Passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 with her loving daughter by her side. Predeceased by her husband Steve (2010). Remembered and loved always by her daughter Kaitlan, brother Stephen Lee (Joan Henry), Aunt Josie and Uncle Malcolm in England and nieces Carla (Josh) and Sophie (Carl). Penny was a dedicated employee of Hamilton Health Sciences for 32 years. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.

Koleff, Allan “Peter” – Passed away at home on January 11, 2020 in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Patricia (nee Kay) for over 23 years. Cremation has taken place. Donations can be made in memory to St. Mary’s General Hospital Foundation.

Born in France on July 1, 1929 and passed away peacefully on January 10, 2020. She was the beloved and devoted wife of Albert, who passed away Thanksgiving day, October 12th, 1981. She was the genteel and caring friend of William Pearce, who passed away July 27th, 2008. She was the dearest companion of Berta, Paupiette and Anton, her beloved “Dachsies”. Hélène was a home person, she loved to knit, to sew and she has so very many pretty needlepoints. For almost 20 years, she was a volunteer at St. Joseph’s Villa, in Dundas.
So, today we ask?
What is life?
……….Life is but a resting place,
A Pause in what’s to be.
A resting place along the road.
To sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys
Different paths along the way.
We all were meant to learn some things
But never meant to stay….
Our destination is a place.
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey is quicker
For some the journey’s slow.
And when the journey finally ends
We’ll claim a great reward
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord….

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Irene Bailey (nee Cregg, Mitchinson). Irene passed peacefully on the 22nd of December 2019, leaving behind her husband Fred, son Geoffrey, grandsons Jamie and Chris and daughter-in-law Cecilia. Mum liked the idea of getting to 100 years old and gave it a good try but in the end the final stages of Alzheimer’s were to prevail. She was a lifelong citizen of the Hamilton area and was involved over the years in a range of activities: Savoyards, Bach Elgar Choir and the Art Gallery as well as a lifelong dedication to church life first at St. Thomas and then St.James in Dundas. Her great joy in life was music and remained in choirs well into her late 80s. She was an avid traveller with trips to Brazil, England and Arizona until her early 90s. Mum had a sharp sense of humour, loved animals, liked to live one day at a time and she had a smile for us every time we got together. Her last years were spent at the Willowgrove home in Ancaster and we want to thank all the team there for their continued care and support. The indispensable support of Zuzana Panek and her loving team at Best Care Agency for these last four years was key in her wellbeing and every day motivation. Their dedicated and compassionate support was fundamental for my mother and our family. A Service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 137 Melville Street, Dundas on Saturday, January 18th at 11:00 a.m. A private interment will take place in the afternoon with family. If you so wish, donations to St. James Anglican Church would be appreciated by the family.

February 8, 1946 – January 1, 2020
Passed away on January 1, 2020 at the age of 73. Grant is survived by his wife of 52 years, Vicki, daughters Kristi (Pierre) and Kelly, son Josh (Jaime), grandchildren Jacob and Hannah, brother Jimmy, sisters Beth (Ray) and Sheree and many nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who could always find the humour in any situation. Grant had a passion for football. He dedicated many years to coaching young athletes playing university and junior football and spent many a Sunday afternoon in front of a game. Grant was also a dedicated movie aficionado and trivia master with particular expertise in John Wayne and classic western movies. A celebration of Grant’s life will take place on Sunday, January 12 from 2-4 p.m. at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

