Watson, Ronald

We the family are greatful to announce that the spirit of Ron has returned onto the father who gave it. Ron is survived by his loving wife Joyce Louise (nee Donovan) his children Penny (Barry) Thompson, Robert (Marilyn) Watson and Charles (Kathrine) Watson. Also sadly missed by his grandchildren Derek, Stephanie, Jennifer, Domonick, Andrea, Nakia, William, Krystal, Garth (Shelley), Kevin, Troy (Lisa) as well as 9 great-grandchildren. Ron is survived by his sisters-in-law Liz Stewart, Ida Robinson, Shirley Rankin, Pat Freeman (Gary) and brothers- in- law Ross Chant (Peggy), Jody Donovan (Debby) and Jim Donovan (Abbey) and his many relatives in Scotland Cliff, June, Ruth and Alan. Ron was predeceased by his parents William and Margaret, father and mother-in-law Roy and Louise and his sister Isabel Chant. Ron will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews. A special mention to Kathryn Chant for all of her help in the care of uncle Ron as well as long-time special friend Louise Bonnewell for her help and support, dear neighbours Bert and Maria Szucs the many Doctors. Nurses and PSW’s. Ron was a member of the Dundas Seniors Club and worked for 41 years at the Oakville Ford plant and has been retired for 18 years. He enjoyed and loved his family first, his burgundy car, The Grand Ole Opry, pipes, electric guitar, camping, hunting, roses and will be remembered for his special humor. Friends will be received by the family, on Friday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where the Celebration of Ron’s Life will take place on Saturday, June 22nd 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at White Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or C.A.P would be appreciated by the family.

Chadwick, Ruth Isabel

On Saturday, June 15, 2013 at The Village of Erin Meadows Nursing Home in her 98th year. Predeceased by her husband William James Chadwick (December 1, 1997).  Predeceased by her daughter Grace Anne and her husband John Wiley.  Survived by her granddaughter Martha and her husband Steve Groot and their children Jason, Jeremy, Eric and Claire and by her grandson Mark, his wife Caroline and their daughters Megan and Rachel.  Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Ruth’s service at 11:30 a.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  A private interment will take place at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

 

Pocock, Margaret Roberta (nee Ducsharm)

(1921-2013) – Margaret passed away peacefully on Friday June 7. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Norval, daughter Shelley, and her 6 brothers and 4 sisters. She will be missed by her children Ann (Jim) Eydt, Bill (Nell), Judy (Harvey) Woodhouse, Bob, and Cathy (Linda, deceased). Margaret was a special grandmother to 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held in July. Special thanks to the staff at Ridgeview Long Term Care Centre for their kindness and care.

Picone, Alma Patricia (nee Morelli)

Peacefully and with her family at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Wednesday, June 5th in her 86th year. Beloved wife of John Picone. Devoted mother of John Jr., Gail, and Greg and Alisa Picone; cherished grandmother of Christina (Ryan) Kitchen, John Michael, Vincent, Patrick, Lorena, Leah and Adriana; proud great-grandmother of Ronan. Loving daughter and daughter-in-law of the late Anthony and Rose Morelli, and the late Joseph and Josephine Picone. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Raymond Morelli (deceased), Elsie and Joseph Picone (deceased), Bernice and Rino Santi (deceased), Rita and Bruce (deceased) MacKinnon, Mary Morelli, Phyllis Morelli, Rosaline and John Dean, and Len and Norma Picone. Adored aunt to many nieces and nephews. As an active parishioner of St. Augustine’s Church, Dundas, Alma was a member of the Parish Prayer Network, the Bereavement Team and, for more than 53 years, a member of the parish Catholic Women’s League, receiving the Diocesan Frances Lovering Woman of the Year Award in 2012. Our deepest appreciation to Msgr. Edward Sheridan and Fr. Bob Love for their spiritual comfort. Our family is especially grateful to Dr. Jim Williams for the generous and loving care he gave, and to Dr. Simon Oczkowski and the Intensive Care Unit staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital for the exceptional compassion shown our family, and the comfort and dignified care you extended to our dear mother. Family and friends will be received at Cattel, Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Dundas, on Saturday, June 8th from 7 – 9 pm. and on Sunday, June 9th from 2 – 4 pm. and 7 – 9 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Church, 58 Sydenham St., Dundas, on Monday, June 10th at 11 am. Interment at St. Augustine’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made to St. Joseph’s Healthcare Centre would be greatly appreciated.

 

Woodley, Jean Elizabeth (nee Kelly)

A 1940sOn Tuesday, June 4 in her 92nd year.  Jean joins her beloved husband Jack (December 2000).  Loving mother of Susan and Howie Simpson, Barbara (late Wayne Prysnuk), John and Cathy.  Special grandmother of Craig and Bev, Paul and Suzanne, Beth, Stephanie, Jacqueline and Julien, Rebecca and Andrew and great-grandmother of six.  A woman of faith.  A wonderful friend.  A life of serving and caring for others.  Friends will be received by the family on Friday, June 14 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  Jean’s service will be held at KNOX PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 23 Melville Street, Dundas, on Saturday, June 15 at 10:00 a.m.  Interment Grove Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Knox Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family.
