MacQueen, Florence (Chisholm) Passed away peacefully May 9, 2015 in Dundas, Ontario. Predeceased by her beloved husband Rev. Stanley G. MacQueen with whom she served in many communities in the Maritimes and in Ontario. She is survived by her children, Ken (Marion), Graeme (Sharon), Margaret and Lorna, and by her grandchildren, Jessica, Luke and Simon (Rosa). A Memorial Service in Dundas, Ontario on May 12 will be followed by a service in St. John’s United Church and internment in Port Morien, Cape Breton at a date to be determined. Cherished lovingly in our hearts.

Joan passed away peacefully on May 9, 2015, after a long illness. She was in her 71st year. Joan is survived by her long-time partner, Raymond Shortman of Dundas; her sons Ian, Simon (Lesley); her grandson, Liam; and brother David Hardcastle in England. A very special thank you to Casey, Janet & Steve, Carolina, Martin (Tom) & Maria, Amanda, and Lynn & Chris. Joan had many friends and family who thought the world of her. Please know that the family is very grateful for your love and support to her over the years. Thank you to Dr. Laurie Elit and her team; the nurses, doctors, staff at the Juravinski Cancer Centre & Hospital, especially in Section C-3. And to her homecare nurse, Mui, for her help above and beyond the call of duty these past few years. Friends will be received by the family, on Thursday afternoon & evening from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where the Celebration of Joan’s Life will be held on Friday May 15th at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. If you wish, donations in Joan’s name may be made to the Juravinski Hospital & Cancer Centre.

After a lengthy battle, Doug passed peacefully with his family by his side at the Hamilton General Hospital on Saturday, May 9, 2015. Loving husband of Julia and cherished father of Jeff (Heissel) and Pamela. Much loved grandfather to Olivia and Adriana. Doug will also be sadly missed by his brother David and sister Diane. Doug was retired from Stelco and will be missed by many family and friends. A Celebration of Doug’s Life will take place on Wednesday, May 13th at 2 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Turgeon, Grant M. – Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Thursday, April 30, 2015. Dearly loved and missed by his wife Janet; step-daughter Jinene Veillette; brothers Garry (Linda) and Greg (Lenore) and sister-in-law Penny Wood. Friends will be received by the family on Friday May 8th from 1:00 until the time of Grant’s Service at 2:00 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Beloved Mother of Wendy Fethers (Tony ) and Janet Stanley (David) and dear Grandmother to Christine (Shawn) and Jackie. Survived by sister June Freeman (Len) of London, ON and will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Special Thanks to the Doctors and nurses of palliative care at St Peters Hospital. Gaiarsa, Rino – Longtime resident of Dundas passed away at home of natural causes on April 24, 2015 at the age of 87. He was Born in Italy and was predeceased by his wife Virginia (Arrighi) Gaiarsa who passed away due to complications from Multiple Sclerosis on March 8, 2005. Loving father to Andrew (Yolanda) Gaiarsa and Loraine (Dave) Chiappino. Beloved nonno of Aleksander, Charlotte, and Nicholas Gaiarsa, and Mitchell Chiappino. He was a hard working steam fitter who was dedicated to improving life for his family. The immediate family will be gathering for a private service. As an expression of sympathy, donations in his name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada would be appreciated.

