Peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on Sunday, October 16th, Lynda Dean (nee McKee) passed away at the age of 75. Loving wife to Gordon for 56 years, loving mother of Rod (Kathi), grandmother to Sam and Dan. Dear sister to Sherry O’Keefe and Sandra Smith (Doug), sister-in-law Peg Ferguson (Paul), brother-in-law Jim Dean (Andrea), and numerous nephews and nieces. We would like to thank the ICU unit at the General Hospital for a tremendous job. A Celebration of Lynda’s Life will take place at the Airforce Club (Dundas), on Saturday, Nov 5th from 2-5pm. Skubisz, Richard Ernest

Skubisz, Richard Ernest – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Richard Skubisz, who passed away peacefully on October 13th, 2022 at Welland Hospital after a brief illness. Beloved son to parents Catharina and Stanislaw Skubisz, Richard spent his childhood in Hamilton before moving to the Niagara Region at 16. Richard spent the last 43 years living in Port Colborne, leaving behind a large group of friends, family, and devoted support staff through Community Living. Richard will always be remembered as a man who lived life to the fullest, who was well-cultured and enjoyed the finer things in life. He never missed an opportunity to have fun, or show affection to the people in his life. He will be deeply missed. Arrangements have been made with Turner Family Funeral Home in Dundas for October 25th, 2022. Visitation will begin at 1pm, followed by funeral service at 2pm and burial at White Chapel Memorial Gardens at 3pm

Royce, James (Jim) William

Peacefully with family at his side at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington on October 11, 2022. Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife Kate (’99) and his parents Bill (’87) and Sheila (’06). Jim will be deeply missed by his sons William and David to whom he was a loving and devoted father. Lovingly remembered by his brothers David Royce (Laurie) of Kamloops, BC and Alan Royce (Charlene) of London, ON as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other family members and friends. Jim was a graduate of McMaster University in chemistry and went on to obtain his teaching certificate. He briefly taught high school science/chemistry before embarking on a 30+ year career with PPG in their automotive coatings division. When the PPG plant closed in 2009 Jim returned to teaching high school chemistry for several years before retiring. In his retirement Jim spent several years playing in the Ancaster Vets Slow Pitch Baseball League. In 2020 Jim and the boys moved from their Ancaster home to Kamloops to be close to Dave and his family before returning this past July to a lakefront condo in Burlington. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday October 20th from 7-9 PM at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. A service for Jim will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM at the Lowville United Church, 5800 Guelph Line, Burlington. Interment will be in the Lowville United Cemetery. In kindness, donations to Diabetes Canada, the Canadian Lung Association or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Frank, Bruce

Frank Bruce – Suddenly at home on October 16, 2022 at the age of 70. Predeceased by his wife Eleanor, his father George, his mother Hilma, and his in-laws Ruth and Doug Guild. He will be greatly missed by his children Paul Frank (Cheryl) and Catherine Walker (Mike), his siblings Peter Frank (Jadzia) and Cindy Caldwell (Paul), as well as Paul Guild (Inta) and Nancy Bendall (Ian) and numerous nieces and nephews. Bruce had a long career as University Secretariat at McMaster University prior to his retirement in 2012. Born in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Bruce came to Hamilton in the early 1970s to pursue his PhD in history at McMaster. He met Eleanor and they raised their family in Dundas, always sure to return to Wolfville every year to spend 2 weeks at the beach. Friends will be received by the family on Friday evening from 7-9 at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where the Funeral Service will be held Saturday morning at 11 o’clock. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Dryden, John Leonard

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Leonard Dryden in his 91st year. Beloved husband to Gayle Sharon Dryden for over 63 years. Father to John M. Dryden (Christine) and predeceased by daughter Adrienne and son Brent. Although he will be greatly missed, we will cherish our many memories of him. We take comfort in knowing that he is finally at peace in heaven with those who have gone before him. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Friday, October 21st from 10:00 a.m. until the time of John’s Service at 11:00 a.m. at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.
