January 7, 1925 – April 13, 2017

Main, Clarence William “Bill” – Passed away peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on Thursday, April 13, 2017, in his 93rd year. Predeceased by his wife Joanne (Jan.2017). Loving Dad to Terry, Kim and her husband Steve, cherished and loving Papa & great Papa to Helena, Cam and Sebastian, Lisa, Matt & Olivia.  Bill is survived by his siblings Marie, Wray, Leone (Paul), Jon (Lynn) and Kathy. Predeceased by his parents Cecil and Annie and his brothers Glenn and Grant. Bill was a Lifetime member of the RCL Br.#36, Dundas, he proudly served with the RCA during WWII and the Korean conflict. Bill was also a longtime member of the Good Times Hunting & Fishing Club, and was a member of the Dundas Seniors Club where he made many good friends & memories over the years. As per Bill’s wishes, there will be a private Family Service at a later date. Heartfelt thank you to the staff at the HGH and a special thank you to nurse Monica for their care and compassion during this time. Sardella, Keith Victor James

October 22, 1933 – April 10, 2017

Sardella, Keith Victor James – Peacefully at Emmanuel House on Monday, April, 10, 2017, in his 84th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Shirley in December and sadly missed by his son Michael (Patricia) and daughter Laura (Merlyn MacPhee); grandchildren Brandy Young, Grant MacPhee (Amanda) and Andrew Sardella and great grandchildren Aliexia and Aubrey. Survived by many nieces and nephews, his brother Malcolm and predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters. Keith was a long-time employee of Steetley Quarry, was a member of the Steelworkers Union and a faithful patron of Flamborough Downs. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 6-8 at the Turner family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Vigil Prayers Thursday afternoon at 2:30. Expression of sympathy to Emmanuel House would be appreciated by the family.

Weaver, Mary Helen (nee Nagy)

December 21, 1929 – April 9, 2017

Weaver, Mary Helen (nee Nagy) – Passed away at Wentworth Lodge on Sunday April 9, 2017 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Don Addison Weaver (1999). Loving mother of Don Weaver (Ruth), Denise (Ross) Anderson, and Deborah Swan. Cherished grandmother of Don, Sarah, Lisa, and Megan. Caring great-grandmother of Hailey and Lily. A private service will take place at 11:00am Wednesday April 12, 2017 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St. Dundas. Donations to the Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.

McNamara, Michael Alphonse

July 11, 1926 – April 6, 2017

McNamara, Michael Alphonse – Died April 6th, 2017 peacefully at the age of 90 with his family by his side.  He was a longtime resident of Hamilton, Ontario and enjoyed his retirement years in Dundas, Ontario at the St. Joseph’s Estate condominiums.  He is survived by his loving wife Mary Ann of 62 years; children: Michael (Christina); Ann Marie (Alan Humphrey); Maureen Hubert (Glenn); Paul (Tammy); Colleen Sayer (Christopher), son-in-law John Pataracchia (Diana), grandchildren Rachel, Angela, Michael (Megan), John; Danny and Christopher (Ali); Benjamin; Alex and Caleb; Stephanie and Aaron; sisters Mary and Helen; his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and Aunt Halvetta Kelly.  Michael is predeceased by his parents John and Marie (Kelly), brother Jack, daughter Teresa and brother-in-law Michael Boyle.  Michael worked as a property manager at the Hamilton Housing Authority and following retirement as court registrar for the Ontario Court of Justice.  He was a devout Roman Catholic and passionately volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, as a Eucharistic Minister and an usher.  Many thanks to the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital; Dr. Ayeni and staff at St. Joseph’s Villa; Dr. Singh and all at Turner medical.  The family is grateful for the supportive care and devotion shown to Michael.  Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  Mass will be held Monday morning at 10 o’clock at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas.  Cremation to follow.  Donations to the St. Joseph’s Villa Foundation or Good Shepherd in Michael’s honour would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.  Michael’s enjoyment of the company of his family and many friends will always be remembered.  His life was a blessing and our memories a treasure.

Brown, Arthur William

June 22, 1922 – March 29, 2017

Brown, Arthur – A long-time Dundas resident, passed away March 29, 2017 in his 95th year with his family by his side.  He is survived by sons Timothy (Karen) and Philip, younger brother Garnet and many nephews and nieces.  Arthur was predeceased by his wife Helen, parents George and Anna, and nephews Peter and Mike. Born in Haileybury Ontario, Arthur was a survivor of the Great Fire of 1922. His mother stood in the cold waters of Lake Timiskaming holding baby Arthur as the town burned down.  As a boy, his family moved to Kirkland Lake during the 1930’s gold boom, and in his later years he would share stories of the town’s gold mines and the colourful gold rush characters.  In the 1940’s he enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force and proudly served during WWII.  Following demobilization, he joined Ontario Hydro and during his lengthy service worked at many of the company’s sites across northern and southern Ontario.  Upon retirement he was active for many years with the local chapter of the Hydro Pensioners Club.  He served his community through the Dundas Baptist Church, Little League, and Valley Lodge.  Arthur was a wonderful, sweet man; kind and humorous.   A beloved father, his gentle guidance will be deeply missed by his sons.  Visitation at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00pm with a service following at 3:00pm.  Cremation has taken place.  Interment in Grove Cemetery next to his wife at a later date.
