Howlett, Lenore (Lee-Marie) – November 16, 1928 – April 1, 2016 – Mom left us peacefully on Friday April 1, 2016. Reunited with husband Ralph and children Jamie, Greg and Marlene. Left to mourn, children Dave (Kathy), Deric (Merry), Patti (Royal) and six grandchildren. Mom was a well respected seamstress in the town of Dundas for over 30 years. With respect to mom’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. A private family burial will take place later in the spring. We will have a Celebration of Life in the near future. Special thanks to Blackadar Continuing Care and to Sandra for being there for mom. Donations to the Alzheimer Society or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by our family.

Herod, Richard

September 18, 1945 – March 28, 2016

It is with extreme sadness that I announce the sudden and unexpected death of my beautiful husband Richard Herod on Monday March 28th while vacationing in Florida. Deeply Mourning his loss are his wife Cathy, son David (Nadine), daughter Mary and his four beautiful grand-kids, Emily, Reid, Grace  and Dre who absolutely adored him.  Also left to mourn are his sister and brother-in law Deb and Bob Walters, grandson Michael, daughter Lisa and brother Brian (Jane). Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday, April 5th from 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  A private ceremony will be held to celebrate his life.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Mac Sick Kids would be greatly appreciated.  Cremation has already taken place.

Castle, David

September 23, 1925 – March 17, 2016

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on March 17, 2016. Predeceased by his son, Raymond Manning, brothers Stan and Hugh Castle, and sister Helen Castle. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Lenore Castle, daughter Tonya Castle and granddaughters Elizabeth and Charlotte; son Paul Manning, daughter-in-law Arlene Manning (Raymond), granddaughters Raylene and Stacey, and five great-grandchildren. David was a lifelong member of the Hamilton Choral Community, starting as a choir boy at St. Mark’s Anglican Church in 1933. He was a member of the Civic Concert Choir, the Bach Elgar Choir and the John Laing singers. A veteran of WWII, David was a commissioned Officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force, serving as a wireless air gunner. David will be missed by friends, family and clients. The family sincerely thanks the staff of St. Peter’s Residence for the care and kindness David received. Friends will be received by the family on Monday evening from 7-9 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where David’s Service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.  Donations to St. Peter’s Residence, Alzheimer’s Society or charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Surrounded by her family on Friday, April 1st 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospice London in her 85th year.  Iris was predeceased by her loving husband Gilbert (1999).  Cherished mother of Chris (Janis), David (Sherry) and Barbara (Ann).  Much loved grandmother of Alicia (Brian), Kyle (Carrie), Tori, Olivia, Bryce, Ian, Jamie and Andrew.  Great- grandmother (Nanny) of Isabelle and Adrian.  Iris will also be sadly missed by Michelle Lawrence.  Many thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice in London for their care and compassion shown towards Iris.  Friends will be received by the family on Thursday, April 7th from 1p.m. until the Celebration of Iris’ Life at 2 p.m. at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  Cremation has taken place.  In lieu of flowers, donations to The Ontario Rett Syndrome Association would be appreciated by the family.

The Lord, in His infinite wisdom, has taken unto Himself our dear mother, Alberdina (Diane) Wilbrink (nee Brunsveld), at the advanced age of 100 years, on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Predeceased by her husband, Marinus, in July of 1993. Loving mother of Mary and John Droogendyk, Trudy and Jerry Hamstra, John and Rita Wilbrink, Wilma and Bill Droogendyk, Marina Wilbrink and Joyce and Rick Zwiep. Dear Oma to 15 grandchildren and their spouses and 36 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by an infant son, two grandchildren and nine siblings and their spouses. Visitation at Ebenezer Free Reformed Church, 253 Weirs Lane, Dundas, Ontario on Thursday, March 31st, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service at the same church on Friday, April 1st, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. L.J. Bilkes officiating. Interment at Mount Zion Cemetery following the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Shalom Manor and Gardens in Grimsby, Ontario, would be gratefully appreciated.

Lotocki, Francis Carl “Frank”

Passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27th 2016 at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in his 88th year.  Frank is predeceased by his loving wife June.  Cherished father of Janice, Frank (Nancy), and David (Ruth-Anne).  Frank is predeceased by his sisters Rose and Julia as well as his brothers Andrew and Bill. Survived by his brother Robert (Bill).   Frank will be sadly missed by his 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.  Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Frank’s Life will be held at the Hamilton Airforce Club, 128 King Street East, Dundas,  from 12- 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre or the Hamilton Alzheimer Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

An awesome 100 years! Ivy passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa, Dundas, on March 25, 2016.  Born in Dundas, May 23, 1915. Beloved wife of the late Harry Buttrum. Dearly loved mom of Jim (Cyndy), Judy Willson Trotman (Craig) and Elaine deRuiter (Robert). Loved Grandma of Luke, John (deceased), Neil (Cindy), Christie (Evan), Gary (Kierin), Sarah (Jay), Shelley (Christian). Dear Great-Grandma of Caelan, Kase, Isabelle, Asher and Oliver. Loved Aunt to many; especially to Sandra Hicks and Pat Speakman. Ivy was predeceased by 3 brothers and her dear sister Evelyn (Auntie) Beauregard. Harry and Ivy were market gardeners in West Hamilton. Ivy sold their fresh homegrown vegetables at the Hamilton Market for 37 years. Starting in 1966, along with the market, Ivy started selling and escorting bus tours all over North America and Mexico  for C.H. Norton bus lines of Burlington. (Gladys Norton was her best friend on the market.) At the age of 65 in 1980, Ivy opened a full service travel agency, Ivy Buttrum Travel on Emerson St. in West Hamilton. Along with her daughters, Elaine and Judy, she worked until her early nineties. She loved people, animals, travelling and garage sales! Her kids were her everything and in return we loved her dearly. Special thanks for the kind and loving care at St. Joseph’s Villa. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at Grove Cemetery, Dundas, on Friday, April 1st at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow at St. Paul’s Church, 29 Park St. W., Dundas. Passed away quietly on March 25, 2016, in his 91st year, at Wentworth Lodge, Dundas. He was the loving father of Jerry (Ann) and Julie. Beloved grandfather of Tara (Josh), Astra (Steve), Hayley, Brittany (Mike), Gage, Larah and Real. Brother of Donald and Willard. Predeceased by his wife Jean Wright (Patterson) (1997). Predeceased by his parents Richard and Iva, and siblings Howard, Gordon, Dorothy, Bernice and Phyllis. Ken was born in Inverness Quebec but was a long time resident of Dundas where he worked at Westinghouse and later became a well-recognized employee at the Dundas Public Utilities Commission (PUC). He was known among the local community as someone who would serve and help others. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at TURNER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 53 Main Street. Dundas – Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 7-9 pm. A service to celebrate Ken’s life will be held at the ST. MARK’S UNITED CHURCH, 1 Lyndale Dr. Dundas, on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 1 pm.
