Hand, Joseph “Bennie”

With great sadness we announce the passing of Joseph (Bennie) Hand at the Hamilton General Hospital on April 8th, 2014.  He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Geraldine (Glen).  Devoted father of John and Lori.  Loving youngest son of  the late Albert and Nora Hand.  Predeceased  by brothers John, Myles, Tom, Fred and Albert and sisters Mary, Nora, Alice, Dolores and Leona.  Bennie was the carpenter for Firestone of Canada.  Special thanks to Dr. John You, Dr. Maureen Meade, Dr. Clive Davis and Dr. Deborah Cook.  A private family funeral was held at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home at 53 Main Street, Dundas, ON.  Internment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Hamilton, ON.  Donations to the charity of your choice will be greatly appreciated by the family.

Tunis, Marjorie

Peacefully at Alexander Place in Waterdown on Thursday, April 10, 2014 in her 89th year.  Marjorie was predeceased by her loving husband Robert in 1998.  Cherished mother of Gale (Paul) Millsap, Bob (Sue) Tunis and Nancy Tunis.  Marjorie was predeceased by her brother Henry and is survived by her sisters Verna, Anna and Shirley.  She will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren John, Jennifer, Brett, Andrew, Scott and Jason as well as great grandchildren Grace, Libby, Luke, Kaylan and Sloan.  Marjorie was the past president of the Dundas Figure Skating Club and an avid supporter of the Dundas Community and the Jr. B’s.  Friends will be received by the family on Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  A private service will take place.  Interment Grove cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to MacKids would be appreciated by the family.

Kush, Lillian (nee Karlechuk)

August 2, 1933 – April 9, 2014

Kush, Lillian (nee Karlechuk) – Lillian’s children, Kathy (Jack), Gary (Nova), Wayne (Helen), Marty, Greg (Deborah) sadly announce her passing on Wednesday, April 9th 2014.  Lillian was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph and sister Helen. She leaves behind sisters Mary and Arlene, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 19th at 1 p.m. at the KINGDOM HALL OF JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES located at 178 Mountain Street, Grimsby.  She is now resting faithfully in Jehovah’s loving memory awaiting the resurrection.

Siwak_Louise 001SIWAK, Louise (neeRobinson) It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Louise Siwak surrounded by her family at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice on Wednesday, April 2 in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Siwak (2007). Loving mother of Diane and Rick Murray of Grimsby, and Carol Adamo and Mark Pongetti of Hamilton. Cherished grandmother of Crystal Murray and John Vieira , Scott Murray, and Gabriel Adamo.  Adoring great-grandmother of Jessica and Michael. Predeceased by her parents Agnes and Leslie Robinson and brother George. Louise will be fondly remembered for her vibrant spirit, sense of humour, and passion for gardening. She was a loving and caring person who always put others first. The selfless hours devoted to volunteering at St. Joseph’s Villa and coffee hour at St. Mark’s Church were very precious to her. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, including her many friends at St. Joseph’s Estates and St. Mark’s Church, lifelong friends Mary Stout and Jackie Butler, and special friend Priscilla Bayliss. Special thanks to Debbie Robinson and staff at Dr Bob Kemp Hospice for their exceptional care and support. Visitation will be held at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas on Sunday, April 6, from 4-8 pm. A funeral service will take place at St. Mark’s United Church,  1 Lynndale Drive, Dundas on Monday, April 7 at 11 am.  Cremation has taken place.  A private family interment to follow at a later date. In memory of Louise, donations to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice or St. Mark’s United Church (Kitchen Renovation Fund) would be appreciated by the family.