Hanson, Murchie Ivan – The family of Murchie Ivan Hanson is heart broken to announce his passing on Friday, April 24th, 2015 in his 74th year. Peacefully, and surrounded by his family after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. He will be dearly missed by Marie Hanson his wife of 51 years. Treasured father of Glenn Hanson and Lauren (Jim) Killey. Adoring grandfather to David & Evan (Harold Anderson), and Jessica & Chanse (Michelle Burtny). He was delighted to be an honorary Papa to Michael Anderson, and Chelsa & Zack Killey. He will be deeply missed by his beloved sister Shirley Geyer, and his brother in law and friend Paul Geyer. Also survived by brother Sheldon Hanson of New Brunswick, along with many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed a close friendship with nephews Curtis Hanson and Dan Ahearn and spent many enjoyable days on the golf course. A special thank you to nephew Dan Dyer for his carring support to the family. Dad will be missed in his Twenty Place community by many neighbours and his clubhouse friends. The family also extends their gratitude to long time friends Orv & Judy Flear for their love and support through this time. Also to Linda Stoikos for all her compassion and comfort. Special thanks to many firemen retirees for their kind words and good will. Murchie enjoyed a proud career for 30 years with the Hamilton Fire department, and retired as Captain in 1992. He also enjoyed his time as a business owner of the Dundas Garden Centre from 1979 to 1984. As a long time sportsman, wildlife conservation was of great importance to him. In 1984 he became the first President of the Long Point Waterfowlers Association, and gifted both his children with a lifetime love for nature, animals and the outdoors. Dad spent his retirement years enjoying the leisures of golf, his family, and his grandchildren. My Dad was a man with many friends and he extended great kindness to everyone. We are immensely proud of him, for a life very well lived, and eternally grateful for the time shared, the love and the memories. Special thanks to Dr Benger, and Sue Cooke with the Hematology Dept at Juravinski Hospital. Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 4-6 & 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where the service for Murchie will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock. 70, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s hospital on April 22, 2015 in Hamilton, ON with close friends and family by her side. Survived by loving son Robert , grandchildren Alexander, Gregory and Katelyn, sisters Anne, Harlene (Robert), brothers Jim (Ruth) and Phil (Dorothy), sister in law Joyce, and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by her special 4 legged friends Abba and Peanut. Friends will be received by the family on Monday evening from 7-9 and Tuesday afternoon from from 1 until the Service for Gail at 2 o’clock at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Binkley, Billie Elizabeth (nee Marsh) – Peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital on Thursday, April 23, 2015 in her 93rd year. Predeceased by her husband Jacob (1980). Dearly loved and cherished by her daughters Betty (Peter Johnson), Mary Binkley and Connie Binkley; precious grandchildren Peter (Andrea), Rosellen, Christine, Samantha, Tabitha, Bryan and Elliott; great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Odyn and Nealla. Predeceased by her brother George and his wife Ruth and her sister June. Remembered fondly by her brother-in-law Harold Farmer. Billie was a dedicated, caring, supportive grandmother who drove a tractor, cleaned stables and farmed well into her 80’s. Her hospitality was renown. She was a long time member of West Flamborough Presbyterian Church. A special thank you to all those who participated in Billie’s care. Friends will be received by the family on Sunday evening from 6-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where Billie’s Service will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Interment Grove Cemetery. The family of Frank Pearce would like all his extended family and friends to know that on April 20, 2015 our Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas, Ontario. Frank was predeceased by his loving wife Joan (2000). He will be greatly missed by his children Sue (Alan), Debbie (Pete), Richard (Ginny) and Chris (Doug) as well as his nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Frank was Canadian to the core, a true public servant and had a full and interesting life. He started out as a city boy in Verdun, Quebec, the son of Maud Mercy Pearce and Francis Thomas Pearce and brother to Betty. He graduated from Sir George Williams University. Frank and Joan began their life together in Montreal. They moved their young family to Burlington where Frank furthered his career at Stelco. Frank worked with many wonderful colleagues and friends not only at Stelco but around the world. A highlight of his life was the quarter century that he and Joan spent on the farm in Puslinch. They were both very active in their community meeting and enjoying many friends along the way. This wealth of friendship continued after a move from the farm to Guelph where new friends were made on Marilyn Drive. In recent years, Frank has had health challenges but throughout it all family has continued to be the most important aspect of his life. He loved to get together with family and cherished visits with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. With this in mind, the immediate family will be celebrating a life well-lived in a manner that he would have loved. There will be a private family gathering at a later date. We would like to thank his extended family and friends who have kept in touch over the years. We thank the caring staff at St Joseph’s Villa and his two companions Walter and James from Home Instead, who have shown great friendship, kindness and care. We ask that in his memory you consider donating to a charity of your choice or one that Frank favoured, the Bay Area Restoration Council or the Good Shepherd food bank.
