Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on Saturday, November 30, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Bill (2011). Loving mother to Steven Kiss (predeceased-2017), John Kiss, James Kiss (Rita), Suzanne (Jeff) Swift, and Belinda Watts. Sister to David (predeceased) and Suzanne. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Amy (Travis), Bradley, Emily (Robin), Michaela (Jacob), Andrew and Dawson; her great-grandchildren Olivia, Ada and Benjamin. As per Arlene’s wishes cremation has taken place with a service to be held at a future date. Passed away peacefully at The Meadows in Ancaster on Friday, November 29, 2019 in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Harry (2010) married since June 15, 1946. Lovingly remembered by her daughters Denise-Ann Raposo, Edith Poxon (Les), Susan Veale (Gary), Karen Dunnam; as well as her grandchildren Michelle-Ann (David), Melanie (Jason), Adam, Jessica, Jeff, Sean (Laura), Chris and Mike(Kerry); great-grandchildren Brandon, Alexa, Justin, Mikayla, Crayton, Thomas, Natalie and Charlotte; brother-in-law Roy G. Taylor, sister Marion and sisters-in-law Joan Logan and Mamie Taylor; Predeceased by her parents. Friends will be received by the family on Saturday, December 7th, at 1pm at the home of daughter, Dee, Burlington, where a celebration of Ann’s life will take place. Passed away peacefully at Hamilton Continuing Care on Saturday, November 23, 2019 in her 100th year, with her loving family by her side. Predeceased by her husband Jim (2010). Madeline will be dearly loved and remembered always by her son John (Judy); daughter Lynn (Ray Varey); daughter-in-law Jo-Anne; grandchildren Kelly (Evan Hildreth), Michael (Candice Thomson), Jeremy (Susie), Kerri (Billy Tonnies), Stephanie (Jon Fournier), Candice Montgomery, Lindsay (Sean Cline), David Cruickshanks (Andria), Krystie and Kailey; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces Deborah (James Llewellyn) and Heidi; nephew Michael Whitlaw; niece-in-law Donna Cobb; son-in-law Paul Cruickshanks (Rosemary Coomber) and sisters-in-law Joanne Hicks (Don) and Isabelle Whitlaw. Predeceased by son James Stephen Whitlaw, sister Norma Cobb and nephew David Cobb. Madeline was an Artist for over 35 years creating beautiful things that were appreciated by many. She was a volunteer in her community and the love of her life were her family, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff at Hamilton Continuing Care for the kindness and care they provided over the last several weeks. Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday, December 3 at 11:00 for Madeline’s Service at KNOX PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 23 Melville Street, Dundas. Passed away peacefully at the Carpenter Hospice on Friday, November 22, in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Blanche for over 56 years. Loving father to Andrea (Sean), Shannon (Paul), Valerie (Leo) and Dan (Summer). Loving Pops to Gillian (Jim), James, Nevin, Charlotte, Roxanna, Owen, Ryan, Colleen, Hudson, Camille, Lucan, and Liam. Remembered fondly by brother Gerry (Sharon) and Uncle Jack to several nieces and nephews. On November 15, 2019, Harriet passed away peacefully with family at her bedside. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 69 years, Henry Sprague. Harriet was born on March 6, 1920 in Hamilton where she lived all her life. There, she and Henry raised three sons: Hugh (Leslie), Stephen (Joanne), and Harry (Odalys). She is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Harriet was an avid bridge player, an enthusiastic opera fan, and an intrepid world traveller, but her greatest love was Pointing Pines, the family cottage in Muskoka. Over decades, family, friends, pets, and chipmunks enjoyed her generous spirit and gracious hospitality.
We would like to thank the staff members at Amica Dundas, McMaster Family Practice and St. Joseph’s Healthcare for their compassionate, professional care.
In keeping with Harriet’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A family gathering will take place in the spring. To honour Harriet’s love of nature, please consider a donation to the Royal Botanical Gardens or The Owl Foundation in Harriet’s memory.

Our family is profoundly saddened to announce Ken’s sudden passing on Tuesday, November 19th at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He slipped away quickly and peacefully, with his loved ones by his side.
He was a devoted husband for 55 years to his beloved wife, Margaret (née Harris), the much-loved father of Allison (Mark Litfin) and Kathryn (Russell Rowse), and loving Grandpa to Christopher Litfin, who was the apple of his eye. He is fondly remembered by his nephews Mike and Vince Rutter and their families, and by all his treasured family in the U.K..
Ken worked at many different jobs before embarking on his career as an elementary school teacher. His retirement in 1989 allowed him to spend many years enjoying his family, travelling and doing volunteer work. He will be very much missed by his family, friends, and church and volunteer communities.
A visitation will be held at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Dundas, on Sunday, November 24th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. A funeral service will take place at Christ Church Flamborough, 92 Hwy. #8, Dundas, on Monday, November 25th at 2:00 PM, with visitation prior from 1:00 PM. Please join us for a reception in the church hall after the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to either the Hamilton Foundation for Student Success in support of the Ken Snell Memorial Student Award at Westdale Secondary School or to Christ Church Flamborough, where Ken was a long-time member of the congregation, would be appreciated by the family.

