36, Dundas, 280 King Street West, on Tuesday, May 21st at 1:00 p.m..

Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of Walter for over 62 years. Loving sister to Jack (2016), Harry (2018), Vera, and Margaret (2017). Predeceased by her son Gary (2004). She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Many thanks to all of the caregivers at St. Joseph’s Villa that supported Frances and the family on this journey. Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, on Monday, May 6 from 3-4 p.m. with a Memorial Service immediately following at 4:00 p.m.. Judd, Norman David – It is with great sadness that the light and love of my heart passed away on April 23, 2019. Norm will be lovingly and forever missed and remembered by his wife Wendy, his daughters Danielle (Mark) and Patricia (Robert), granddaughter Bethany, grandson Edward. Norm will be missed by his loving family, Roger (Barbara), Ruth (John), Guy (Stella), Robert (Judy). Predeceased by his parents Albert and Annonciade, brothers Raymond and Nick. Norm will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, golfing and coffee buddies. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019, from 2-4 p.m., at Knollwood Golf and Country Club, 1276 Shaver Road, Ancaster, The Old Course. November 7, 1929 – April 28, 2019. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Teresa Rosette (Morra) at St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas on Sunday, April 28, 2019. Teresa was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Gerry Rosette.
Teresa leaves behind her daughter LouAnne (Greg) Disher, her grandchildren Kelsey, Nicholas (Katlyn), Samantha (Josh) and great-grandson Dean Hoeppner.
Teresa was born in Toronto, Ontario the daughter of the late John and Lena Morra. Dear sister of Anna Granger, Don (Rachel), Paul (Shirley), Flo Duz (Al) and the late Rocco, Dena, Mary, Nancy, Dolly, Anthony, Betty and Josephine. Teresa will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Teresa spent most of her youth in Bracebridge, where she had very special memories and spoke fondly of those times. Teresa trained at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Toronto and began her nursing career in Welland where she met Gerry. Gerry’s career took them to various cities across Canada. In 1984 they moved to Chippawa which was a life time dream of theirs to live along the Niagara river.
Teresa’s family will miss her dearly, she will forever be in our hearts.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Maple Grove Unit at St. Joseph’s Villa for the outstanding care and compassion they have shown mom and our family over the past few months.
Cremation has taken place, a celebration of life will be held at a later date, followed by the interment in Bracebridge, Ontario. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Villa Foundation.

Holroyd, James “Jim” – passed on April 23rd, 2019 at the age of 88. Jim was born February 20, 1931 in Oldham, Lancashire, England to William and Hannah Holroyd, and immigrated to Canada in 1978. He was a self-employed painter and decorator. Jim always had a story to tell, a joke to be shared, and a cheek of a grin. Jim was the beloved husband to his late wife Barbara, and brother to late sibling Peter Holroyd. Jim is survived by his sister Rita Barnes, and his brother Denis Holroyd (Sheila). Loving father to Peter (Annette), Janet (Steven), Gillian (Chris). Proud grandfather to Paula, Cheryl, Matthew, Sherilyn, Cole, Chelsea, and Luke. Jim was a “chuffed” great-grandfather to Archie and Leila. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation between 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 30th, 2019 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, followed shortly after by a gathering at a nearby Pub. Jim had a great passion for reading, so in lieu of flowers, donations to the Hamilton Public Library would be appreciated. Help Jim give the gift of reading to others.

Born March 30th, 1924. Mary Beth passed peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Good Friday, April 19th, 2019 in her 96th year, surrounded by family. Survived by her brother, Rev. Donald C. Brown and family; daughter, Susan Gogishvili and family; son, Charles Cummins and family; and the Capper and Munn families. She was an active member of St. James Anglican Church in Dundas and a teacher in the Hamilton Elementary School System for 29 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, aunt and friend to many and will be lovingly remembered. Cremation has taken place. A Funeral service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 137 Melville Street, Dundas, at 2:00p.m. on Saturday, May 4th, followed by a Celebration of Life which will be held at 4:30 p.m. at Baranga’s On-The-Beach, 380 Van Wagners Beach Road, Hamilton. All are welcome. Memorial donations to St. James would be appreciated by the family.

Shaw, Garry Michael – Passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 20, 2019 in his 54th year. Beloved husband of Danielle. Caring brother to Rhona, Peter (Becky), and John Shaw (Mary). Beloved brother-in-law to John Segato (Debbie). He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents John and Helen Shaw of Greenock, Scotland. Garry loved golfing with his friends. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and would try to golf abroad when possible. He enjoyed discussing politics as well as current events and would contribute letters to the editor in the Spectator. Garry had a great sense of humour and loved to debate. He loved his dogs, Dexter and Dusty, and missed Toto (2015) greatly. He enjoyed taking them for walks to the park. Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, on Wednesday, April 24th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 25th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Donations can be made in memory to the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA.

Green, Jack Frederick – Of Dundas passed away at St. Joseph Hospital peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the age of 94. Born on January 26, 1925 in Hamilton. He was the son of Allen and Alice Green. Jack was predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Norma. Jack grew up in West Hamilton with a shot gun and fishing pole in his hands, he loved the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, camping or just enjoying a long walk. Jack also enjoyed watching sports and was a familiar face around the local ball diamonds and arenas as he followed the local sports teams. Jack always seemed to have a smile on his face and a witty comment or come back for you. Surviving Jack are his son Brett (Louie) Green of Dundas and daughter Darci Beamish (Green) of Calgary, her three children Christopher Beamish (Melissa), Kimberly Vockins (Beamish) and Cameron Beamish and his two great-grandchildren Marshall and Vayda. As well as his brother Dave, brothers-in-law Brad Clarke, Jack Peer & sister-in-law Jane Biggins. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Christine Green and son-in-law Dale Beamish, brothers Allen, Alf, Art, Ernest and sisters Sally Peer, Annalea (Polly) Clarke, Mary Campbell and Ellen Held. Jack will be missed by all his surviving family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. West and all the nurses and staff at Blackadars Continuing Care for all the compassion and care shown to Jack during his stay. In keeping with Jack’s wishes cremation has taken place and interment will take place at graveside with his family. If you so wish, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.

Peacefully, and with a valiant determination to stay, Mom lost her battle with cancer at the age of 84. She left this world on her own terms, in her own home and with her children by her side. She leaves now to join her beloved husband Carl. We find comfort in knowing that no finer man could be waiting for her on the other side. Finding strength in her spirit forevermore are her children, Steve (Lorraine), Fred (Sally), Jeff (Karen) and Cyndi, and her grandchildren; Stefanie and Jorden Moir, Tammy Billard, Alanah Head, Erin Sneyd, Lindsay and Chelsea Moir, Kylie Harris and Cody Howard and her great-grandchildren, Sophia, James, Autumn, Charlotte and Everly. They will grow to know their Great-Grandma through our stories and remembrances. Mom also leaves behind her step-children, Karla, Kelly and Kamala and her sisters, Anne Litzen and Val Owens. Mom is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Mabel, and her siblings, Shirley, George and Jim. Mom was retired from the A&P in Dundas and loved playing cards, winning at the casino and spending time at the Hamilton Air Force club. She leaves behind her cat Pepper, who continues to search for her since her passing. We thank Dr. Kouroukis, without whom she may not have had the opportunity to meet her great grandchildren. We thank Dr. Anna-Marie Emili who, with her care and commitment, made mom’s passing as peaceful as possible. Lastly, we would like to extend our appreciation to our support team, PSW’s Michelle, Vicky and Mary, VON and LHIN staff who supported us in mom’s final days. Special thanks to Colleen and George.