Major, Lynda Ann (nee Smith) – At the Juravinski Hospital on Thursday, December 19, 2019, in her 73rd year. Beloved mother of Michael (Ashley) of Drayton and Suzanne Major of Dundas. Loving grandmother to Ryan, Noah and Matthew, and sadly missed by her sisters Sharron Guyatt (Richard) and Colleen Burrows (Rob). Friends will be received by the family on Monday, December 30, 2019 from 11 a.m. until the Service for Lynda at 12 o’clock at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Expressions of Sympathy to the Breast Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Dieter lived his long life with compassion and intensity. He passed on at home surrounded in love, with his daughter and son-in-law by his side. Dieter was predeceased by his beautiful wife Toni, his sisters-in-law Julia and Irena, his brothers-in-law Walter and Nestor and his nephew George. He is survived by his daughter Monica, his son-in-law Phil McColl, his son Robert, his nephews Leo (Iris), Edward, Henry, Mike (Carolin) and Peter (Danusia), as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
Dieter retired from Toronto Ambulance in 1998 after more than three decades of service. He was noted for his passion and integrity and for being there for anyone who needed him.
After retirement he remained active with the Toronto Paramedic Pioneers, reluctantly missing the Christmas luncheon the day before he died. Dieter was also an avid supporter of the ultrarunning community and was known and loved by ultrarunners across Canada for his energetic through-the-night aid stations that boasted ample home-made (aka “Toni-made”) food, expert first aid and that gentle push (“beware of the chair”) that a runner needs 80 miles into her 100 mile race.
Although Dieter (and Toni) only moved to Hamilton in 2009, he immersed himself in the community with the same gusto that he brought to every part of his life and he leaves behind many friends including those at the SAM Central Program and at the Village of Wentworth Heights, especially dear Natalie Arruda.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Dieter’s life will be held at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street in Dundas on his 90th birthday Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Be ready to share Dieter-stories! In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in Dieter’s name to the Alzheimer’s Society (in memory of Toni).

On December 11 2019, Don, peacefully in his sleep, passed in his 71st year. Son of Jim and Joyce Miller (predeceased). Beloved husband of Susan Miller (predeceased). He is survived by six children – Brenda, Kimberley, Jodi (Gord), Scott (Sarah), Jill (Chris), Donnie (Lori) and 14 grandchildren. Joshua, River, Nash, Steven, Ryley, Jade, Owen, Mikayla, Sianna, Danielle, Samantha, Hayden, Gabriel, and Harrison.
Also survived by his loving brothers, Jim (Jo-Anne), Kenny (predeceased), Eric (Kathy), sisters Cheryl (predeceased), Janet (Brad) and Peggy (John), and many, many nieces and nephews.
Don enjoyed his time here with family, travelling east and west across the country, being a joker, spoiling and teasing his beautiful grandkids. He is at peace now together with our Mom. His kindness, strength and never ending love leaves a legacy with all who knew him. We will see you on the road again someday driver. XO
A celebration of life will take place on December 20th, 2019 (1 – 3 pm) at Family Church of Heritage Green, 360 Issac Brock drive in Stoney Creek. Burial for close family will be held on the Saturday.
In Don’s memory, donations of children’s toys and/or clothing will be accepted for a local charity.

Passed peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital surrounded by her family on Friday, December 6, 2019, at the age of 79. Predeceased by husband of 55 years, James (2014). Dearly loved and missed by her sons David and Jeff (Amanda), daughter Michele (John Pacheco); brother Steve Gerlofs; grandchildren, Ryan (Nathanielle), Ian, Daryl and Andrew; special friend Diane Gavin. Ruth was a devoted mother and grandmother and was the proud owner of the Hallmark Store formerly at University Plaza. Special thanks are extended to the doctors and nurses on 8th South at the Hamilton General Hospital and to Dr. Corriveau and Dr. Cox. After a brief fight with cancer, far too soon, with her family by her side, Georgia passed away peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital on Friday, November 29, 2019 in her 69th year. Predeceased by her parents George and Murial Vanderbilt, and her beloved husband and best friend John. Loving mother of Dawn Robinson and her husband Bill. And as she often referred to as the light of her life, her granddaughters, Lauren and Mia. Georgia will also be missed by her dear friend Doris. Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Dundas, on Saturday, December 14 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. for a Celebration of Georgia’s Life.
