It is with great sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of our dear father, Bill Macintosh, in his 84th year. Predeceased by his loving wife, Ruth (Sept 15 2017), he is greatly missed by his children Timothy (Kathie), Deb (Joe), and Kate (John). He had an amazing influence on his seven grandsons, Ryan, Luke, Will, Jesse, Taylor, Erik and Jackson and always cherished their love. Hopefully, his adventurous spirit and humorous wit will be further passed down to his 4 great grandchildren. Although growing up on the south shore of Nova Scotia (sneaking lobsters at low tide), he began a successful career in the Royal Bank at the age of seventeen, which soon transferred him to Ontario. Here, he met the love of his life, Ruth, also a fellow Royal Bank employee, where they began a life together of 57 years,(ten different homes and cities) raising their three children during the challenges of frequent transfers, which he also taught us to embrace with enthusiasm and positivity. Bill touched many throughout his memorable life. He always found time to volunteer in the local Rotary Club, Cancer Society, Junior Achievement, Kinsmen, Dundas Creekside Condo Board, and Hamilton Probus, as well as making lasting new friendships and community connections along the way. Dad will lovingly be remembered for his unique style of storytelling, eye-rolling puns, summers at the cottages, barbeques, “enthusiastic” board games (he always had to be the Manager in Monopoly), and the sharing of many a Manhattan, Martini, and lessons on how to properly eat a lobster. You are greatly missed already. Our many thanks go out to all the caregivers at the Yorkville Retirement Residence, the Village of Wentworth Heights, his Visiting Homecare team, and St. Joseph’s HealthCare Centre, Guelph. Due to COVID restrictions and the safety of all our family and friends, a private celebration will take place at a later date.
Passed peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on Sunday, September 6, 2020. Predeceased by her husband Russell (2016). Dearly loved and always missed by her children Terry, Bob, Christine (John Muir), Rusty and Don; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and sister Eva (Harry Elburg). Predeceased by siblings Gerald, Alan, Doris, Jack, Roy, Jean and Don. Eileen was a long time member of the CWL, 5 Pin Bowler and Lawn Bowler. Van Der Dussen, Alida (Ada), (73), passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28th at Peterborough Regional Hospital with her family at her side. Ada leaves behind and will be greatly missed by her daughter Margaret (Michel), her son Frank (Wendy), and two grandchildren Mitchell and Cole, as well as extended family members and friends. Ada immigrated from Holland along with her parents Herman and Lena Van Der Dussen and three siblings, Cathy (deceased), Gerry (deceased), and Peter. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a Private Family Service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2020, at 1 p.m. at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Peacefully in his 96th year, William (Bill) Alfred Paradis completed his wonderful life on Sunday, August 30, 2020. Happily married for almost 60 years to his loving wife Marie (née Steer) (1926-2006). Bill will be missed by his dear partner of later years, Barbara Grodzinski of Dundas. Proud father of Paul and Bev Paradis of Dundas, Bruce and Jane Paradis of Pickering, and Lynn and Patrick McGrade of Etobicoke. He was fondly known as “Gramps” by his grandchildren Jonathan (Heather), Jaclyn (Marco), Sarah (Trevor), Christian (Lauren), and Karen (Robb) Paradis, and Joe (Daniella), Leigh, Brenna (Chris), and Jack McGrade, and his great-grandchildren Lilly, Jayden, Scarlett, Penny, Easton and Taylor (with two more on the way).

Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late Don Brooks (2014). Loving mother to Michele (Vince), Pat (Annie), Leslie (Mark), Janice and Jennifer. Caring grandmother to Meghan (Dustin), Derek (Sara), Jordan, Tyler, Matt, Josh, DJ, Shannon, Patrick, Nolan, Sammi and great-grandmother to Addison. Survived by her siblings Wally, Gordon and Jackie. Predeceased by her siblings Jeannie and Joey. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. She was a long-time member of the Legion and will be missed by her S&B group and Golden Girls. Quietly at St. Joseph’s Villa, Dundas, on August 16, 2020 the spirit of life passed from Gladys to the mystery and glory of eternity with God. Her time of pain and suffering and loneliness is over. Loving wife, dear friend and companion for many years of Arnold Hood. Married June 18, 1955 in St. James Anglican Church, Hespeler (Cambridge) Ontario. Gladys was born in Paris, Ontario, January 10, 1931. Gladys attended elementary school in Paris and Galt, where she also attended high school at Galt Collegiate Institute. Gladys also worked for the Toronto-Dominion Bank in Galt. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Lena Griffiths, and step-mother Frances, also by her brother Neill and his wife Verna and nieces Faye and Jill. Gladys was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a wonderful homemaker. Gladys will be greatly missed by her husband, Arnold of Dundas, son Peter of Ancaster, daughter Jo-Anne (Blair) of Dundas, son Steven (Jackie) of Hepworth, and six grandchildren, Christopher (Amanda), Ryan (Shannon), Kyle, Trevor, Jamie and Alexandra, and by two great-grandsons, Morgan and Brooks and many nieces and nephews. With great sadness we announce the passing of Rudolf (Rudy) Albert Parys. Beloved husband of Christel for 59 years, father of Susan (Travis) and Monique (Robert) and Opa to Chelsea, Logan, Garrett and Georgia. Predeceased by his mother Anna and father Gregor Parys. Rudy was born in Beuthen Silesia in Germany on April 13, 1928. He came to Canada in search of opportunity and a better life in the late 1950’s. His first job was at Hamilton Television and Radio as a repairman, but soon after was hired by Bell Canada in August 1957 and worked there until he retired in 1991. Rudy was never one to sit down and relax; he always wanted to keep busy. He was a jack of all trades, Electrician, Mechanic, Plumber, Computer Technician. If he didn’t know how to fix something he bought a book or looked it up on-line. He loved photography, music, books, gardening and animals. Even into his 90’s he was always taking pictures of his family and pets. Upon his retirement he took up skiing, rollerblading and sailing. He was a devoted family man and loved his Grandchildren to bits, ever so patient and always taking the time to teach them new things and tell them wonderful stories.
