Peacefully at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in Hamilton Ontario, on Sunday June 6th, in her 97th year.
Much loved wife of 63 years, to the late Orv Reynolds (2013). Predeceased by their infant daughter Rebecca Jane in 1958. Loving mother to Nancy (Mike) Brown of Simcoe and Paul (Julie) Reynolds of St. Catharines and their children Kyle and Christopher.
After retiring from a 30+ year teaching career in Dundas, Eileen attended McMaster University in Hamilton where she earned her Honors Degree in Art History. Over the years Eileen and Orv’s love of travel took them to over 15 countries, meeting many life long friends along the way. Eileen volunteered as a Docent at The Art Gallery in Hamilton and thru their travels saw many of the paintings she had studied at McMaster.
The family would like to express their thanks to Eileen’s amazing home caregivers, PSW’s Barbara, Lynsey and Sherry along with her evening caregivers Virginia and Kim. We are also thankful to the team of nurses that cared for Eileen at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice (Evelyn, Joanne, Sharon and Whitney)
Due to COVID restrictions, a private family funeral will take place at Grove Cemetery in Dundas. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations in Eileen’s name to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in Hamilton.
Eileen has been greatly missed here at Valley Park She participated in building events until frail health and failing vision limited her activity and this past year the pandemic added a degree of isolation for us all. Nevertheless it was always a delight to spend a little time with Eileen, who greeted a visitor with a lovely smile. She clearly enjoyed talking with some one who shared many of her interests in the arts and travel. As I was often in contact with her care givers, I was equally touched by how much they so obviously thought of her.
RIP Eileen.
June and I were really blessed to have met Orv and Eileen at Central Church. Friendly, gracious and warm wrapped into one package, Eileen will be missed
