Buhlman, George

August 22, 1918 –  July 4, 2015

Peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital with family by his side on Saturday, July 4 2015 in his 97th year.  Sadly missed by his wife Cecelia of 78 years.  Predeceased by his parents, two sisters, and four brothers.  Survived by Jean (late Nick) Roccatagliata, Jo Ann (late Doug Buhlman) as well as his 5 grandchildren Mark (Tara) Pam, Leanne (Paul) Sandra (Colin) and Jamie Buhlman.  George will be sadly missed by 9 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren as well as nephews and family in England.  George worked for 30 years at Westinghouse, was a veteran of WWII Navy, a long time member and past president of the Dundas Legion Branch # 36.  Member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Augustine’s Church.  George retired to the Muskoka and he loved to travel to several beautiful countries.  He enjoyed his time in Florida over the winters and lived a long happy life.  Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday evening from 7-9 pm.  Cremation to follow and a Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at ST. AUGUSTINE’S PARISH, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas. Interment to follow at St. Augustine’s Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dundas Legion Branch # 36  or St. Augustine’s Church would be appreciated by the family.

It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of loving and dedicated wife of Phil Tufts of 34 years, adoring mother of Marley and Melaney (her M&M’s) and dearly loved daughter-in-law of Ralph Tufts (Dad). Beloved daughter of mother Dolores Gordon, and father Edward Luksha (deceased). Sister Nancy Gabrielse (Jan deceased). Brother Michael Luksha (Wife Helen). Predeceased by her loving brother Steven Luksha. Rosanne was a fun and most loved aunt (“T.T”) by her nieces and nephews and will be missed by all. Rosanne (Rosy) always had a special place in her heart for the Winchester family. Thank you for all the love, kindness and memories you have shared with our family over the years. Special thanks to the TGH Peter Munk building Ward 4B staff for their professional and compassionate care for Rosanne and our family throughout these difficult times. Rosanne’s strength, courage, sense of humor and faith has been a blessing for us all. Her beautiful spirit and infectious laugh will always live on in our hearts. Sweet Dreams. The family would like to honor and celebrate the beautiful life of Rosanne at Cattel Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street Dundas on Thursday, July 9th between 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm. The funeral service will take place at ST. PAUL’S UNITED CHURCH, 29 Park Street West, Dundas on Friday July 10th at 11am, followed with interment at Grove Cemetery. Following the service there will be a celebration of life gathering at the Winchester Arms, 120 King Street West, Dundas.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre, Toronto General Hospital or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Weismiller, Frederick George

January 23, 1923 – June 26, 2015

Weismiller_Fred Weismiller, Frederick George – Quietly passed away at age 92 on June 26 at Hamilton General Hospital in the company of loved ones as a result of a sudden stroke the previous day. Predeceased by his first wife Mavis (Foell) and survived by his second wife Anneliese (Hampel), daughter Jana(Gerald Roppelt), and son Jeff (Laura Charles). Fred will also be missed by Pat Weismiller, Lisa and Chris Hempel and sister Ruth Watson and her family, as well as his grandchildren Brian, Jennifer, Shawn, Rhiannon and Brendon and great grandchildren Casey, Addison and Callie. Fred grew up in Elmira Ontario, spent the war years as a RCAF navigator and following a chemical engineering degree from Queen’s University worked for the Proctor and Gamble Company in Montreal and Hamilton until his retirement. He was very active in his church, and enjoyed the sports of curling and golf throughout his life. Visitation at Grace Lutheran Church, 1107 Main St. West, Hamilton, at 10:00 am Tuesday July 7, followed by the service at 11:00 am. and interment at Grove Cemetery, Dundas. McCAIG, Judith Anne (nee Roberts)

McCaig, Judith Anne (nee Roberts) – Peacefully with her loving family by her side, Judy passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Emmanuel House.  She will be abundantly missed by her life partner, Allan Caldwell of over 20 years; her daughter Lisa (Jeff Erb); father Bruce “Dewey” Roberts and her loving grandchildren Danielle and Justine.  Predeceased by her mother Evelyn “Buckle” Roberts;  Judy’s passions in life were her grandchildren, her monthly card games and social gatherings with her close family/friends.  A special thank you is extended to Emmanuel House for their care and compassion toward Judy and her family.  Friends will be received by the family on Thursday evening from 6-9 and again Friday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Judy’s Service at 11:30 a.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  Cremation has taken place.

Curtis, Wilfred Anthony

Surrounded by the love of his life Joan (Grightmire) and his family, Wilfred passed from this life to heaven ever so gently and in peace. Father of Peter (Bernadette), Paul (Monica), Mary (John), and Julia (Don). Cherished Papa of Meagan, Andrew, James, Sean, Maddox, Devon, Michael (Melissa), Derek, Justina, Patrick and Stafford.  Born in Hamilton (in 1928) and predeceased by parents Ruby and Wilfred Curtis Sr. and siblings George, Jack, Gordon & Marilyn. Wilfred was a man of great faith and creativity. His entrepreneurship took him in many different directions where his experiences resulted in many stories. Upon retirement, he turned to his love of writing completing several books by his pen name Wilfred Anthony. His other passion was wine making and many would attest that his wine was simply the best. The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care and compassion shown to dad by Doctor Zou and the Dundas Family Medical Health Team, Doctor Allison Montgomery, Doctor Gerry Cox , Doctors and Nurses of the Cardiac Care Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Seniors for Seniors and the CCAC.  In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted to the Dundas Museum or the Hamilton Naturalists’ Club for the planting of trees in the community.  Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. & 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Sergeant, Donna Helen

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Donna on Friday, June 12, 2015 in her 76th year.  She died at the Juravinski Hospital after a difficult illness borne with grace and courage.  Donna was born in Hamilton, the adored only child of Frank and Helen Williams (Mitton).  Married for 34 years, predeceased by her soulmate, Mervyn Sergeant (1995).  She was a tender and devoted mother to Stephen (d 1962), Laura, Myles (Sonia Anand) and Matthew.  Loving and proud grandmother of Anjali, Anand and Sachin.  Much loved by her adopted grandchildren Elaheh and Shahab Mirzad, her sisters [in law] Ruth Hess and Gwen O’Neill and many friends.  Donna was guided by her Christian faith and lived in the Light and lived Love.  Passionate in her calling as a nurse and professor, she provided exemplary care to patients and creative mentorship to students both in Canada and overseas.  She loved life and took great joy in entertaining, reading, gardening, travel, hiking, photography and writing poetry.  Deep appreciation for the exceptional care provided by every member of her outpatient and C3 Juravinski teams.  Friends will be received by the family on Monday afternoon and evening from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  Donna’s Service will be held at ST. PAUL’S UNITED CHURCH, 29 Park Street West, Dundas on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.  Private interment.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to McMaster University (School of Nursing), St. Paul’s United Church or Trees for Hamilton.
