Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital with his family by his side on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. Predeceased by his first wife Betty. Dearly loved and missed by his wife Donna; children Colleen Shaw, Kathryn Black and Diane Payne (Art); daughter-in-law Marion Shaw; grandchildren Barbara, Donna, Laura, Gary, Mark, Pamela, Christopher, Michael and Laurel; step-children Brian and Elaine; 12 great-grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren; Thomas “Jim” Shaw (Dorothy), sister Claire Lahie and sister-in-law Alice Black (Jim). Predeceased by his son Glenn; step-daughter Janet; brothers George Shaw (Patricia) and Clarence “Dude” Shaw; sisters Marion Allan , Margaret “Beth” Munro (Glen), and Mildred Mayberry (Bill); and brother-in-law Kenneth “Ken”. Don had numerous vocations throughout his life. He was a former employee of Bell Canada, a chicken farmer, was adept at using his hands and all kinds of tools. He enjoyed a good round of golf, was a member of the Rockton Lions club, an avid curler at the Dundas Granite Curling Club, and belonged to the Men’s Club and the ‘Thursday Afternoon Singers’ at St. Paul’s United Church where he was a long-time member. Special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Villa, in Dundas, for the exceptional care given to him during his time there. In keeping with Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Don’s life will be held at a later date. If you so wish, donations to St. Paul’s United Church, Dundas or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Monday, October 28, 2019 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Artur. Loving mother to Rolfe (Marion), Vern, John (Deanne), Victor (Heather) and Doris (Rob). Caring grandmother to Matthew, Colin, Erika, Lauren, Andrew, Kevin and Kate and great-grandmother to Lissette Andrea, Aliyah and Jayden. Hedwig was a long time resident of Dundas and happiest when spending time at home with her family and tending to her garden. Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St, Dundas, on Sunday November 3, 2019 from 6 – 8pm. A private family service and interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Arthritis Society or a charity of your choice.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our sweet mother Patricia (Pat). Pat died peacefully at Shalom Village, West Hamilton, on Sunday, October 27th. Predeceased by her husband Max, her parents, Bob and Kitty Wilson, and her sisters, Kay, Violet, Frances and Irene. Loving mother to Bob and Judy Taylor and Lisa and Steve Nicholson. Cherished grandmother to Leah, Zachary and Kara. Also survived by her sister Audrey Lightfoot and her nieces and nephews. Pat’s family meant everything to her, she was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. In her own way, she was a witty lady with a contagious little laugh and cute smile. Passed away on Sunday, October 27 at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital in Dunnville in his 68th year. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Alma Eagle. Beloved husband of Rosemary (nee Neal), and loving brother to Dave (Debbie) and Don (Shirley), and brother-in-law to Brenda Stewart (Gil), Nancy Benoit and Christine Swioklo (Kurt). Sadly missed by his numerous nieces and nephews. John was an a Ham Radio enthusiast. Friends are invited to a Celebration of John’s Life on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 2 o’clock at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, followed by a reception next door at the Cattel Centre. Donation to McMaster Children’s Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on Monday, October 21, 2019, at the age of 90. Predeceased by her husband, Ronald (2010). Loving mother to Marion Bailey (Bob) of Brantford, Jennifer Settle of Hamilton, Alan (Lenore) of Dundas and Beth Kelly (Bob) of Bracebridge. Betty will also be missed by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, her nieces and nephews as well as good friends. A special thanks to staff at St. Joseph’s Villa who loved her and cared for her daily physical needs. Cremation has taken place. Visitation Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 1 o’clock followed by a Memorial Service at 2 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Passed away peacefully at Juravinski Hospital on October 18, 2019 in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late John (Jack) Nunn. Loving mother to Myrna (Andrew) Dyment, Mavis (Tom) Currie, and Brad (Veronica) Nunn. Caring grandmother to Adam, Beth, Hannah, Ian, Cody (Liane) and great-grandmother to Emily Marie Nunn. Sister to Elwood Hibbard and Lawrence Hibbard. Predeceased by her infant son, David, her grandson Michael Dyment, brother Gerald Hibbard, and sister-in-law Audrey Warner (William). Thelma was a member at Knox Presbyterian Church in Dundas and a former elder and choir member at McNab St. Presbyterian Church in Hamilton. Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St, Dundas, on Friday, October 25, from 7-9 p.m.. A Memorial Service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, October 26, at 1:00p.m.. Ed West passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2019 in his 87th year. Ed was born in Woodstock on November 25, 1932, where he grew up with his four brothers, Jim, Sherman (predeceased), William (predeceased) and Bernard (predeceased). He is survived by his sister-in-law Carol and several nieces and nephews. After graduating from St. Jerome’s College in Kitchener, Ed attended St. Peter’s Seminary in London, Ontario after which he taught school for several years on St. Vincent Island in the Caribbean. On his return to Canada, Ed had a very successful career as a Supervisor for over 25 years with the Canadian National Railway. On his retirement Ed went on to serve his church, St. Augustine’s, in many ways including instructing and scheduling the altar servers for 20 years. For over 50 years Mr. West served his church and community in his adopted Town of Dundas, Ontario. He was on the executive and participated on many community organizations including the Dundas Public Library, St. Augustine’s Basketball League, Dundas Little League Baseball, Dundas Minor Baseball League, Dundas Minor Hockey Association and the Dundas Blues Jr. C Hockey Team. He was also a friend to those who needed a friend and a strong supporter of anyone he knew that was in distress or need. As a result of his contributions to the community, Mr. West was voted Dundas Citizen of the Year in 1982. Ed enjoyed studying Latin and Irish Gaelic, music, The CBC and travelling both here in Ontario and abroad to Rome, Italy and Dublin, Ireland. Visitation to celebrate Mr. West’s life will be held at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas on Wednesday, October 16, from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at ST. AUGUSTINE’S CHURCH, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Suddenly, on October 11th, 2019, at home. Second daughter of the late Fr. Paul and Erika Busing. Beloved wife of Reverend Canon Peter Davison and mother of Christopher (Petra Schennach), Justin (Irene Robinson-Davison) and Timothy (Lori Davison). Loving grandmother of Ainsley, Samuel, Nicholas, Mikayla, Matthew and Lauren, and devoted aunt to many members of the extended Busing and Birkett families. Loving sister of Susanne Davidson (Jim), Thomas Busing (Diane), Monica Patten (John), Nicholas Busing (Cathy), Barbara Busing (Norman Read) and sister-in-law to Barbara and Richard Birkett. Affectionately known by many as ‘Bini’, Sabine was born in Oxford, England, during the “blitz” of World War II. With her parents and siblings she immigrated to Canada in 1949. As Peter’s devoted wife, she lived, worked, volunteered, raised and supported their family in St-Jean-Iberville, Quebec; Aylmer, Quebec; Vancouver, British Columbia; London, Ontario; and, Vernon, British Columbia. She and Peter moved to Dundas, Ontario, in 2012. Sabine was a gifted cook, an ardent gardener, a gracious host, a lover of her family, and a devoted friend. May she rest in peace. Service and Celebration of Life will take place at St. James Anglican Church, 137 Melville Street. Dundas, Ontario at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 18th, with visitation at the church from 12:30 p.m. and a reception following. Memorial donations may be made to the Peter and Sabine Davison Fund, The Guelph Community Foundation; St. James Church, Dundas, Ontario; All Saints Anglican Church, Vernon, British Columbia; or to a charity of your choice. At age 98, died at Wentworth Lodge in Dundas, Ontario on August 27, 2019. Elma was born in Rosebush, Michigan, to George House and Grace Wiley House. A graduate of Central Michigan University with a BA in Education, Elma was a dedicated teacher who received numerous awards for her work – including the Jennings Scholar Award and the Valley Forge Teacher’s Medal.
She met and married her husband Ted Stanway from Toronto, Ontario, while he was working for the British Air Commission during WWII. Elma and Ted lived in both the US and Canada throughout their lives. The majority of their working careers were spent in Wadsworth, Ohio where they raised two children, Linda and Edward, and Elma pursued her education career with love and dedication. After her retirement she enjoyed sewing, collecting Royal Doulton figurines and glassware, and writing. Elma believed strongly that learning and teaching should continue throughout your lifetime and she never stopped reading and learning.
Elma will be greatly missed by her daughter, Linda Stanway, her grandchildren Rhiannon Maton, Timothy Maton and Kathryn Grace Maton (Eric Seguin) as well as her darling great-grandchildren Cedric and Felix. Her greatest love was her family. She was preceded in death by: her beloved husband Ted, son Edward Stanway, her sister Florence Van Buskirk and brother in law Gerald Van Buskirk.
Thank you to the staff at Wentworth Lodge for their care and compassion. At Elma’s request, cremation has already taken place. There will be a memorial service on November 8, 2019 at St Paul’s United Church in Dundas at 2 p.m. to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Food4Kids.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Elfriede Breitmaier (Klinger). She was a beautiful person both inside and out. Mom always put her family first and loved her family dearly. Elfriede had a number of accomplishments. She worked as a seamstress in a sewing factory before dedicating herself to being a homemaker and taking care of all of us. She was an accomplished gardener, baker, pastry chef, and prided herself on cooking everything from scratch. Elfriede also enjoyed swimming, biking, walking, and of course, dancing. She loved living in Point Clark in the summer and spending winters in Florida. She is predeceased by her husband (Gordon Breitmaier). Loving mother to Janet Breitmaier and Rein (Char) Breitmaier, and loving Oma to two generations Robyn (Luigi) Bruni and their children, Keele, Tiziano and Idina, and Taryn Breitmaier and son Dexter, sister to Ed Klinger. Predeceased by her parents Samuel and Emma Klinger. A celebration of life will take place at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St. in Dundas, ON, October 16, 2019 with visitation at 1pm, and a service at 2pm.
