Reynolds, Orval Roy

reynolds_orv 001Oct 5 1927 – July 2 2013 – It is with saddened hearts we inform you of the passing of Orv on Tuesday, July 2nd 2013 at the Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton in his 86th year.  Loving husband and best friend of 63 years to Eileen, devoted father to Nancy (Mike) Brown of Simcoe, Paul (Julie) Reynolds of St. Catharines and their children, Kyle and Christopher, brother to Shirley Carscadden, of Sault Ste. Marie.  Predeceased by his infant daughter Rebecca Jane (1958).  Orv began his teaching career in 1948 and retired from the Hamilton Board of Education as a Principal in 1984.  For 23 years Orv was a member of the Choir at Central Presbyterian Church, 165 Charlton St., West, Hamilton, where a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 13th 2013 at 11a.m. Cremation has taken place.  In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice, in his memory would be appreciated.

Braat, Cora Elizabeth (Ma)

Peacefully at the Meadows on July, 1 2013 in her 94th year, wife of the late Bill Braat.  Loved by her children; Herma Rossin (Cliff), Robert deRuiter (Elaine), Louis deRuiter (June), Jane Braat and Peggy Gaudet. Loving grandmother to Shane, Clarence (deceased) Lenora, Lance, Luke, Christie, Buffy, Cassandra  and Nicholas.  Survived by many great grandchildren, sister Ina Maarleveld and brother Pieter Timmerman in Holland.  Private funeral arrangements.  Thanks to the wonderful staff at the Meadows in Ancaster.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy to the S.P.C.A or a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

Kush, Stephanie (nee Sekuta)

It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Stephanie on Saturday, June 29, 2013 in her 96th year, with family by her side.  Beloved wife of the late Frank Kush.  She will be missed by sister Tillie Bent (Guy) of Brantford. Special aunt to Laraine Belbeck (Tom) of Dundas, Carol Daley (Rick) of Hamilton and their families.  Sister-in-law of Stella Greer of Burlington.  Brother-in-law Carl Maloney of Brantford.  Predeceased by her sisters, brother and brothers in law, Allie Kempa (Frank), Josephine Blank (Zig), Stella Olender, Freda Maloney, Laura Krukowski (Henry), and Richard and Edith Sekuta.  Stephanie will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews in the Brantford and Hamilton area.  Family and friends will be received by the family on Wednesday, July 3rd from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  A Mass will be held at ST. AUGUSTINE’S CHURCH, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas, on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at10 a.m.  An interment will take place the following day at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Brantford at 10 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

McKeown, Gary

It is with great sadness we report that Gary McKeown of Montreal, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died peacefully on Wednesday afternoon in Hamilton, Ontario after a long, well-fought battle with kidney and heart disease. He is survived by his wife Lois and 4 children Mark (Heather), William, Alex, Dianne (Joey), and precious grandson, Archer.  He made friends with all and went out of his way for everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by all. Our love is with him always.  Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where Gary’s Service will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.  Cremation to follow.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Gerry will be sadly missed by his 8 brothers and sisters, and his many friends at the RCL Br#36 Dundas, Where he was a forty year member, and the Poppy Fund Chairman for over 15 years. Hebert, Annette Marie

Dear mother of Vivianne (Gilles) and Rachelle (Bill-deceased); Grandma to Dwight (Nora), Rene,  Nadene (Steve) and Katherine (Chris); Great Grandma (aka GG) to Connor, James, Alexa, Brianne, Kendra, Tomas and Brennan. Aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Annette will be reunited with her brothers and sisters, son-in-law Bill and Great Grand-Daughter Kendl. Thanks to everyone who took part in her care; in the hospital, at First Place, the special PSW’s from Above and Beyond and those from her last resting place–HOME–St. Joseph’s Villa. With her wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 1-3 p.m. for visitation at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main St, Dundas. Ross, Elizabeth "Betty"

Peacefully after a Brief Illness and with Dignity, Betty passed away on June 19th 2013. Beloved wife of George (deceased), and loving mother of Valerie (deceased), Donald (Brenda) and Lisa (Ed).) She leaves behind her Treasures: Grand-daughters Kim (Steve), Heather and Jessica. Her Grandsons Michael (Tammy), Jason, Christopher (Kaylee), Great Grandchildren Michaela, Nicholas, Michelle, kayla, Ashley, Aiden, Patrick, Jordan, Ciara, Evan and Emma. Betty is pre-deceased by her parents John and Mary Johnston. sister, Mary and brothers, Alan, William and Johnny. Betty was born in Prestwick, Scotland (March 7th 1926.) Also a long-time employee at Eatons for 31 years. A Celebration of Betty’s Life will take place at MacNab St. Presbyterian Church. 116 MacNab St. South, Hamilton. On Tuesday, June 25th at 1 p.m.

Watson, Ronald

We the family are greatful to announce that the spirit of Ron has returned onto the father who gave it. Ron is survived by his loving wife Joyce Louise (nee Donovan) his children Penny (Barry) Thompson, Robert (Marilyn) Watson and Charles (Kathrine) Watson. Also sadly missed by his grandchildren Derek, Stephanie, Jennifer, Domonick, Andrea, Nakia, William, Krystal, Garth (Shelley), Kevin, Troy (Lisa) as well as 9 great-grandchildren. Ron is survived by his sisters-in-law Liz Stewart, Ida Robinson, Shirley Rankin, Pat Freeman (Gary) and brothers- in- law Ross Chant (Peggy), Jody Donovan (Debby) and Jim Donovan (Abbey) and his many relatives in Scotland Cliff, June, Ruth and Alan. Ron was predeceased by his parents William and Margaret, father and mother-in-law Roy and Louise and his sister Isabel Chant. Ron will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews. A special mention to Kathryn Chant for all of her help in the care of uncle Ron as well as long-time special friend Louise Bonnewell for her help and support, dear neighbours Bert and Maria Szucs the many Doctors. Nurses and PSW’s. Ron was a member of the Dundas Seniors Club and worked for 41 years at the Oakville Ford plant and has been retired for 18 years. He enjoyed and loved his family first, his burgundy car, The Grand Ole Opry, pipes, electric guitar, camping, hunting, roses and will be remembered for his special humor. Friends will be received by the family, on Friday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where the Celebration of Ron’s Life will take place on Saturday, June 22nd 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at White Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or C.A.P would be appreciated by the family.

Chadwick, Ruth Isabel

On Saturday, June 15, 2013 at The Village of Erin Meadows Nursing Home in her 98th year. Predeceased by her husband William James Chadwick (December 1, 1997).  Predeceased by her daughter Grace Anne and her husband John Wiley.  Survived by her granddaughter Martha and her husband Steve Groot and their children Jason, Jeremy, Eric and Claire and by her grandson Mark, his wife Caroline and their daughters Megan and Rachel.  Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Ruth’s service at 11:30 a.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  A private interment will take place at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

 

Pocock, Margaret Roberta (nee Ducsharm)

(1921-2013) – Margaret passed away peacefully on Friday June 7. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Norval, daughter Shelley, and her 6 brothers and 4 sisters. She will be missed by her children Ann (Jim) Eydt, Bill (Nell), Judy (Harvey) Woodhouse, Bob, and Cathy (Linda, deceased). Margaret was a special grandmother to 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held in July. Special thanks to the staff at Ridgeview Long Term Care Centre for their kindness and care.