Cook, Carol – 77 of Dundas, ON, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, November 13th, 2019. She was born in Paris, ON on August 12, 1942 and moved to the Hamilton area as an adult to continue her nursing career. Lifelong partner of Gary; loving mother of Jim (Carol), Cameron (Linda) and Deb (Jason); cherished grandmother to Ben, Spencer, Damien, Gabriel, Emma and Abby. Survived by her mother Annie and sisters Susan, Ann Marie and Lorie and many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by her brother Paul, sister Diana and father Herb. She had a passion for knitting that was only exceeded by her desire to help people. She had a big heart and freely gave of herself to anyone needing love, care and support. She was a long time member of Binkley United Church participating over time as a worshipper, in the choir, the kitchen and in many social groups. She was also a dedicated volunteer at Ronald McDonald House, Wentworth Lodge and even knitted and donated hats and booties for babies to area hospitals for several years. She was recognized for her service with the Heart of the Community Volunteer Award in 2015. She will be deeply missed by her family and the many people she touched through her life. Friends will be received by the family on Monday afternoon from 1:00 until the time of Carol’s Service at 2:00 p.m. at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Roussel, Joan – Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late John William Roussel, and loving mother to Bill of Alberta, and the late Bobby. Joan will be missed by her grandchildren, her nieces and nephews, especially Bryan White and Pat Risk, and her great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters; Thomas (Mary) McGrath, Samuel (Lillian) McGrath, Marion (Doug) Thompson, Helen (Harold) Ramey and Doris (Marvin) White. Born in Dundas, Joan worked at the Dundas Dairy Bar, before moving to Hagersville where she worked for Hewitt’s Dairy Bar for 30 years. Friends will be received by the family on Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 1 until the Service for Joan at 2 o’clock at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Interment at White Chapel Cemetery followed by a reception at the Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy to St. Joseph’s Villa Foundation, The Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Guy Russell Hunt passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital, Hamilton, Ontario, on Wednesday, November 6, 2019. Born on June 28, 1930 and raised in Lynden, Ontario, Guy was never far away from his Copetown-Sheffield family roots. Guy was predeceased by his mother Hazel (nee Russell), father George, brother Carol, sister Barbara (Ed Olmsted) and sister Patricia (Bob Marshall). He was also predeceased by his in-laws Rev. George Cardy (Dilys), Clara Clare (Ed), brother in-law Ross and stepsister in-law Anna Lyn (Andrew). He is survived by his loving wife Helen (nee Cardy) of 69 years who was his devoted soulmate since grade school. He leaves behind his son Kevin and wife Lucy, along with grandsons Ryan and Anthony who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his brothers and best friends who were always there for each other: Jack (Wilma – deceased), Bob (Joyce), Jim (Lois) and David (Jorie). He leaves behind his sister-in-law Barbara (Bill – deceased), stepsisters-in-law Susan (David – deceased) and Jackie as well as many nieces and nephews. Guy started his career as a carpenter for Smitty Construction in the late 1940’s working up to the role of lead foreman where he helped create many of the unique buildings standing along the Mountain Brow today. In the 1960’s, Guy started working for Dofasco as a millwright with Blast Furnace Mechanical as a Group Leader looking after steel construction in the Bayfront until he retired in 1987. Since his retirement, Guy put his talents to use and kept busy with wood-working creations that now he leaves behind. The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at both the Hamilton General and St. Peter’s Hospitals over the last few years. Special thanks and appreciation from the family to Dr. Richard Packer for his constant devotion and understanding care over the many years. A Service will be held at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. A time of fellowship at the Cattel Centre located next door to the funeral home will take place after the interment.

After a lengthy illness, Raymond passed away peacefully with family and friends by his side at St. Peter’s Hospital on Saturday, November 2, 2019. Predeceased by his loving partner Joan (2015). Raymond is survived by his brother Peter (Shirley); daughter Jayne; grandson Shane and son Andrew. He will be remembered by Ian, Simon and Liam, great friends Steve and Janet and companion Jill as well as many friends and neighbours locally and in England. Thanks to the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital for their kindness and compassion during his final journey, especially his family doctor Julie Emili. Friends will be received on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where Raymond’s Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Grove Cemetery.
