Devison, Linda Joyce

Devison, Linda – Passed away peacefully at the “Nora Frances Henderson Hospital”, on March 1, 2023 in her 75th year (Birthdate: September 11, 1948). Predeceased by her loving husband Sandy Devison (January 2014). They shared 43 memorable years (31 years as husband and wife). Dear sister of Fran Rempfer, sisters-in-law of Nancy (Val) Nugent, and Yvonne Jones. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Marjorie Child, infant sister Patricia, brother Albert, brothers-in-law Bill Rempfer and Roy Jones, and mother & fathers-in-law Martha and Sam Westcott and Hector Devison, and her best friend of 60 years Donna Bennett. Step-mom of Martha (Bill) Robinson, George (Darlene) Devison, and Michelle Clark. “Granny” will be lovingly remembered by Steven (Nikki) Traver, Lyndsay (Kyle) Prytula, Justine (Jeff) Atherton, Danielle (Kevin) Stewart, Lane (Keely) Clark, Chloe (Brendan) Sevigny, Drew (Breanne) Clark, and Korri Robinson. Extremely blessed “Great-Granny” of Reece and Kayden Traver, Deacon and Blaise Prytula, Mason and Kara Stewart, Patrick and Elliott Sevigny, and Tahlia Atherton. Auntie Linda will be fondly remembered by nieces and nephews Teri Havers; Dave (Val) Rempfer, Mike (Christel) Child; Jill (John) Barratt; Lynn (Ryan) Rempfer-Gamache; Patti (Allan) Boucher; great nieces and nephews; April (Mike) Browning, Megan and Brittany Havers; Joseph and Nicole Boucher; Catherine (Levi) Steffen and Adam (Katherine) Rempfer; Troy and Cole Barratt; Heili and Lucas Child; and Hayzen Gamache. Great-Great Aunt of Victoria Browning, Mikkel and Arija Steffen. Linda will be especially remembered by her second-cousin Denise Hart, and her precious cat “Manilow”. Linda was a secretary for Atkinson Engineering Inc. for 35 years (retired 2010); former Membership Director and Life Member of the Hamilton Air Force Association; one of eight members of the “Gab and Shuffle Card Club” for over 35 years; and a 99-year member of the Barry Manilow International Fan Club. Linda’s ashes will be buried at Grove Cemetery, Dundas with Sandy where they will spend eternity together. Friends will be received by the family on Monday, March 6th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Turner Family Funeral Home 53 Main Street in Dundas where Linda’s Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. The family wish to express their gratitude to Dr. Aljama and the staff at Juravinski Hospital (or as Linda always remembers it as “Nora Frances Henderson Hospital”) for their excellent care especially during her final days. It was Linda’s wish that any in Memoriam Donations be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, the Dundas Food Bank, or send her favourite flower “Carnation” to someone you love.

Roy, Therese Marie

Born in New Brunswick on March 28th, 1936. Passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side, at the age of 86, on February 23rd, 2023. Predeceased by her husband Nazaire Roy, brother’s Frederick, Leo and Aldonce, sister’s Beatrice, Valida, Delina and Marcella. Survived by her brother Isador (Helen) and sister’s Elizabeth Ann Brideau (Jean Guy), Evangelina Frenette (Lucien) and sister Mary Ann Legacy. Loving children and spouses Marcella, Susan, Doris/Doe, Raymond and Roger. She leaves a legacy of 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday, February 28th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1st at the Funeral Home. Campanelli, Donna Marie

It is with great sadness that Donna Marie Campanelli (nee Nardella), our cherished wife, mother, nonna, sister, and friend, left this world into the arms of God on February 18, 2023, in Hamilton, Ontario. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband and the love of her life, Joseph. Donna Marie is lovingly remembered by her three children, Michael (Jari), Mary Ann (Greg), and Paul and her four adored grandchildren, Maya, Jude, Sophia and Leah. Daughter of the late Lorenzo and Gaetana, survived by her siblings, Madeleine, Larry, Linda, and Rosemary and the late Louise, John, Loretta, and Joe.

Being a mother and grandmother was her greatest joy in life. Her love of life could be caught in the sparkle in her eye when dancing with her grandchildren.

Donna Marie was born on June 6th, 1938. Graduating in 1961 as a registered nurse from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Hamilton. Donna Marie travelled and worked in south Texas before returning to Dundas to start a family and enjoy a 35+ year career.

Donna Marie had the remarkable ability to strike up an animated conversation with those she had just met and lifelong friends alike. You could always expect a captivating and kind conversation. She loved to travel, journeying to many corners of the earth, exploring exotic foods and cultures; before it was fashionable, she was always a trendsetter.

Her Catholic faith was ever-present in her life and gave her strength, hope and inspiration. Her faith and capacity to endure adversity with dignity and grace were unsurmountable. She belonged to many prayer groups and always enjoyed her time with friends in faith. She had a special devotion to St. Jude, the Divine Mercy, and Our Lady Undoer of Knots.

She will be celebrated and remembered for her gregarious spirit, kind, loving heart, and positivity in the face of adversity. Her smile could light up a room. She was a tour de force.

Friends will be received by the family on Monday, February 27th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28th at St. Augustine’s Church, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas, and celebration of her life to follow. Interment at St. Augustine’s Cemetery.

Preece, Joan Barbara (nee Doherty)

Age 86, passed away peacefully, February 14th, 2023 with family at her side. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, November 29, 1936, the fourth and last child to Violet and Clifford Doherty. Predeceased by her brothers Jim and Bob and sister Betty. Beloved wife of the late Ernie Preece of 56 years. Although they never had children of thier own, Joan and Ernie enjoyed spoiling many nieces and nephews, plus great nieces and nephews. Joan lived a full life as a wonderful daughter, wife, aunt, and friend. She worked for 23 years at Valley City Manufacturing in Dundas, Ontario, retiring at the age of 64. Along with her husband Ernie they started the Hamilton Studebaker Chapter and spent many hours at car shows. Joan was known for her entertaining stories which she loved to repeat often, her love of animals, great sense of humor, puzzles and trashy magazines. A rare combination of someone who had a love for life and a firm understanding of what was important. Joan will be fondly remembered by both family and friends. Friends will be received by the family on Friday, February 17th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where Joan’s Service will take place on Saturday, February 18th at 10:30 a.m. Private burial will take place. Donations to the Heart & Stoke Foundation or Humane Society are welcome.

McEachern, Dorothy May (nee Simpson)

McEachern, Dorothy May (nee Simpson)- Suddenly at her home on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, in her 95th year. To Dorothy, family was everything, she was the beloved wife of the late Al (1997), and loving mother to Dave (Cyndy) McEachern and Carol Carte (Chuck), and grandmother of Kyle McEachern, the late Adam Carte (2018) and Aaron Carte. Predeceased by her 4 brothers; Earl (2003), Bernard (1945), Harold (2014) and Ralph (1986). As per Dorothy’s wishes, cremation and a private family interment have taken place. Donations in Dorothy’s Memory would be appreciated to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
